ICS Blog Hop - July 2025 - Sketch!

Welcome to our Inspire - Create - Share Blog Hop for July 2025!  So glad you are here! This month we are doing something different - a sketch challenge!
So - check out mine, and then hop on through all the other blogs listed to see what they did with this sketch!

~*~*~*~*~
So I do sketch challenges on my site every month for my own followers - but this was tough for me - following a sketch from someone else.  I played around a bit before settling on using the Darling Dinos bundle.

I used the Turtle-y Cute DSP for my banner - which was perfect for a fun birthday card.  And added some Rainbow Adhesive Dots for my embellishment - and again - they were perfect.  Pulling from the colors in the DSP - I predominately colored with Pool Party and Darling Duckling.

Sometimes adding little touches can add depth to your projects.  Here I used my blending brushes to add blue for the sky and brown for the ground - barely noticible - but really adds some character.  Then of course I needed to decorate the envelope -

Hope you liked this fun idea!
Now, be sure to follow this hop through, and see what other creative ideas this group of talented women came up with.

·       Miscellaneous: 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls (165192); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Stampin’ Seal Adhesive (152813)

 Measurements:

 ·       Timid Tiger Card Stock: 8 ½” x 5 ½”

·       Darling Duckling Card Stock: 8 ½” x 5 ½”

·       Granny Apple Green Card Stock: 11” x 1 ½”

·       Pecan Pie Card Stock: 2” x 1”

·       Basic White Card Stock: ½” x 2 ½”, 5” x 3 ¾”

·       DSP: 5 ¼” x 4”

 Instructions:

 1.    Card Base: Fold the Timid Tiger Cardstock in half to form your card base.

2.    Background: Adhere the Country Wood DSP to the front of the card.

3.    Leaves & Stem: Stamp the stem and two leaves onto the 11" strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock. Die-cut all three pieces.

4.    Flower Center: Die-cut the flower center from Pecan Pie cardstock. Use the Dark Pecan Pie Blend to color some of the die-cut triangle details.

5.    Flowers: Die-cut the double flower and detailed flower from Darling Duckling cardstock. Cut apart the double flower and flip one piece over. Stamp the coordinating flower image onto both pieces using Darling Duckling ink. Do not stamp the detailed flower piece.

6.    Ink Blending: Using a Blending Brush and Timid Tiger ink, add color to the top center of each flower piece. Start with the darkest color in the middle and blend outward to create a gradient effect.

7.    Assemble Flowers:

·       Adhere one of the stamped flowers to the upper right front of the card.

·       Adhere the flower stem on top of this flower.

·       Attach the second flower over the stem, only applying adhesive to the center so the petals lift slightly.

·       Layer the detailed flower over both, again using adhesive only at the center.

·       Curl the petals slightly with a bone folder to give a realistic look.

8.    Add Flower Center: Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the Pecan Pie flower center.

9.    Attach Leaves: Adhere the leaves along the stem as shown.

10. Sentiment: Stamp your greeting on the ½” strip of Basic White cardstock. Flag both ends using paper snips. Adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

11. Finishing Touches: Add three Timid Tiger Flat Pearls to embellish the card front.

12. Inside & Envelope: Stamp the inside of the card and the envelope to coordinate.
