Sunday Morning Musings - Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing women out there - especially to those who have been a part of my life. You mean the world to me - and I hope your special day is wonderful!!
This has been a tough week for me - really missing my Mom in heaven this Mother's day! Life is a bit overwhelming and what I wouldn't give to be able to sit and have a cup of coffee with her to discuss it all. She was such a wise woman.
Also, missing my daughter Heidi, son-in-law and grandkids in California. But I am fortunate to have hubby, daughter Jenee and her kids here with me - so am counting my blessings as I get to hug them. Here they all are - sans son in law Aaron - he was probably hiding.
I'm so behind in life right now that no one got hand-made Mother's day cards from me this year (except Paul's Mom) - but I was able to do some stamping with the kids yesterday, so they could make cards for Jenee.
They had such a good time - and are good little stampers. I know their Mom will love the cards and their creativity. Now on another note - you all know my addition to coffee - well - I guess my daughter's do too - here is part of what they gave me for Mother's day! Heidi sent me the one on the left and Jenee gave me the one on the right this morning :) They are just too cute!
On a final note today - if your Mom is still alive - I ask that you please honor her. It is a thankless job in so many ways (paying off with hugs and kisses) - but it's so nice for them to know that you appreciate all they do. So now's the time, while you can - an extra call, card, flower, hug or kiss - do it!! Happy Mother's Day y'all! ~Maureen

Christmas in May - Peace Card
I always LOVE my monthly Christmas Card class - it's popular - and happy - and it gets us all ahead of the game by making are cards for Christmas as we go. Each month features two different cards - and attendees make two of each. So here is Card #1 from my May class -
We used the Bird Builder punch which is being discontinued after this month - and I am sad about that. It is so versatile - just look at this beautiful dove. We ran the blue layer through the Big Shot with a stars folder - used the Christmas Greetings Thinlits for the peace - and a little twine and bling to finish.
Above is the inside of the card with an appropriate verse from the Reason for the Season set. You can see the dimensionals from the side - showing some real raised texture to this card - can also see below how things are raised up.
Fun, beautiful, elegant card! ~Maureen

Quick - and I mean Quick!!!
So recently there was a miscommunication on a class I had scheduled at a local crafting shop. Sign-ups were going to someone else, and I had thought they would be going to me. So - since I had no sign-ups I didn't plan and went out to my garden to plant. Then at the time when the class was supposed to start - I received a call that there were ladies there waiting for me. Soooo I couldn't let them do - so this is part of what I came up with -
In less than about 40 minutes - I planned a card, put together all the supplies, washed up, got dressed (was in gardening clothes), put on makeup, packed up everything and drove the 10 minutes to the class location. The ladies really seemed to like this quick and easy card. I was proud of my self for being able to pull it all together that quickly. Needless to say - we've got all the reservation stuff worked out :) Thanks for stopping by! ~Maureen

Team Cards - I am so late
So today I am working on getting my team cards out for March! I know, I know - late - I guess I'll be combining them with April! Between our trip to California. Some big family decisions. A bad sinus cold and ..... well you know - this month just got away from me. But the cards are stinkin' cute :) I started by cutting out the sun rays from yellow and gently sponging orange in the middle of the sun.
Here's my mat after making several of the - how pretty is that? May need to take that technique and make another card design.
Next I layered the yellow onto a blue card base. Not giving specific colors as I used several yellows and blues.
After that I added the "sayings" from my TIPsy Tuesday post a bit ago. Popped up some clouds made with the cupcake builder punch, and of course a few gems to give it some bling. Isn't it such a happy card?
Here's a different view so you can see the verse and the clouds were popped up on dimensionals.
And a bunch of them done below - how could those not 'brighten' someone's day?!?!
Stop back soon for more stamping fun! and don't forget the retiring products - more and more are gone each day CLICK HERE for the post on that! ~Maureen

Personal Post Monday - Birthday and Painting Fun!!
First of all - I have to share my little cutie patootie! My youngest grandchild, Kyan turned 3 this week - and even though we weren't there with him - this picture warms my heart! I love the donuts with candles - how clever is that - and from the smile on his face - it was a hit!!!
Here's the card I sent to him - bursting with birthday wishes - I used the negatives from the SU Sunburst Die to make the card and it turned out great!!!
Also had some fun myself last week - as I went to my first ever paint party. Here is my picture. I had such a good time, and was really happy with it!
My date was my daughter, Jenee, and hse had a great time too. Here you can see our painting crew!
Thank you to Rosie Carroll for throwing a great party and inviting us!!! ~Maureen

Sunday Morning Musings - Life can be .....
Life has been a little tough this week - but beautiful! First just wanted to share this yarn bowl hack I found on Facebook. I've been crocheting a lot this week for the Veteran's and came up with this bowl (pretty heavy which you need, and a big clip. Just feed the yarn through the clip and you have a perfect yarn bowl. Our cat also decided she really likes yarn, and took about 10 of my scrap balls out of my basket yesterday and had them all over the house -oi vay!!
So this week - had field trips, stamp classes, family drama, hubby threw out his back, I have a bad sinus cold (thus the relaxing and crocheting), and more - but I know God is in control. Part good, part bad - but all LIFE! But I did want to show all the Spring beauty that is popping up around us. Seeing this in my own yard - just has to bring a smile to my face - enjoy!
We've also picked some of our first radishes from the garden this week. Just letting the SONSHINE in and keeping smiling! See you soon, Maureen
