Today I'm sharing my final card from my last Parks and Rec class - it uses the Sale-a-bration Sycamore Street paper, ribbon and buttons. Plus the great Happy Birthday Stamp from January's "Best of 25 Years" limited edition stamp set.
We used the postage stamp punch to punch out squares of the paper and then just layered them in a row - you could do this with any pretty paper. The "Happy Birthday" oval is punched out and popped up on dimensionals. The cute little bow and button finish it off perfectly. Hope you like it ~Maureen

Parks and Rec - Celebrate!
Here's another card from my most recent Parks and Rec Class - it uses the Feeling Sentimental set from this year's SU Sale-a-bration event - it's one of the sets you can get FREE with a $50 purchase. I love the nostalgic feel of the images. Se stamped the Ferris Wheel, added a brad to the middle of it, and sponged around the edge with Soft Suede to give it a Vintage feel.
Also added a couple little newsprint banners that we also sponged - it reminded me of the banners blowing in the wind at the local fair. This will be a perfect birthday card for one of my 7 brothers :) Stop back soon!! ~Maureen

Parks and Rec Card III
So today I'm sharing the third card we made at the last Parks and Rec class - this was my FAVORITE!! I love butterflies - but what I really love is the gray and turquoise colors together. After I posted this I realize this was one I did after the class - the verse we used there was "Kindness Matters" but everything else is the same. Sorry I took a picture of the wrong one - but it shows you how versatile a card like this is - just change out the verse for what you need.
This card uses the "Kindness Matters" set. The middle butterfly is cut out and popped up on a glue dot, and we added some pretty little pearls. The banner strip is from the Twitterpated Designer Series paper in our big catalog and the background is embossed using the "Lacy Brocade" embossing folder from the Holiday catalog - it has a very elegant and lacy look. The butterfly layer was cut out using one of the framelits from "Apothecary Accents." Love this card - and I think it would be pretty in many different color combinations.
Have a happy day! ~Maureen

Park and Rec Card II
Today I'm sharing the second card we made at my last Parks and Rec class - this one features the "My Friend" set from the current catalog. I've got to tell you - this set is difficult for me - it's one of those sets with lots of different styles in it. I wanted a bit of a retro look - so did the tear drops hanging down on the Crumb Cake base. We then colored random ones in with Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Daffodil. To mimic that hanging down tear drop part we strung a piece of bakers twine around the card (it's slipped through a small circle punch at the top of the card - at the crease.)
The oval is punched and strung on the bakers twine - along with the "My Friend" banner. Then we paper pieced one little tear drop to match the patter on the oval. I like how it came out - hope you do to. See you soon! ~Maureen

Parks and Rec
Here is card one from my most recent Parks and Rec class - It uses "French Foliage" an absolute favorite of mine in the fall. We added the speckles from the set, linen thread and torn edges to give all of that natural fall feel to the card - and of course decorated the envelope to match. I think it would be a great Thanksgiving card - but also a nice card to send to a hostess as a thank you after hosting a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.
Hope you liked it - stop back soon!! ~Maureen

Parks and Rec Card 3
Here is the final card we made at my last Parks and Rec class - we used Now Quite Navy for the monochromatic color scheme - it is a favorite of mine and I forget to go to it. The card uses the reverse masking technique to spotlight the circle that the butterfly is on. The butterfly (from the Papillon Potpourri SU set) is cut out and attached with a glue dot so the wings fold up and give some dimension. This card is great for many things - here I used "Dare to Dream" which would be great for a birthday, graduation, promotion - but it works equally well with a sympathy or thinking of you verse.
Hope you liked it. Stop back soon!! ~Maureen

Happy Halloween - Just a bit late!
Here's the 2nd card we made for Park and Rec this month - sharing a little late huh!! Have had no energy and just didn't get it posted on time. But had to still share as this little guy just shouts "Happy Halloween!!" This card uses Very Vanilla, Basic Black and Daffodil Delight Cardstock; and the Jack of all Trades stamp set - all from Stampin' Up!. Note the little orange gem on his hat - we colored our stamping up gems with an orange sharpie -and it came out so cute.
My health has been really acting up - so I didn't even get any of these out in the mail on time :( Guess I'm ready for next year. Happy Stamping!!! ~Maureen

Parks and Rec Oct15
Today I want to share the first of three cards that we made at my last Parks and Rec class. I really love the way this flower looks in Fall colors. I think it was a favorite by everyone who attended.....
We used Crumbcake, Very Vanilla and More Mustard cardstock, More Mustard, Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze inks and the Field Flowers 2-step stamping stamp set. With a little Crumb Cake ribbon for an accent. I think you can see the flowers are stamped separately, cut out and popped up on dimensionals. Hope you like it! See you soon ~Maureen

Parks and Rec Class
Thought I'd share a few more of the cards we made in this last round of Parks and Rec classes - the first one uses the Ronald McDonald charities sets - It is so fresh and bright and cute. It's similar to my shoebox swap card we'll be making at Convention - so watch for a picture of that when I get back.
This next card has a lot of dimension to it. The flower is made by punching scallops out of the brown paper that comes in our Stampin' Up! orders - that's right - I'm GREEN by reusing it. I just attached the layers together with a brad, scrunched them and sponged the edges. I really like the look. Here is from the top so you can see the dimension of it.
And here it is from the front.
The last card uses one of my favorite masculine sets "Open Seas" - we did a type of collage background, then popped the ship up on top.

Sympathy card using SU's Love and Sympathy set. It is such an elegant set.
Second card was a welcome baby - using some non-traditional baby colors. The baby buggy is paper pieced. This card uses SU's Baby Bundle set - love it!!
This final Happy Birthday card was made using the new Papillon Potpourri set and the new Elegant Butterfly punch. This punch is amazing - how pretty is that focal point.

Parks and Rec Class
I'm doing a Monday night class for Parks and Rec and I'm going to share my cards from last week - the first is similar - but a bit simpler - to one I posted earlier from my club. I just love the gray and pink together.
The ladies liked them - hope you did too! Stop back soon! ~Maureen
Second we went bright - So fun and festive.
Finally a cute card using retired Sale-a-bration paper - I LOVED this paper - and hope we come back with some thing similar in the future. The ladies liked them - hope you did too! Stop back soon! ~Maureen
