Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Gift Packaging - December

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you this month - all spotlighting Gift Packaging!

~*~*~*~*~

I told you last month how much I love Fall - the weather has now turned really cool - and Winter is in the air.  Fireplace is lit at night - tree is up and stockings are hung.  Christmas is almost here.  So I chose to stick with a Christmas theme for my packaging.  This is a little gift money holder decorated to look like a gift.

I have eight grand kids and each Christmas we try and keep the gifts at about the same value - but it is nearly impossible.  When Christmas rolls around there are always one or two a little short - so they get cash to make up the difference.  This year I am making little money holders to present it in. The Real Red Cardstock is 8" x 9" scored along the 9" side at 3 1/4" and 6 1/2" to form a pocket that I cut at an angle and adhered with Tear and Tape.

Then added some DSP from the Trimming the Town papers to give it a festive touch before adding the cold hard cash lol!

I used the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set and the Gift Bow Builder punch to make a cute little belly band to hold the holder shut.  And a Real Red Blend; and a Shaded Spruce Stampin' Write Marker to color it.

There are several fun bow designs to pick from and color - then just punch it out with the punch and pop it up on a dimensional on top of the belly band.  What could be easier - and now all the kiddos will be happy!

Retirement of Whisper White products from SU!

Stampin' Up! just announced the sudden retirement of Whisper White cardstock.  Unfortunately, the mill producing the cardstock has permanently closed due to the COVID crisis.  Whisper White is soon to be replaced with a new cardstock: Basic White.   In the meantime they will continue to sell the Whisper White products until stock is gone - but are limiting them to two per item per order.  Only while stock lasts.  We are all sorry for this inconvenience; but glad a suitable alternative has been found.  Here is a short video explaining the products affected and showing the comparison between Whisper White and our new Basic White offering.

So if you really want some of the Whisper White products listed here - I would suggest ordering as soon as possible.  You can let me know what you'd like and I will do my best to get it for you; or order directly online using my hostess code of GMG7A43R - at www.stampingwithmaureen.stampinup.net.

These items are now available while supplies last with an order limit of 2 per item per order.

  • Whisper White 12" x 12" (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Cardstock (124302)
  • Assorted Memories & More Cards & Envelopes (149710)
  • Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes (131527)
  • Whisper White 3" x 3" (7.6 x 7.6 cm) Envelopes (145829)
  • Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock (100730)
  • Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11" Thick Cardstock (140272)
  • Whisper White Medium Envelopes (107301)

Our new Basic White products will become available to purchase as soon as we have them in stock. This means that some Whisper White and Basic White products may be available at the same time. Additionally, due to the nature of sourcing, some Basic White products may not be available before the Whisper White products sell out. Please know that we are working on getting these products available to you as fast as possible.

If you are placing an order - be sure to check out the Giant Year End Clearance of our retiring items from the Fall mini - and believe you me, it is about 90% of that catalog that is retiring.  So if you have favorites you've not yet purchased - now is the time.  Plus there are a bunch of new items in the Clearance rack, so be sure to check that also.

Finally - need a last minute gift - I am currently completing gift certificate orders.  You can order in any denomination you like and they come in a beautiful presentation folder and decorated envelope - perfect and ready to give.  It's a thoughtful gift for a crafty friend - or even better - let your loved ones know you would like one for Christmas and have them contact me.

Hope you are all having a great month - thank you all for your continued support!  ~Maureen

Step it up With Beautiful Autumn

A while back I did a FB Live video showing some step it up cards using the Beautiful Gilded Autumn set and the Autumn Punch Pack from the 2020 August - December Mini Catalog.  It was so fun and had a great response - so I thought I would post the video and the cards here. Especially since the Autumn Punch Pack is currently discounted 30% and is a MUST HAVE!!

The first note card I made was super simple - just a sentiment and a spattering of the little leaves that were punched out of several colors of card stock - even some shiny gold.
Here's the next card - to step it up, I just added a layer of Mossy Meadow and put this onto an A2 card base.  Added a bow and some gems - and there you go - beautiful.

The final stepped-up version took it to a new level by running the Very Vanilla layer through the emboss machine; punching out the sentiment and adding a layer behind it, and scattering some additional leaves punched from DSP.

I love all three versions - and was fun showing how added elements can change the look of the card.  But me - I'm a clean and simple gal - I like number one best.  How about you? Leave a comment and let me know.

Having some FUN with Pinwheels

I had so much fun playing with the limited availability Curvy Christmas Set and the Classic Christmas DSP -

Curvy Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set - $21.00 - #155364

Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper - $11.50 - #155969

On my Facebook Live Friday, November 27 I made this adorable little pinwheel - it would be perfect to hang on your tree as an ornament.  Here is what you will need to make it: For base you need two pieces of 3.5”x3.5” cardstock in your color choice. A piece of Whisper white or Very Vanilla 3.25” x 3.25”. 4 pieces each of two different DSP designs 1.5”x1.5”. Layers for your sentiment in coordinating colors – largest 1 ¾”x 1 ¾”; middle 1 ½” x 1 ½” and smallest for sentiment 1 ¼” x 1 ¼”. I used Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler as my colors. 10” of ribbon for the hanger. Set: Curvy Christmas Gems: Colored pearls Inks: Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce Adhesives: Seal and dimensionals.

I also made another in the same colors just reversing some of the patterns and elements.   The pearls were colored with Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spuce blends.

And here's a picture of the back - so as you can see it would also be a great tag on a gift or to hang around a bottle of wine as a hostess gift.

SF 2020 - November - Happy Holidays - Blog Hop

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for tons of wonderful inspiration!
It is a Happy Holidays kind of month!
 ~*~*~*~*~
So I wanted to just have a little fun this month.  Was working on split shape cards and had some Jolly Ranchers and the Trimming the Town DSP sitting on my desk when I noticed similar colors.  So I went with it - grabbed my Merry Moose set and coordinating punch and came up with this fun ensemble.
The card uses that split shape technique with our stitched circles in Misty Moonlight, Old Olive, Poppy Parade and Whisper White.   The colors were just bright and kind of crazy - so I thought, why not add a green moose - right!?!
And I liked it!  So then I had to do something with those matching Jolly Rancher candies, and our 3x3" acetate boxes did the trick.  Filled up that little box and put a strip of Whisper White around it vertically to form a band.
Then attached some layers of matching colors to secure it.
Added some circles and a strip of DSP with a Holiday sentiment; and of course another green moose!  Who could resist that - but I'm hoping those circles don't look too much like a target!  I like my moose alive.
I hope you liked my Holiday projects and that maybe they brought a smile to your face.

Shadow Box to Note Cards - think outside the box !

So on my Facebook Live today I shared a quick tip on how to use components from large projects to make some adorable little note cards.  You can view the video - HERE!

I started with this beautiful Shadow Box FALL sampler that we made at a recent class - It uses all current products from the Annual Catalog and the Fall Mini Catalog.

After the class I ended up with a ton of extra pieces that I had cut just in case - so instead of just sticking them in a box - I decided to make cards with them.  I pulled out a package of our Vanilla Note cards and envelopes; and scraps from my Gilded Autumn DSP and here is what I came up with -

The one above is my take on my November First Monday Challenge - you can see full details on what that is and how to enter - HERE!

How great are those - I now have a stack of cards ready to go out to friends and family for Thanksgiving - and I absolutely love them.  So I encourage you to look at different components you have started and are probably laying in a box in your craft room; and make them into something beautiful today!!!  Take care and I'll see you back here soon ! ~Maureen

Hopping Around the World Blog Hop October - Sympathy

Once again, so very happy to be hopping with this lovely group of stampers for the month of October as we share some beautiful Sympathy Cards with you.  Be sure to hop on through the links at the end for some wonderful inspiration.

~*~*~*~*~

For my card today I tried a new technique - the four from one center collage.  I started with a piece of Whisper White that was 10 1/2" x 8".  I drew a cross by putting a pencil line down the middle of the cardstock each way.  Then you stamp somewhat symmetrically out from the center and along the lines you drew.  I cut mine apart then on the lines and mounted on four bases getting this -

I placed them back together somewhat so you could see how I did the stamping.  For these cards I used one of my favorite sets - Forever Ferns -

#152559  $24.00

and several different colors.  Next I pulled out my Timeless Tulips set -

#151534  $18.00
and stamped my sentiments - one for the front of the card that I punched and layered; and one for the center.  These sentiments are just so perfect for a card that shows heartfelt sympathy.

I also stamped on the envelope and inside -

That left me three other cards that I can add sentiments to as I need them.

This is such a fun, quick and easy way to have cards ready for any occasion.  Especially nice when I need a sympathy card - as those are really hard for me to make when needed.  I hope you will try  your hand at this and see what you can come up with.

~*~*~*~*~

Now be sure to "hop" on through the rest of the blogs on the list below to see all their great ideas.  Before moving on, be sure to leave me a comment at the bottom of this post - they make my day!
