Personal Post Monday! Prince's 11th Birthday!

So last week we celebrated my amazing grandson, Prince's birthday.  He is all about the lego's - so I used the verse and clouds from the "Sky's the Limit" sale-a-bration set for the verse and back ground.  Then printed out this Lego jet picture and colored it and popped it up on dimensionals over the clouds.
He got to choose his dinner menu - so instead of cake he wanted to go to Culver's for ice cream.  So after school we went there and had dessert first!!! Here he is with his birthday "cake" and we sang Happy Birthday to him right there at the restaurant!  Isn't he a cutie!
Then he wanted pizza - so we picked up "Mini Murph's" at Papa Murphy's - they are make your own individual pizza kits and the kids love them!!
Here's my gift all wrapped for him.
And another view of the card - it was a tri-fold, and I really like how it turned out.
Finally - here he is with his birthday stash.  I told you he was all about the Legos!  Plus a new WiiU Pro-controller.  He was one happy and thankful kid.
We love you so much kiddo - and are happy you had a great birthday celebration.  Hugs and kisses ~Gramma

2016 Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

It's HERE - and I'm so excited to be a part of this blog hop - nothing better than the combination of stamping, blogging and coffee!!  Just click on the words "blog hop" in the first sentence to take your right to the hop and scroll down for the links to all the cards!  So here's my first card on the hop - It uses the amazing "A Nice Cuppa" stamp set and coordinating "Cups and Kettle" framelit dies from Stampin' Up!  You all know I am a coffee girl - but this teapot image was just too cute to pass up!
My favorite part - that adorable steam heart coming out of the teapot of course! The actual teapot and lid are popped up on dimensionals, which you can see better below.
Hope you like it - now off to create some more cards for future days :)  ~Maureen

Sunday Morning Musings!

So - I just have to say that I am Happy Happy!!! I won this grandfather clock on Wheel of Fortune back in the fall of 1988 and was so excited as I had always wanted one.  But since that time we moved, and moved, and moved, and moved and moved - and through all that it just quit working. It has not worked since we moved to Prescott last June and I was so sad.  So for Christmas I told hubby that all I wanted was to get my grandfather clock fixed.  The repair guy who came out in January needed to take it apart and the pieces back to his shop.  He completely cleaned it, and fixed and oiled it (we had never had it professionally serviced) - then he ran it several weeks in the shop to be sure all was working.  And yesterday it came home.  It sounds like heaven when the chimes play.  What a wonderful warmth it brings to our house.  Thanks for getting if fixed honey!!!
Another thing that just makes me happy are homemade cookies. The kiddos have been gone on vacation all week and were coming home yesterday.  So I made a batch of oatmeal, toffee, chocolate chip cookies and they are yummy!  I just love how they look in this vintage cookie jar that belonged to Paul's Gramma.  They just make me smile!!
Thankfully everyone got home safe and all is well.  So glad to have them back.  Here's a meme for all my friends and family who don't live in Arizona -
One more reason to love Arizona - no changing of the clocks.  Just saying - ha, ha!!!  Stop back tomorrow for some more stamping fun and a blog candy giveaway!!  ~Maureen

Crocheting for our vets - another creative endeavor

Just a quick post today to show this blanket I just finished crocheting.  I'm working with a group crocheting hats, scarves and blankets for our local vets and homeless vets in the area.   In October there is a big event, where veterans are invited - with many, many resources for them - including the items we are crocheting.  They are free!!  We want to keep them warm during the winter months.

So, last month I made scarves and hats - but now I'm working on some blankets.  This is a full size and it is so soft - hope someone just loves it.  Just a funky pattern of stripes!  Now I'm working on a lap blanket that is really colorful - for one of our wheelchair bound vets.
This is really rewarding for me - and a great way to use some of those balls of yarn I have in boxes!  Praying that each will be a blessing for the person that gets it.  See you soon!  ~Maureen

Celebrating my team .... and my daughters!

So I spent the morning making a batch of these cards to go out to my top team achievers for the month of February.  One of whom is my daughter, Heidi - so way to go!!  This was a fun card to make - hope it brings a smile to their faces.  I love the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and the balloon punch makes these little balloons so quick and easy!!
Here they are just before I got ready to send them out. Think I'm going to duplicate this design for some upcoming birthday cards.
Speaking of birthdays - today is my other daughter, Jenee's birthday - just wanted to give a shout out to that beautiful woman - hope your day is perfect in every way!!  Love you honey!
That's it for today - see you soon!! ~Maureen
