Cards Camp - Oh Happy Day!

I love this card - talk about cheery - it just brings a smile to my face.  It uses one of the stamp sets you can currently get FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration.  It's a little hard to see in this picture - but we used the scorepad to get some lines of scoring on the front, and the layer with the "oh Happy day" is popped up on dimensionals.
Also stamped a couple extra flowers, cut them out and popped them up also - so the card in person has a lot more dimension to it.  Hope you enjoyed - that today is a happy day for you!!! ~Maureen

Cards Stamp Camp Get Well Card

Today I'm sharing the Get Well Card we made at this month's stamp camp.  I wanted something cheery and bright - and thought this turned out just great!  I love how you can punch an image and pull it away a bit from where you punched it, so you get that same line.  The butterfly is attached just at the body, so the wings can fold up and give the card some dimension.
The ribbon and the Designer Series paper are the ones you can currently get FREE with a $50 purchase - how great is that!
Here's the inside of this cute little card - it has another butterfly that can also have the wings folded up - I know this would cheer me up if I received it.  ~Maureen

Cards Stamp Camp Anniversary

Here's a lovely card we made at this month's Cards Stamp Camp.  I saw a very similar card on the internet - and loved it.  I changed up the colors and voila!   I put out a Valentine Saying and this one for a wedding or anniversary and the stampers could choose the one they wanted.
This bird punch is so great - and I forget about using it - so was thankful for the inspiration!!! ~Maureen

Great Day with my Makai

Saturday I had a wonderful day with such a sweetie - my grand-daughter Makai!  We started the day at Build-a-Bear.
Then had a wonderful outdoor lunch at the Cheesecake Factory -
The waitress snapped this picture of the two of us together after I told her that we were having a special Gramma/Makai day!
After lunch she wanted to go to the Apple Store to play on the kids Ipads they had - this girl is all about technology!  Here she is sitting outside on the fountain while we enjoyed the February upper 70's!
After all of this we went back to Gramma's and journaled and drew in her special journal - then later ended the day with Ice cream and  gummy bears that we took back to her house to share with her sister and brother.  I absolutely love my Gramma days with each of my grand-kids - it is a great time to really get to know their wonderful personalities!!!  Looking forward to next month with another little sweetie!!  ~Maureen

Showing some love....

Today I want to share some beautiful cards I've received recently.  Many of you know I went through knee surgery last week for a torn meniscus and cyst removal.  I have been in pain for many months and could hardly walk - and now I feel wonderful!!!  Here are a few cards I received in my recovery -
Beautiful card from Kathy B.  I love the partial circle of piercing - will have to CASE this one.
How cute is this - adorable card from Sandy B.  Thanks for thinking of me.
Another card from Kathy B. - she's gotta know my favorite color is yellow :)
This was a very special Valentine I received from my Sis Sharon in Wisconsin. It included a Starbucks gift card - does she know me or what!?!!  I can't wait to go pick up a special treat with it!
Thank you all for thinking of me - I so appreciate your thoughts, prayers and friendships!  ~Maureen

Parks and Rec - Birthday

Today I'm sharing my final card from my last Parks and Rec class - it uses the Sale-a-bration Sycamore Street paper, ribbon and buttons.  Plus the great Happy Birthday Stamp from January's "Best of 25 Years" limited edition stamp set.
We used the postage stamp punch to punch out squares of the paper and then just layered them in a row - you could do this with any pretty paper.  The "Happy Birthday" oval is punched out and popped up on dimensionals.  The cute little bow and button finish it off perfectly.  Hope you like it ~Maureen

Parks and Rec - Celebrate!

Here's another card from my most recent Parks and Rec Class - it uses the Feeling Sentimental set from this year's SU Sale-a-bration event - it's one of the sets you can get FREE with a $50 purchase.  I love the nostalgic feel of the images.  Se stamped the Ferris Wheel, added a brad to the middle of it, and sponged around the edge with Soft Suede to give it a Vintage feel.
Also added a couple little newsprint banners that we also sponged - it reminded me of the banners blowing in the wind at the local fair.  This will be a perfect birthday card for one of my 7 brothers :)  Stop back soon!! ~Maureen

Club Hostess Gift

Today I want to share my hostess gift for my January Club Hostess.  It was our last club before Valentine's day - so I went with that theme.  It's red frame made into a wipe off board (All my club hostesses this year get them - but each is decorated differently).  I opened the frame and added Crumb Cake cardstock and ribbon from the Artisan kit in the current SU Spring catalog.
Then closed it back up again and added some more trims from the Artisan kit and a red marker.  I think it turned out really cute!  See you soon.  ~Maureen

Here's a front view - note the little spritzed rose on the front :)

Club Valentine

Last time I shared our technique of the smooch spritz.  Today I want to share the lovely Valentine we made in club and we used the smooch spritz to add a little sparkle.  Isn't this card beautiful?  It combines old products and new to make an amazing Valentine card.  I love the red/pink with the black - really makes it pop.
Here's a close up of the card and you can see the spritz on itThe hear layers are raised on dimensional, and  I'm not sure if you can see it, but there is a small gem in the middle of the flower on the heart - for a small added touch.
Hope  you enjoyed today's card - use it as inspiration to make a card for someone you love!! ~Maureen

Spritz Technique and Roses

Today I want to share our technique from my technique club this month.  We did Homemade Smooch Spritz - this stuff is great and you can make it in any color you like - even add some glitter for sparkle.
It's great for spritzing on cards, but for one of our projects I used it to spritz the new SU ribbon roses and it looked lovely.
Below is a close-up of the roses after they dried - if you look closely you can see a little of that shimmer paint we added for shimmer.
See you soon!  ~Maureen

Kamili and Gramma a Special Day!

A couple weeks ago Kamili and I had our special day and what a nice day it was.  We started the day at my house drawing and crafting.  Then had lunch at Red Robin - our favorite lunch spot :)
Afterward we walked through the mall, and got a cute little Lady Bug and some clothes for her teddy bear at Build a Bear.  Then we did some journaling of our day together.
Before heading home we stopped for ice cream and gummy bears and brought some back to share with her siblings.  I had a lot of trouble walking due to my current knee trouble - but she was very patient and held my hand and walked slowly with me.  What a sweetie - and what a fun day!  Love you Kamili!! ~Gramma
