Paper Crafting Blog Hop November 2022 - Thank you!

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for November 2022 - featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. We have a wide array of projects and design styles to share with you this month - all about "Thank you!"

~*~*~*~*~

Sticking with my love for fall - I had to try another organic technique I saw - and it worked! I use real leaves from my yard and pressed them onto watercolor paper using my Stamp and Emboss machine.
That's right - that beautiful leaf image on the card was made by just pressing a real leave - this one was from my Mimosa tree. There is no ink applied to the leaf at all - it is just the juices from the leaf that ooze out as you run it through the machine. How amazing is that?!?!
Basics - My card base is one of the Kraft notecards (#159247 - $10.00*) - a 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" layer of Old Olive cardstock (#100702 - $9.25*) - and a strip of Cajun Craze 2" x 5" (#119684 - $9.25*), then a 3" x 4 1/2" piece of watercolor paper (#149612 - $9.00).
TIPS when doing this technique:1) choose a nice, not dry, leaf and lay it onto your watercolor paper with the back of the leaf against the paper as this gives you the best image of the veins. 2) Layer it on your plates just as if you were using an embossing folder. 3) Use paper shims if you do not get a good enough impression. 4) Have a damp paper towel or baby wipes handy to wipe up any excess juices from the leaf after running through. 5) Experiment with different leaves and have fun.
I used sentiments for the outside and inside from the Bamboo Beauty Set (#155478 - $21.00) - such beautiful sentiments. Then I added some linen thread and a few colored gems - and done - simple, organic and beautiful.
In my opinion these are great for masculine cards - as they so beautifully reflect nature.

I hope you got some inspiration from this card. Thank you so much for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts and comments!

Baby Shower Invites and Thank you's!

So just a couple weeks ago we held a baby shower for my Daughter, Heidi who is expecting in June.  It will be our eighth grandchild - a little boy - and I am just as excited as I was for my first who turned 14 yesterday!  These are the invitations I made for the shower using the "Cupcakes and Carousals" set and coordinating DSP.
I don't know which angle shows it betters - but I colored parts of the carousal horse, and then added a little bling to the saddle strap!  Inside was custom information that I printed on my computer.
And here are the coordinating Thank you cards that I finished last night - sending them off in the mail to my daughter today.  She is such an amazing stamper - and I am a pretty clean and simple stamper - but am hoping that making these for her takes something off her plate right now.
They are definitely simple and my style - but I still think they are adorable.
Here's a close-up of one with just a little of the detail colored.  Hope she likes them.  Stop back soon to see some pictures of the shower and the decorations we made.

Personal Post Monday - a week in the life - lol!

So this past week I have been busy!  We finished planting the garden, took care of sick kiddos, I had a couple stamp classes, I'm getting ready for my new catalog Open House this coming Sunday - but I managed to do a few other things too!  I got in some stamping - made these cute cards out of a package of pre-printed "Thank You" notes I had.  SU's Botanical Builder Framelits make it so easy and quick to make these beautiful flowers with a tropical feel.
Can never have too many thank you notes!
Also wanted to get some of that floral feel done on my house - so I made up 9 of these beautiful hanging baskets for my front porch.  If you follow me on facebook you've already seen them.  I really love the feel they give the house.

Also made up some other cute little flower arrangements for my front porch to bring some freshness and color.
Soon we're going to be getting so new rockers for the porch so we can sit there and relax - so looking forward to that.  Hope you Monday is relaxing and your week is off to a great start!  See you soon!  ~Maureen

Beautiful Thank you!! Bringing back birthdays!

Gotta share this beautiful "thank you" note from my daughter, Heidi.  It was unexpected and really made my day - just reminded me of what it means to get a handmade card in the mail.
So in the spirit of handmade cards - here is what I posted on my personal facebook page and am posting again -
I love to make cards, send cards and receive cards. So for 2016 - I am joining Shannon West in sending a REAL, hand stamped birthday card to everyone that sends me their birthday and address. My email link is on the right sidebar.  Shannon West, a Training Manager at Stampin' Up!, had a wonderful idea to send a birthday card to everyone who responded to her post. She thinks (and I agree) that Facebook has ruined birthday cards, so she wants to change that. She is inspiring MANY people to send REAL cards in the mail and using the hashtag. ‪#‎imbringingbirthdaysback‬. If your birthday was already this year - still send it please - I can always send a late card!

Quick and Cute Thank you!!

What a fun and easy thank you card to make - It was another choice in my most recent Card Buffet - products needed to complete it are listed below and you can order by clicking on the products.  It is a 5.5x4.25" card base in Whisper White.  Layer 1 is 5x3.75" in Night of Navy.  Layer 2 is 4.75x3.5" of Whisper White.  Leaves are stamped with Old Olive on Wild Wasabi and cut out.  "Thank you" is stamped with Night of Navy and punched with a circle punch.  Leaves are attached to back of that circle and layered with dimensionals on the stamped small flowers.  We added a couple gems to the flower centers for some sparkle!
Hope you like it - stop back soon for more stamping ideas!!  ~Maureen

Just a few thank yous.....

Many of you know I recently retired from working with International Students at our local community college.  But even after I left I owed a few people special thank yous - so today I'm sharing some quick and "sweet" thank yous I made!  The first was for six of my students who helped me out by being on a special panel for our Multicultural day event.
Here's a close up of the clip I attached the thank you with - just a little banner and decorated clothespin.
Then I decorated several different packages of candy for all of my student workers to thank them for all their help and support when I was there.

I'm really going to miss them all and hope they enjoy their little treats of appreciation.
See you soon!!! ~Maureen
