It's Palm Sunday, and my hubby's birthday - and time to share another great project and free tutorial!  This week I'm sharing an adorable Easter card that makes me smile.  I hope you like it as much as I do!

Storybook Life

Supplies:

 

·       Stamp Sets: Storybook Life (166635)

·       Card Stock and Paper: Basic White (159276)

Boho Blue (161724), Old Olive (100702) Pecan Pie (161717), Storybook Moments DSP (164662)

·       Stamp Pads: Boho Blue (161650) Craft White (147277)

·       Tools: Spotlight on Nature dies (163580)

·       Miscellaneous: Adhesive Sequins (161206)

 

Measurements:

 

·       Boho Blue: 5 ½” x 8 ½”

·       Old Olive: 3 1/8” x 3 7/8”

·       Basic White: 3” x 3”

·       Pecan Pie: 1 ¼” x 5”

·       Boho Blue Designer paper: 3” x 3 ¾”

 

Instructions:

 

1.    Cut a 5 ½” x 8 ½” Boho Blue card base. Fold in half.

2.    Stamp the sentiment onto the card front from top to bottom using Boho Blue ink.

3.    Cut the Boho Blue floral pattern from the designer paper to 3” x 3 ¾”

4.    Cut a 3 1/8” x 3 7/8” piece of Old Olive cardstock.

5.    Adhere the designer paper to the Old Olive paper.

6.    Adhere the panel to the center of the card front.

7.    Cut a 2 ¾” circle from Basic White cardstock.

8.    Choose the desired punch outs from the designer paper and adhere to the circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

9.    Adhere the circle to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

10. Stamp the sentiment onto Pecan Pie cardstock using Craft White ink. Let dry completely. Cut apart.

11. Adhere the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

12. Adhere (5) sequins randomly to the card front.

Easter Card Follow up

So during the Stampin Friend Blog Hop - I shared my Easter card - you can see it as the last image in this post.  But I need several to send out, and as much as I love stamping and creating - I am not good at doing tons of the same thing.  I just need to change it up a little.  So today I am sharing two more samples - with basically all the same materials - but just a slightly different look. 

Sample 1 - with two butterflies punched - pearls and gems.

Sample 2 - with one large butterfly die-cut and gems.

I think they are actually all very pretty - springy - Eastery :)  Sometimes it's fun to just switch it up a bit.  Stop back soon for some more creative ideas! ~Maureen

SF March Hop - EASTER

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Easter Blog Hop!  This month we have 2 amazing guest hoppers that you should DEFINITELY check out - Mandy Reedyk and Sue Vine.  I had so much fun creating these projects for this month's hop.  I love Spring and it has it has Sprung for sure here in Prescott - just look at these beautiful blossoms on my Ornamental plum tree. 

So I was inspired by the gorgeous pink and here's what I came up with.  The first picture is a bit washed out - but I wanted to show the two projects side by side.

But this photo shows the coloring more accurately.  I used two of the projects that you can get free till March 31 during Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration.  Products are listed at the end.  They came together beautifully.  I started by sponging color randomly over the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper - then punched out a partial circle and layered it on Bermuda Bay cardstock and the white base.  Finally I cut out the butterfly from our SAB Glimmer paper on the Big Shot and adhered with a glue dot and added a few gems.

The little treat bag was sponged the same way and the butterfly adhered the same way.  After I added a few little treats to it, I closed it with a mini paperclip and a bit of glimmery ribbon.  I used the pattern information from Lynn Ellis on her blog HERE.

Personal Post Monday

No stamping today - just Easter memories.  Celebrated with the Kings and some other family and friends.  Missing Jenee and the kiddos something awful.  But remembering all the things we are thankful for - life is so full of blessings - can't dwell on things that are not perfect.  So sharing a picture of Heidi and Aaron and the kids.  Glad they were able to be here.

Didn't get any other pictures - not sure  how the day got away from me.  Did get a video of the Easter Egg hunt though - so have that to remember the day by.  Also wanted to share the beautiful eggs I dyed.  Just couldn't let Easter go by without a few eggs.  The rich colors come from starting with brown eggs - love how they turned out.

Here are a few of the Easter cards I sent out this year.  Quick, pretty easy - but I think beautiful - and the sentiment says it all.   

"Sharing in the JOY of His indescribable GIFT."

This is a hard Easter for me as Jenee and her kids will not be here.  Don't think we've ever celebrated Easter without them :(  But they are definitely in my heart and thoughts.  Missing them!  But this is life - and as Paul and I retire and move - I am sure this will happen - we just need to be extra thankful  for all the times we have and will have together.  ~Maureen

More Easter Fun!

Just had to share a few more Easter pics - here's the crew of grandkids - had to share two pics as some look great in one - some in the other - between the two we did pretty good :)

There is a story behind Kyan being in the basket.  Every grandchild has an Easter picture in this basket -so we had to get him in there also.

Easter Egg Decorating!

Such a fun Easter.  We all were able to get together at our Prescott home to celebrate this blessed holiday - and Saturday we decorated eggs.  I always wondered how people got such rich colors on their eggs and now I know - they start with brown eggs.  Here is the crew have fun!

Was so fun, everyone had a great time - no fighting - just making beautiful eggs!!  Love those kiddos! ~Gramma

Easter baskets

How adorable are these - little mini Easter baskets.  Had so much fun making these little guys.  I started with a 4 x 5.5" rectangle of Soft Suede cardstock and ran it through the SU Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder - then cut off 1/2" for the handle leave a 4 x 5" piece for the basket.

With the long edge of the rectangle against the top of Simply Scored - I scored at 1,2,3 and 4" then turned the piece so the short side was at the top and scored at 1.5 x 2.5"  Fold on all score lines and cut the flaps that were scored at 1,2,3 and 4" up to the center section.  Then folded the outside one in first and connected, brought up the other flaps and connected.  Cut a circle to cover all the loose ends.  I had punched a small hold in the ends of the handle, then used the crop-a-dile to punch through all the layers of flaps and the folded circle and attached all with the gold brad.

Added a few flowers, some little leaves and some iridescent filler to make this adorable little basket all ready to fill with some yummy treats.

 

 Stinkin' cute!!  Now I have to make up a bunch of these little guys before Easter arrives.  ~Maureen

Easter Celebration

I love Easter - the celebration of the resurrection of my Savior - it is a day filled with so much hope.  We are blessed to have family close by to celebrate this special day with, so we hosted Easter dinner.  Here are the cute decorations I had on my counter as a centerpiece.

 A view of our table(s) - we actually put three tables end to end and were able to have everyone sit together.

 I had these little egg cups going down the center of the table filled with jelly beans.  Then each person had their only little mini easter basket at the place with some yummies.
