Hopping Around the World Blog Hop October - Sympathy

Once again, so very happy to be hopping with this lovely group of stampers for the month of October as we share some beautiful Sympathy Cards with you.  Be sure to hop on through the links at the end for some wonderful inspiration.

~*~*~*~*~

For my card today I tried a new technique - the four from one center collage.  I started with a piece of Whisper White that was 10 1/2" x 8".  I drew a cross by putting a pencil line down the middle of the cardstock each way.  Then you stamp somewhat symmetrically out from the center and along the lines you drew.  I cut mine apart then on the lines and mounted on four bases getting this -

I placed them back together somewhat so you could see how I did the stamping.  For these cards I used one of my favorite sets - Forever Ferns -

#152559  $24.00

and several different colors.  Next I pulled out my Timeless Tulips set -

#151534  $18.00
and stamped my sentiments - one for the front of the card that I punched and layered; and one for the center.  These sentiments are just so perfect for a card that shows heartfelt sympathy.

I also stamped on the envelope and inside -

That left me three other cards that I can add sentiments to as I need them.

This is such a fun, quick and easy way to have cards ready for any occasion.  Especially nice when I need a sympathy card - as those are really hard for me to make when needed.  I hope you will try  your hand at this and see what you can come up with.

Hopping Around the World Blog Hop September -Halloween Fun!

Once again, so very happy to be hopping with this lovely group of stampers for the month of September as we share some Halloween fun with you.  Be sure to hop on through the links at the end for some SPOOKY inspiration.

~*~*~*~*~

For my card today - I chose to make a simple spinner card - this was a request by a member of one of my technique club members - so why not go Halloween! This bat was just calling out to me saying it wanted to "spin" lol!

I used Stampin' Up!'s linen thread, Memento Ink, Cajun Craze marker, the Hallows Night Magic set and coordinating dies from the bundle. And for the card above I cut the bats out of the coordinating Magic in the Night DSP -

Magic in the Night DSP #153517 $11.50 USD
Simple Spinner Instructions - Start with an A2 card base and a DSP layer that is 5 ¼” x 4”.  Layer the DSP lightly on the front of the card base with a small amount of snail or seal (1/4” to hold temporarily).  Cut through both layers with a punch or die cut to make a window opening.  At the top of the opening on the card base front only, secure one end of the twine with strong adhesive.  Next punch/cut two symmetrical images (you can also layer images on a square or circle, etc.).  Adhere these back to back on the twine in the center of the opening, so that it will be able to spin freely.  Then secure the other end of the twine with strong adhesive to the bottom of the opening.  Layer your DSP layer on the front to cover the twine – it should line up perfectly.  Decorate card as desired.  Twist the image about 5 times before closing card – when you open it, image should spin freely.
Above is the same card - but for this one I stamped and die cut the bat images on Whisper White, rather than cutting from the DSP - kind of a positive and negative contrast in them.
And here's the card open -  you can see how the big bat freely would spin, and there is a strip of white with a creepy spider image where you can write your sentiment.  Of course, if you wanted to write more - you could always add another panel to the back of your card.  These and fun and easy to make and could be duplicated in any theme. Try one and let me know how it goes!

Hopping Around the World Blog Hop July - Christmas in July!

Once again, so very happy to be hopping with this lovely group of stampers for the month of July as we start planning for the holidays this month with Christmas in July.  Each of our hoppers will make a lovely project related to Christmas - so you can get some inspiration and be ahead of the game this year!

All it took for me was to get my new August-December Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog - for me to smile!!!  It is awesome - so much new product, but also lots of returning items.  So I pulled out some of my old products and have been playing!  Here are two ideas - the first uses products from the returning Most Wonderful Time product medley.  It is cute and clean and easily reproducible.  I just love the little stars for the trees - and non-traditional gray packages.
Then for my second card I used the returning Christmas Gleaming Variety Bundle - it was absolutely a favorite last year and I'm so glad it returned.  I especially loved the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP - and was thrilled they brought it back - it's even part of the bundle this time.  I paired it with some copper foil to match the copper elements in the paper for this beauty -
I really wanted to use returning products, as many of you may have these on hand from last year and can start creating NOW!  I hope this makes you want to get out your holiday stamps and start creating.   Now be sure to "hop" on through the rest of the blogs on the list below to see all their great takes on this same sketch.  Before moving on, be sure to leave a comment at the bottom of this post - they make my day!

Hopping Around the World Blog Hop April - Sketch!

Once again, so very happy to be hopping with this lovely group of stampers for the month of April as we change it up a bit this month with a Sketch for you.  Each of our hoppers will make a lovely card using this sketch -
I decided to use our Bonanza Buddies bundle of products and DSP as I soooooo love them, and just found out they will be retiring when the new June catalog starts.  Note: retiring products are only available while supplies last.  Just look how stinkin' cute this is.
I really love that SU! is making Designer Series Paper that you can cut images out with the coordinating dies.  That is what I did here - the Koala, Toucan and Lion were all cut out with dies.  The lions head was cut separately so I could pop it up on dimensionals.  You can see it a little bit better here -
The birthday hat and the balloons Mr Koala is holding were fussy cut and added with dimensionals and glue dots.  The Coastal Cabana tag layer was cut out from the dies in this set also; and the ribbon is from the new Ornate Garden Suite pre-release from Stampin' Up!
Finished my card off with a coordinating verse and strip of DSP inside the card; as well as those cute little balloons on the envelope.

I hope this makes you want to get your hands on these products before they go away forever.   Now be sure to "hop" on through the rest of the blogs on the list below to see all their great takes on this same sketch.  Before moving on, be sure to leave a comment at the bottom of this post - they make my day!
