SF-2024 March Blog Hop - Monochromatic March!

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for great inspiration as we create some great projects focusing on Monochromatic Projects.

 ~*~*~*~*~
I LOVE Monochromatic cards - so I wa so excited to see this as our category for the month of March.  I decided to use a set I just received, because I love it so much - and it works perfect for the wedding card I need.
#162574 Lifetime of Love $25.00

How beautiful is that set - and it has amazing dies that coordinate, but I didn't use those today.  So here is my card - all monochromatic in hues of Moody Mauve.  I sponged some Moody Mauve ink behind the area where the flowers will be put to give a bit of shadowing there.
It uses the Forever Love Specialty Designer Series Paper both for the striped layer; and that beautiful flower.  Plus a piece of Moody Mauve 3/8" Textured Ribbon.  Just look at this DSP.

This paper is so beautiful - so I took the rose cluster, and using one of my Moody Mauve blends, I colored two of the roses to get some color contrast, and then fussy cut it to add to the card.  The gold just makes it look so elegant; and then for my bling I again used my blend to color some of our Rhinestone gems to keep the monchromatic theme.  You can see the difference here -
Just love this card.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop - April 2021 - Thinking of You Girls!

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for April 2021 featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you this month - all spotlighting projects that represent - thinking of you girls!

~*~*~*~*~
So, originally I was thinking something fun - a birthday card, a Mother's Day card, etc. But then I found out a friend of mine had lost her husband. I know he had been ill for quite some time, and since I saw the information, she had been on my mind - so plans changed - and now it is a sympathy card.

I really love the retiring Inspiring Iris set, and it just seemed perfect for this card. And the sentiment shown was also just perfect. I stamped the iris image in Memento; and the the iris's in Seaside Spray (also retiring); and Pear Pizzaz. Then added a little Crushed Curry marker to the center of the flower.
I also stamped the floral image one more time and colored and cut out the flowers to pop up on the middle image. The pearls used were colored with the light Seaside Spray Blend so they had a hint of color. Tied some coordinating ribbon on and I added a little glimmer from Wink of Stella to those two raised flowers. Then stamped the outline of the iris flowers inside the card and on the envelope to pull it all together.
Below are many of the products I used to complete this project. I am so sad for her loss, and not an easy card to make, but I think it turned out lovely and hope it brings her some comfort. It will go out in today's mail.

I hope you enjoyed my post and would love it if you'd leave me a comment. Now click on through to the rest of those hopping this month to see all of their wonderful creations! ~Maureen

Hopping Around the World Blog Hop September -Halloween Fun!

Once again, so very happy to be hopping with this lovely group of stampers for the month of September as we share some Halloween fun with you.  Be sure to hop on through the links at the end for some SPOOKY inspiration.

~*~*~*~*~

For my card today - I chose to make a simple spinner card - this was a request by a member of one of my technique club members - so why not go Halloween! This bat was just calling out to me saying it wanted to "spin" lol!

I used Stampin' Up!'s linen thread, Memento Ink, Cajun Craze marker, the Hallows Night Magic set and coordinating dies from the bundle. And for the card above I cut the bats out of the coordinating Magic in the Night DSP -

Magic in the Night DSP #153517 $11.50 USD
Simple Spinner Instructions - Start with an A2 card base and a DSP layer that is 5 ¼” x 4”.  Layer the DSP lightly on the front of the card base with a small amount of snail or seal (1/4” to hold temporarily).  Cut through both layers with a punch or die cut to make a window opening.  At the top of the opening on the card base front only, secure one end of the twine with strong adhesive.  Next punch/cut two symmetrical images (you can also layer images on a square or circle, etc.).  Adhere these back to back on the twine in the center of the opening, so that it will be able to spin freely.  Then secure the other end of the twine with strong adhesive to the bottom of the opening.  Layer your DSP layer on the front to cover the twine – it should line up perfectly.  Decorate card as desired.  Twist the image about 5 times before closing card – when you open it, image should spin freely.
Above is the same card - but for this one I stamped and die cut the bat images on Whisper White, rather than cutting from the DSP - kind of a positive and negative contrast in them.
And here's the card open -  you can see how the big bat freely would spin, and there is a strip of white with a creepy spider image where you can write your sentiment.  Of course, if you wanted to write more - you could always add another panel to the back of your card.  These and fun and easy to make and could be duplicated in any theme. Try one and let me know how it goes!

~*~*~*~*~

Now be sure to "hop" on through the rest of the blogs on the list below to see all their great takes on this same sketch.  Before moving on, be sure to leave me a comment at the bottom of this post - they make my day!
A little bit crazy and always stampin' ~ Maureen
