Paper Crafting Blog Hop March 2024 - Sympathy/Thinking of You!

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for March 2024 - featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. We have a wide array of projects and design styles to share with you this month - and every one of them is spotlighting Sympathy and Thinking of You projects.

~*~*~*~*~

So for my post I am using an amazing Bundle from out Spring Mini Catalog that I just love - and the deep rich colors make it perfect for masculine cards and sympathy cards. That is the Notes of Nature Bundle.

#162640 Notes of Nature Bundle - $46.75

I really don't love doing Sympathy cards, but I need them, and like to have them done already when I need to send. I like them to be beautiful, but subtle, and so many I make have flowers - but I need a few masculine ones. So that being said, here is my card -

I started with a base of Basic White CS 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4".  I added a layer of Pebbled Path CS 3 3/4" x 5"; a layer of Pecan Pie 3" x 4" and a layer of Nature's Sweetness Specialty DSP 3" x 4".

Sentiment is stamped and punched out with the Heartfelt Hexagon bundle.

I added some little foliage pieces that were diecut out of Pebbled Path and Pecan Pie using the Notes of Nature dies.

Final touches - a little bow from our Baker's Twine Essentials pack; and three gems from the 2023-25 In Color Dots pack.

It all came together perfectly and then I finished the envelope with the same simple stamped image -

I hope you like it. Thank you so much for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts and comments!

Paper Crafting Blog Hop June 2022 - Sympathy!

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for June 2022 - featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. We have a wide array of projects and design styles to share with you this month - all spotlighting - SYMPATHY!

~*~*~*~*~

For my project I was searching for a sympathy sentiment when I came across 'Peaceful Moments' on page 29 of the new Annual catalog - I love the combo of script and non-script in these sentiments. Then on page 28 I saw the perfect card to CASE - it's the blue one with flowers - and I loved the layout. I used probably non-traditional colors-more like Christmas colors, but I think they worked.

Here's a picture of the card I cased - what a great layout!
And here's the card I came up with -
I'm sure the "always remember" sentiment was made for remembering veterans with the poppy - but I thought still very appropriate. Here's the inside of the card -
Simple - no frills - just heartfelt thoughts in a time of loss. Fortunately, at this time I have no need for a sympathy card - so this will be ready next time I need one.
I hope you got some inspiration from this card. Thank you so much for stopping by and I would love any comments!

Hopping Around the World Blog Hop October - Sympathy

Once again, so very happy to be hopping with this lovely group of stampers for the month of October as we share some beautiful Sympathy Cards with you.  Be sure to hop on through the links at the end for some wonderful inspiration.

~*~*~*~*~

For my card today I tried a new technique - the four from one center collage.  I started with a piece of Whisper White that was 10 1/2" x 8".  I drew a cross by putting a pencil line down the middle of the cardstock each way.  Then you stamp somewhat symmetrically out from the center and along the lines you drew.  I cut mine apart then on the lines and mounted on four bases getting this -

I placed them back together somewhat so you could see how I did the stamping.  For these cards I used one of my favorite sets - Forever Ferns -

#152559  $24.00

and several different colors.  Next I pulled out my Timeless Tulips set -

#151534  $18.00
and stamped my sentiments - one for the front of the card that I punched and layered; and one for the center.  These sentiments are just so perfect for a card that shows heartfelt sympathy.

I also stamped on the envelope and inside -

That left me three other cards that I can add sentiments to as I need them.

This is such a fun, quick and easy way to have cards ready for any occasion.  Especially nice when I need a sympathy card - as those are really hard for me to make when needed.  I hope you will try  your hand at this and see what you can come up with.

Now be sure to "hop" on through the rest of the blogs on the list below to see all their great ideas.  Before moving on, be sure to leave me a comment at the bottom of this post - they make my day!

With Sympathy

Sympathy cards are always hard for me to make - especially when I need them.  So I try and make them ahead of time so I'm not in the moment.  I shared last time about my brother's passing.  But in the past two months we also lost my hubby's cousin, my Sister-in-law's mother, a friend's hubby and a friend's daughter.  Such losses can be a bit overwhelming.  So I'm going to share the last group of sympathy cards I made.
These were done at a class last month - and customers were able to choose a different verse, if they didn't need sympathy.
It was put together from a few different cards I saw on Pinterest -and I really liked the elegance of it.  Below you can see that pearls were added; and also the dimension of the card.
Although I hate to make sympathy cards - I love having them ready when I need them.  This batch is now gone - so time to make some more.
Hug those you love today!  ~Maureen
