Celebrating Kamili!

Last weekend we celebrated the 7th birthday of our grand-daughter Kamili.  My how time flies.  It was an artist paint party (Kamili's choice) and a lot of fun.  Here's our birthday girl in her beret - already to create something great!
My daughter, Heidi, decorated everything in the "art"/"paint" theme.  Here's the food buffet with paint brush rice krispie bars; and a pallet of colorful healthy foods.
The candy buffet in the paint pallet colors.  See the cute little candy bags she decorated.
There were about 15 little girls 10 and under there and Heidi wanted to each create this painting below.  I thought she was crazy - but.....
Look how great they did - the left one was done by a 3 year old and the right by a 10 year old - and everyone else's are just as good.  Heidi was right - it was the perfect project.
Finally - here's our beautiful girl getting ready to blow out the candles.
Happy birthday Kamili - I hope this is a wonderful year for you.  We love you so!!! ~Gramma

Cute Club Project

So here's the cute little project we made at club this month - a Magic Treat Holder - its a great way to present a treat to someone you want to have a great day!  It's a simple long, thin, box - closed on one end only.  Punch a hole throw both layers on the open end, and decorate how you like.
The we added some beautiful ribbon long enough to go the entire length of the box, and enough at the end to tie in a bow.  Fold the ribbon in half, place the candy in the inside crease of the fold.  Then using the candy bar, push the ribbon into the box till the candy bar no longer shows - then tie your bow.  Since the ribbon goes around the candy, as you pull on the bow, the candy bar comes out like magic.
Fun, huh?  Enjoy making your own little magic treat holders.  ~Maureen

Club Card

As promised here's the card we made with the Chalkboard Technique at club.  I think it's great!!   For this card I used the old SU Winter White emboss powder and our gel pen for the doodles.  The stamp set is Layered Labels and it works perfect for this technique.
The black and brown layer is popped up on dimensionals to mimic a chalboard ...the DSP is Epic Day This and That ... then we added Very Vintage designer button with a little bakers twine for the final touch.  Love it!!  ~ See you soon - Maureen

August Club

This month we did the Chalkboard Technique.  This technique is all over the web - you tube - Pinterest -and more.  And it seems like each person has their own way of doing the technique - which is cool - you can find the way you like best.  But no matter what way you do - it looks great!
Below is some doodling showing the difference if you use a gel pen vs SU's new chalk marker - they booth look good - just a little different.  The gel pen is darker - but the chalk marker definitely looks more like chalk - so choose the look you like!
Stop back soon to see the greeting card we made with this technique.  ~Maureen

Feminine Birthday card!

Today I'm sharing my final card from our last Cards Stamp Camp - you may recognize it from this earlier post - http://crazystampinglady.blogspot.com/2013/08/club-hostess-gift.html.  It is the same card that I made a set of for my Club hostess.  I pinned it on Pinterest, and got so many repins that I was sure it was a hit.  So decided to make it again - just in Tangerine Tango this time.

It use the Creative Elements set from SU - and our two butterfly punches.  Simple and elegant - I love it.  Inside we added a "Happy Birthday" sentiment.   That's it!  ~Maureen

Happy Birthday To You!!

Today I'm sharing the second card we did at our last cards class.  This was our masculine birthday card (although I wouldn't mind getting it).  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from "Delightful Dozen."
The candles are just long rectangles of cardstock (3" x 3/4") topped off with flames made from the bird wing on our bird builder punch.  We sponged a little ink on them to mini a fire.  The entire focal rectangle is popped up on dimensionals to give the card a little pop.  Stop back tomorrow for card #3.  ~Maureen

Thank you Card!

Today I want to share a beautiful card we made at last week's Cards Stamp Camp.  It follows an elegant layout I saw on pinterest - white on white - with vertical and horizontal score lines for a subtle touch.  The colors are discontinued Regal Rose and Melon Mambo; and Wild Wasabi and Old Olive.
The flowers are two step from Stippled Blossoms - and the "Thank You", which I absolutely LOVE is from Four You.  A great set of verses.  The white layer and the flower are popped up on dimensionals - and a pearl is added for a touch of elegance.   Thanks for stopping by.   ~Maureen

Fun at the park!!

So the last few weeks Paul has had a couple Sunday's off so we wanted to take all the kiddos on a picnic - but the six older ones are hard to transport (no vehicle big enough :)  So we did two picnics!!  First week -the Jones kids!
Zamarah ready to slide!
Gramma with Paisley, Prince and Zamarah.
Paisley and Prince having fun!
Then the next week the King kids!
Kamili, Makai and Zav ready for fun!
Papa rock climbing with the crew.
On reason we went to this park is that they have an old Railroad station there with minature trains - the kids all loved it!
Fun days with our kiddos - glad we got the picnics in before school starts next week.  See you all soon!! ~Maureen

Club 3d project

So each month at our Technique Club we make a 3D project of some sort.  This month we made these adorable little battery operated tealight birthday cakes.  So cute and sweet!  a strip around the tealight - and a scallop for the top and the bottom.
Punch a little hole in the bottom scallop so you have access to the on/off button.  Decorate with flowers and pearls -
and voila - how cute is that!
See you soon!! ~Maureen

Club Hostess Gift

So this is the gift I gave to my club hostess this month.  It's the great SU chevron bags closed with a decorated butterfly clothespin.
Then inside I made this set of four beautiful butterfly cards - are those colors lovely!!  I used the "Creative Elements" stamp set and the two butterfly punches.  I think I'll need to make more of these.

Here's a close up of one of the cards.
I certainly hope my hostess, Veta, liked them.  See you soon!! ~Maureen

Fun at the Beach

Last Friday we were able to get the kids and grandkids together and head to the beach in Ventura.  The weather was great - overcast but warm.  Just a really nice day for all of us.
Papa and grandkids flying a kite
Our group checking out the waves.
Playing on the playground
More playing ......
and more playing ...
Kyan pretty much spent the time being  held by Gramma and taking in all the action.
Great family, great fun, great day!! Can't believe summer break is almost over!  ~Maureen

Magical Painting Tape Background

So here's the greeting card we made using the technique I shared with your yesterday.  For he card we used 1 1/2" painters tape instead of 1" to get the wider bands.  Colors are Crisp Cantalope, Calypso Coral and Summer Starfruit.  Then we stamped the flowers from Summer Silhouettes and a "Happy Birthday" verse to complete the card.  Again - let me say - I LOVE this technique.
Hope you liked it too!  ~Maureen

Club Technique

This month our technique was the "Magical Painting Tape" technique - it is all over the web and so easy.  But leaves a wonderful background.  Here is our 6x6" technique card for our binders.  I used three colors for my background (Garden Green, Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo) then stamped the beautiful branch with birds from Serene Silhouettes using Staz On Black.
I really am in love with this technique and can't wait to do more.  Stop back tomorrow to see the greeting card we made with this technique.  ~Maureen

My Convention Swap

So I know I shared this card before when we made it at a stamp camp - but I got such a great response on it, that I decided to make it for my convention swap.  I was in two organized swaps and made this card for both.  I really like it - especially the color combo - and others seemed to like it also.
I also made a convention gift for all of my downline - but at the last minute it did not work out - so I am just finishing them up and they'll get them in the mail.  Will share as soon as they are ready :)  See you soon!  ~Maureen

Christmas Card II

Okay - our second card from my Christmas Cards class this month - isn't it beautiful.  I copied a layout I found on Pinterest - and made it my own.  I used this pretty flower from the "Flower Shop" set - it reminded me of a Christmas rose - so I thought it was just perfect.  The leaves are punched from the Bird Builder punch.  The silver glitter paper adds just the right amount of bling!
My next Christmas Cards stamp camp is Sunday, August 25th - let me know if you'd like to join us.  ~Maureen

Christmas Card I

Here is the first of the two Christmas cards we made at last month's Christmas Card Stamp Camp.  We used some new Designer Series paper from the Holiday mini.  It has the polka dots and reminded me of snowballs.  We also used the new crumb cake note card envelopes - I really love this size for  a quick and easy card or a fast thank you note.

The trees are punched out of the pennant punch and layered to look like a cluster of trees.  I had two verses out so they could use it as a regular Christmas card or a thank you note after - and of course, I made some of each.  Hope you liked it!  ~Maureen
