Daffodil Afternoon DSP - A Whole New Way!

How fun is this - we are in the last couple days of Sale-a-Bration (ends 2/28/2022); and I want to share a really cool way to use your DSP in more creative ways.  I was inspired by a post made by fellow demonstrator Janet Wakeland using the Daffodil Afternoon DSP (free during SAB with a $50 merchandise purchase).

It is really lovey and I have used on several cards - but then take our new Naturals blends and add some neutral tones and you can get an entirely new look for your cards -
Adding the natural blends over the colors on the DSP give you an entirely different look - a bit vintagey
Here is the card I made in today's facebook live - if you are on facebook you can watch my video here on how I placed colors - www.facebook.com/CrazyStampingLady/videos/1116160165865555   You an compare below the before on the left and the after on the card.
Prior to the video - I also made these two cards in a similar way -

I really love they way they turned out.  But then I thought why not try to brighten the DSP - I used some of my brighter blends - Pumpkin Pie, Bermuda Bay, etc. and colored some of the flowers.  On the left was the original and on the right a colored piece - really changes the look.
I hope you liked this coloring tip - and use it to change up your DSP to make it more to your liking for whatever project you may want to do.  It's a game-changer.  Be sure to let me know if you try it, and what you think! ~Maureen

Pretty in Pink!

I had so much fun making this card - I have never done a diagonal cut card like this - and I certainly have never done a card so pink!  I don't even like pink - lol.  But this beautiful FOIL DSP made me change my mind about that.

I used the Love You Always Foil DSPs from the current Jan - June Mini Catalog - and they are just stunning. You can see the video showing  how I put this all together HERE.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Gift Packaging - December

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you this month - all spotlighting Gift Packaging!

~*~*~*~*~

I told you last month how much I love Fall - the weather has now turned really cool - and Winter is in the air.  Fireplace is lit at night - tree is up and stockings are hung.  Christmas is almost here.  So I chose to stick with a Christmas theme for my packaging.  This is a little gift money holder decorated to look like a gift.

I have eight grand kids and each Christmas we try and keep the gifts at about the same value - but it is nearly impossible.  When Christmas rolls around there are always one or two a little short - so they get cash to make up the difference.  This year I am making little money holders to present it in. The Real Red Cardstock is 8" x 9" scored along the 9" side at 3 1/4" and 6 1/2" to form a pocket that I cut at an angle and adhered with Tear and Tape.

Then added some DSP from the Trimming the Town papers to give it a festive touch before adding the cold hard cash lol!

I used the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set and the Gift Bow Builder punch to make a cute little belly band to hold the holder shut.  And a Real Red Blend; and a Shaded Spruce Stampin' Write Marker to color it.

There are several fun bow designs to pick from and color - then just punch it out with the punch and pop it up on a dimensional on top of the belly band.  What could be easier - and now all the kiddos will be happy!

Oh what a WEEK! and fun Pumpkin Tag

For all of my followers - you may have seen my posts; or FB lives; or been part of my postponed events - but, I threw my back out bad a week ago.  I can move sometimes - but most of the time the pain is excruciating when I try to walk.  So mostly I rest and sit - heat - then ice - then heat, etc.  I thought I was on my way to getting better - but a couple hours ago - I was stopped in my tracks!  Yikes!! So will continue to take it easy for a bit.

~*~*~*~*~

I wanted to post this cute little gift tag I made on my morning "Coffee and A Card" Facebook Live today.  I am not often a huge fan of punch art - but these pumpkins are so easy and cute - I just had to share.  It uses the In Good Taste DSP and the Gather Together Stamp set.  But mostly uses punches -

It's two layers - so you can write your name and message on the second piece without it showing.  I just think this would be so cute on a Fall Hostess gift - maybe hung around the neck of a bottle of wine - or tied onto a bag of treats!
For full details on this tag and a video on how I made it - you can check out my video - https://www.facebook.com/818228691544155/videos/378183963327754 - be sure to leave a comment by midnight 10/24/2020 for a chance to win it.  See you all soon! ~Maureen

Don't forget to check out our Designer Series Paper sale - it ends on October 31, 2020 - and includes the "In Good Taste" paper we used on this project - www.stampingwithmaureen.stampinup.net

Paper Crafting Blog Hop - DSP Theme / Fall - October

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you this month - all spotlighting Fall and Designer Series Paper!

~*~*~*~*~

I told you last month how much I love Fall - the weather has  now turned really crisp - Fall with a hint of winter in the air at night.  But that is fine with me.  Stampin' Up! is having a sale and select group of the Designer Series papers are on sale.  So DSP is our focus along with Fall this month.  I chose to use one of the papers that is not on sale - but worth every penny - the Gilded Autumn DSP.

I made a cute little tote using two pieces of 6x6" DSP along with a card to match - perfect to tuck in a little hostess gift for your Fall festivities.

Here is the inside of the card - I used the Love of Leaves stamp set and dies to create the leaves on this card - stamping first in Mango Melody and then sponging with Cajun Craze ink around the edges on the stamp; using a sponge or dauber, before actually putting the stamp to paper.  You get this lovely two-toned affect.

As I mentioned - I used the sheets of DSP to make this quick little tote - perfect for gift-giving; or even to fill with goodies and use as a place setting at a special Fall dinner.  I love the colors on this paper - as well as the hints of copper and gold.  You can watch the video on how I created this - HERE!

Witty-cisms and Scalloped Notecards

Hey - I did another Facebook Live this week - here's a recap -
For today's video I featured a couple wonderful, but overlooked, products that are on the last chance list (while supplies last).   You can watch the video here - and please if you watch, let me know and comment with some love!
So I wanted to show you some of what we did   -  During the video we made this card.  I showed how it went together and gave some tips.
And I also shared these cards - all made with the Witty-cisms stamp set and the Scalloped Notecards and envelopes.  Same layout -

Then after I made a few of these for boy and girl - this one is going out to my nephew and his wife who just had their second baby boy.

Here they all are - I finished the cards after the video by making 10 more and it took me only about an hour to complete all of them.  Would also be a great gift set to give to a friend!
In case you'd like to duplicate - here is the supply list  -
And the measurements -
Enjoy - smile - be creative and be thankful!  Always Stamping, Maureen

First Facebook LIVE on my business page -

Yes, you heard me right - I took the leap and did my first Facebook Live video on my business page - and guess what?  I plan to do a bunch more!  Here's my live Logo -
For today's video I featured the new COVID-19 Give back digital stamp download - as well as the outgoing Mosaic Mood DSP.   You can watch the video here - and please if you watch, let me know and comment with some love!
So I wanted to show you some of what we did today - here's how my set up looked -
Here is a sample card I made prior to going live -
and this is the card I demonstrated during my live

And here are two more I made after the live broadcast ended.

They are all basically the same layout - using sentiments from the COVID-19 giveback set; and that beautiful specialty DSP.  To find out more about this special download - please watch the video - and order at COVID19.stampinup.com   These are such quick and easy cards to make - but I love the way they look - and the sentiments they convey.  I plan to even make some more.

So that's that - there can only be one first - and I thank all of you who watch both live and on the replay and for all of your encouragement!  See you all soon with more stamping fun!  ~Maureen

Welcome Easter - quick and easy card with instructions!

Hey all - hope even with the craziness going on in the world -  you are finding time to be creative.  Today I realized next week Sunday is Easter - don't get me wrong - I knew it was coming LOL - but it is right around the corner and I need to get my cards in the mail.  I did a ton this year and trying to get out to as many as possible to let them know they are in my thoughts.   So I decided to share a quick and easy card with you - along with instructions.  This card layout could easily be adapted with anything you have - flowers, crosses, other little animals - so hope it will be inspiration to you -

"Welcome Easter" Card

All stamping done with Memento Black ink pad.
All coloring with SU! Blends alcohol markers.

Base is 8 ½ x 5 1/2” folded horizontally.  NOTE: there are two larger Whisper White layers 5 1/4 x 4” - one goes inside the card to write on.  Both are exactly the same size.  Adhere one to the front of your card base.

Best Dressed DSP 5 ¼ x 1” – adhere with snail as shown to the front of your card.

Whisper White 3 x ½” stamped with “Have a Wonderful Easter!” layered with snail onto a piece of 3 ¼ x ¾” piece of Daffodil Delight or Lovely Lipstick – depending on card you are making.  Layer these onto card as shown.

Chick card – has chick stamped onto scraps of white, colored and fussy cut.  Layer a Daffodil Delight 2 ¼ x 2 ¼” square onto card; layer a 2 x 2” square of Whisper White onto that and then pop up chick on dimensionals.

Bunny card – has bunny stamped onto a 2 ½ x 2 ¼” piece of Whisper White, colored and layered onto a 2 ¾ x 2 ½” piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock, then popped up on dimensionals and attached to your card as shown.
Add several gems – either clear – or colored – or clear colored with your Blends alcohol markers.

Finish inside by adhering other Whisper White layer inside and decorate inside an envelope as desired.
Hope this inspired you to get out your stamps and create something beautiful - then send it out to make someone else's day beautiful!  ~Maureen
