ICS Blog Hop - June 2025 - It's a Guy Thing!

Welcome to our Inspire - Create - Share Blog Hop for June 2025!  So glad you are here! This month we are focusing on - It's a Guy Thing!  I ALWAYS need masculine cards and they are tough - I lean toward flowers and pretty ribbons and embellishments - but those just don't work for our guys.
So check out my projects - to see my take on this theme - then hop on through all the other blogs listed!
~*~*~*~*~

One of my favorite ways to make masculine cards is to make some great backgrounds with our punches and DSP.  The current Online Exclusive Woven Textures DSP is perfect for this type of card - so I will be sharing a couple of those I made.

First card uses many different patterns from this DSP and "To the Point Label" punch.  But placing the punched images in a random pattern - it makes for a wonderful background. The stamped images are from the "Textured Notes" set.

The second card uses the "Labeled With Love" punch and for this one I just alternated the same two patterns back and forth.

I love both of these cards.  To me they really have a masculine look - and by just adding a sentiment, some simple Linen thread elements; and the metal "Pressed Flower Motifs" embellishment - the cards turned out great.  These embellishments may say flower, but to me they just have a cool pattern and the metal makes them very masculine.  They are a bit on the heavy side, so probably wouldn't want to add more than three - but three is a great number!

Hope you liked this fun idea!
Now, be sure to follow this hop through, and see what other creative ideas this group of talented women came up with.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities - Mountain Majesties - May 2025

Welcome to our Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop!  I am so excited to be a part of this team of hoppers sharing alternative designs for each month's Paper Pumpkin kit.  This month's kit is all about the May 2025 Mountain Majesties kit!!  Hopefully what we show will inspire you.  Be sure to hop all the way through to see what this amazing team has come up with!

May: Mountain Majesties
~*~*~*~*~*~
So excited for this kit, as I NEVER have enough male cards - and this kit is definately filling that void.  Here are the two alternatives I came up with this month.  Hope you like them.
Just to let you know - just like last month, these bases are so great that I had to cut them all in half to double the cards I can make -  that means I'll get 18 cards.  So here is what I created with just one base - cutting the front to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and backside down to 4" x 5 1/4".
My first card is layered onto a base of Basic Basic White - but covers the entire front of it.  I took the punch out piece from below on the left, and cut it down a bit, then cut the remaining into three vertical strips.
I then layered those three pieces onto Basic Black and cut around them - and popped them back up over the card base front with dimensions.  I also used the punched out sentiment - placed it onto one of the white labels, and cut that down and flagged it on the bottom edge. These are masculine cards for sure - and they are so great - so I skipped any additional embellishments.  Love the way it looks.
The envelopes in this kit are very cool also, and I can't guarantee I won't be cutting a few of them apart to use on more cards.
Then I layered the other piece of the cardbase onto a Basic White base and allowed the white edge to show.  For this card I popped up the Trees piece on dimensionals.  Then stamped the flock of birds above the mountains and the Happy Birthday on a flagged label piece.
My fun on this card was using Lost Lagoon and Misty Moonlight pads and the blending brush to add some similar wavy images to the inside of the card and the envelope.  I just used a piece of cardstock that I cut a bit wavy.

I just love the way both of these turned out and am looking forward to finishing the rest of the kit.
I hope you've enjoyed these alternative ideas.  Now be sure to hop through the rest to get some more great inspiration.  Don't forget to leave a comment, as we'd love to hear what you think.
