Happy Halloween

Here's the cute little Halloween card that I mailed off to my grandkids!   So simple -yet adorable!  And with a little cash tucked in - they were a hit :)
You can see the bat below and how we folded the wings for dimension, and also the little mummy is popped up on dimensionals.  His eyes are SU! gems, just colored with sharpies!
The card matches the treats I was able to get to some of the kiddos when we saw them recently - the other crew got coupons for Frosty's at Wendy's!
And a close up of the candy topper - I kinda love this little mummy.
Hope your Halloween is fun and safe and full of goodies!  See you all soon!   ~Maureen

FUN with the Girl Scouts!

So recently I had the opportunity to stamp with a group of Brownie and Junior age girl scouts.  They were working toward a badge and as part of that I had them make these monogrammed photo albums.  The are the $1 - $2 plastic albums you can find at many stores.  We removed the front and back printed inserts and made inserts of our own.  Then added their own monogram initial to the front.
Inside they can keep all their picture memories of their scouting activities.  On the back insert I printed this page where they could fill in their name and troop number - along with a phrase from a popular Girl Scout song.
There were 20 girls making the project - so we had several different design options to choose from - Design 1 above, Design 2 below -
Design 3 -
And design 4 -
Each design used flowers and leaves from different sets, and different colored stamp pads - in a collage type pattern.  The girls seemed to love the craft - and I loved creating with them.  My only regret is that I didn't think to take a picture of the group with their creations :(  Thanks for having me stamp with you Troop #28!  ~Maureen

Thanksgiving 3-Nugget Container

So today I'm sharing the final project we made at Club this month - it's a cute little nugget holder - that I thought would be perfect to put at each place setting for Thanksgiving.  You could substitute the guest's name for the "for YOU" sentiment.

We used the Paisley and Posies Designer Series Paper as well as the Framelits to cut out the flourish for on top.

Here is a photo of the design to make this.  The Solid lines are scored, the lined sections are cut out, and the top little flap was corner rounded for a more finished look.  The size of DSP  you need is 5" x 5.25".  The Vertical score lines are at (from left to right) 1/2", 1", 4" and 4 1/2".  The horizontal score lines are at (from bottom to top) 1/2", 2 3/8", 2 7/8" and 4 3/4".  I scored everything first, then cut out the sections indicated, corner rounded my top flap and folded together and secured it.
Here you can see the little box open - and the decorated nuggets inside.
Such a cute little treat for your guests at Thanksgiving - or any day.

Off to do more creating :)   ~Maureen

Copper Fall Leaves

Today I'm sharing the card we made at Club using our Copper Emboss powder for heat embossing.  I've been stamping nearly 20 years - and heat embossing is still a WOW for me.  We embossed the maple leaf with the copper and then sponged with fall colors of ink before cutting out on the Big Shot.

The sentiment was also embossed with copper, and it's hard to see, but we ran some copper thread around the burlap ribbon before attaching to the card - for a little extra coppery bling.

The base was made using our Timeless Textures and Gorgeous Grunge sets - just putting a smattering of the spots in Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze after doing the edges with Soft Suede and sponging.  Also - you can see above we attached the leaf just down the center - so the edges would stick up a bit and give the card some dimension.
Fall is my favorite season of the year - and all the fall colors just warm my heart.  We were fortunate enough to be in the mid-west a couple weeks ago, as all the leaves were starting to turn - such beauty!!  See you all soon!  ~Maureen
