Sweet Treat Holder

So how cute is this???  It is the sweetest little treat holder using our little french fry box.  Real Red is definitely the color of LOVE!  Added some cute little banners and a medallion using the Stacked with Love DSP.  It is quick and easy and you can make up a bunch in no time at all.

But did you see the kisses - I punched 3/4" circles from the DSP and attached the circles with glue dots to the bottom of the kisses.  It is such a cute little finishing touch.  Hope you are inspired to make some special treat holders for your friends and family. ~Maureen

Clean and Cute Card 2

So here is the other card I made for my Cute and Clean Stamp Camp.  I LOVE everything in this year's Sale-a-bration catalog - and this card is the perfect example why.  Isn't it LOVELY!  For this card there are two ways to make it and I like both.  The first uses our Irresistibly cardstock sponged with Old Olive so that the resist design pops through -
But here it is not sponged and very elegant looking with the glossy tone on tone.
Not sure which I like better - so I ended up doing a few of both - the look great either way.  Below you can see them side by side.
Let me know your favorite.  And check out my website www.stampingwithmaureen.stampinup.net to order and get your FREE sale-a-bration product with each $50 purchase, and you can have your order shipped right to your home.  Any questions - let me know!   ~Maureen

Cute & Clean Card 1

Today I'm showing the card I designed for this month's Cute and Clean Stamp Camp.  It uses some terrific products from the current Sale-a-bration Catalog - that you can get FREE with a $50 merchandise purchase.  I love the crisp cleanness of this card.  It's bright and cheery - and the sentiment can be used for so many things - Best Day Ever - the day you were born; or the day we met; or yesterday, being with you; or Sunday when we went to Disneyland.....get it!
This card is pretty much just a series of layers with a big, bold verse - and that's all it needs.  Nothing is even popped up - it's all just taped together.  The ribbon tied around the flower and the pearl center - give it just those added touches to make it extra special.

It uses three different items from Sale-a-bration - the ribbon, the DSP and the stamp set - see info below.  Hope you like it as much as I do - let me know with your comments.  ~Maureen

Bokeh Technique in a beautiful card

As promised here is the card we made at this month's Technique Club - I have two different samples for your here - the one on the left was made and allowed to air dry and the one on the right was dried with the heat tool to speed up the process.  I like the way both turned out, but they definitely give a little different look.
At this angle you can really see the technique and the first one is sharp - but the second one is a bit more blurred like the actual bokeh photography technique looks. Then here below is the one air dried - which took a couple days -the circles of white are still pretty crisp and clear.
and hers is the one dried with the heat tool - which took a few minutes.  The circles lost their definition a little - they actually faded a lot, and I had to go back over them again with more white ink.
Of the two I think the first version is nicer and crisper, but the second a little more water spotty - in a pinch either will work - it's still beautiful.  One of the artsy background techniques that will be a bit different every time you do it.  Let me know your thoughts!  ~Maureen

Bokeh is a photography technique where you purposely defocus the lens to create a softness in the lighting of the picture - here's a sample -
But a recent stamping trend, has brought this look to stamping - so for technique club this month we tried it -
It is really beautiful and makes a great background that needs very little else to go with it.
Here are several of the layers I was working on.  Stop back soon to see the card we made with this background. ~Maureen
