Diaper Cake for Kyan

Okay all - we are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of my newest grandson, Kyan. He is taking his time in arriving :)  So in the meantime I wanted to share the diaper cake I made for a little luncheon Jenee and I threw for Heidi.  I think it turned out ready cute - and who can't use more diapers with a new baby coming.  Here is the front of the cake - with the fun ball at the top and a couple pacifiers.
And the back of the cake with a bath scrubby, rattle, teething ring . . .
and of course these cute little sock roses - aren't they adorable??
It was so much fun making this - now we just need Kyan here to use some of this stuff :)  ~Gramma

Cards for the Troops~

Just as promised today I'm sharing the three cards we made for the troops - around 20 each.  I wanted cards that were simple and lovely and had general sayings that could be used by almost anyone.  I think these three meet those requirements.  Hope you like them.  ~Maureen

Celebrating Kyan!

Most of you who know me know we're anxiously awaiting the birth of our seventh grandchild - a boy - Kyan.  He is due any time now, so last week we had a little shower to honor him.  Since this was baby number 4 for Heidi we didn't want to do a traditional shower - so instead we invited a bunch of our stamping friends over to stamp cards for our troops.  Here are the ladies creating ---

Here's Mommy to be - Heidi!
And even though we said no gifts necessary - she received many wonderful things for this new little guy!

Including this blanket I crocheted for him.

It was really a nice day for all, and our thanks to Kathy B. for sending off the nearly 60 cards we made.  it was great to do this in celebration of Kyan soon to be arrival.  Thanks to all who came.  Stop back tomorrow to see the cards we made.  ~Maureen

Paper Pumpkin Class...

So I am sure most of you have heard of Paper Pumpkin...Right?  It is the amazing kit that comes to you in the mail every month!  And each month you receive a SURPRISE craft to do - cards, 3-D, etc!  Well, we decided to make a class out of it :)  Since Paper Pumpkin is geared toward those who want a quick craft to do (usually about 1/2 hour to complete the kit as it comes), we figured why not step it up a bit and show a few other things to do with the kit for those of you who want MORE!
Come join me for my first class where you'll complete the projects below - Saturday, April 27, 12:30 - 2:00 PM.  Cost for this class is $20.00 as it includes the "try-it" kit.  Limit 10 and you must RSVP to come*  So here are the first class projects you'll be making . . .
Above is the "original" intention for the kit...pretty cute huh?  Adorable little journal.
Then below are two items we'll make with some of the product and some additional product than what comes with the kit that we'll provide you at the class.  Just to give you a few ideas of how versatile these kits can be!
Then below is a ramped up version of the kit, with a few extras on it:)  Showing how you can step it UP!!
So do I have you intrigued?  All you have to do to get the Paper Pumpkin kit in your mailbox each month is click here and specify me as your demonstrator:)  You must sign-up by the 10th of the month to get that month's kit. Then every month I will offer the class for my Paper Pumpkin subscribers for only $5.00!!!!  Can't make the class one month?  No biggie! You are already getting a great deal for the kit and we'll post the ideas if you want to try and make them!
Hope you join today!!!  ~Maureen

PS. If you're coming to the class why not plan to stay for my OPEN Crop and Craft time from 2:00 - 4:30 PM - cost $5 and a snack to share.  Bring your own projects, and you can use my non-consumables - punches, big shot, etc.  You can also use any of my stamp sets, but you must let me know which ones at sign-up.  Limit 12 and you must RSVP to hold your spot.

Challenge Card Winner

The challenge at our last downline meeting was to make your best tri-fold card.  Julie was our winner and here is her beautiful card.  The heart section opens to the right, while the dicut section opens to the left. It was our only entry so she won - but it looks like a winner to me anyway.
You can go to Julie's blog and see more of her work - on my sidebar - Simi Stamper!!.  Way to go Julie.  ~Maureen

Easter Celebration

I love Easter - the celebration of the resurrection of my Savior - it is a day filled with so much hope.  We are blessed to have family close by to celebrate this special day with, so we hosted Easter dinner.  Here are the cute decorations I had on my counter as a centerpiece.
And here is is again from the other side.
A view of our table(s) - we actually put three tables end to end and were able to have everyone sit together.
I had these little egg cups going down the center of the table filled with jelly beans.  Then each person had their only little mini easter basket at the place with some yummies.
Below - Zamarah, Paisley and Prince (with Mom in the background :)
 Kamili, Makai and Zavian
 And the whole crew!!!
What a nice day with family to celebrate such an important part of our lives.  Stop back soon to see our egg hunt pictures - the kids had so much fun!!   ~Maureen

Easter Treat Containers

Today I want to show you a couple of the cute Easter treat containers I made - the first is this adorable little Easter basket.  We made these at club, and they are really so easy.  I'll try and get a picture tutorial up soon.
The second treat containers I made with the Simply Sent kit from Sale-a-bration.  Just a few scores, cuts and folds and VOILA!!  These I filled with mini candybars for my student workers at the college.
Here's a close of the little box!
Cute huh - and they could be adapted for almost any event.  ~Maureen

Paper pieced Card

FIRST:  Just a reminder that FREE shipping from Stampin' Up! ends at 11:50 PM MT tonight.  You can order directly through my website at www.stampingwithmaureen.stampinup.net  Click "shop now" in the upper right.

So here's the card we made at club this month using the Paper-Piecing technique.  I love it because we stamped right on the Designer Series Paper to get that beautiful print on the flowers.  Cut them out, curled the petals and attached to flower stem.  The pearls in the middle of the flower add that little elegant touch.

Here's a close-up of those lovely flowers.

Hope you liked it - see you soon!!!   ~Maureen
