Paper Crafting Blog Hop November 2022 - Thank you!

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for November 2022 - featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. We have a wide array of projects and design styles to share with you this month - all about "Thank you!"

~*~*~*~*~

Sticking with my love for fall - I had to try another organic technique I saw - and it worked! I use real leaves from my yard and pressed them onto watercolor paper using my Stamp and Emboss machine.
That's right - that beautiful leaf image on the card was made by just pressing a real leave - this one was from my Mimosa tree. There is no ink applied to the leaf at all - it is just the juices from the leaf that ooze out as you run it through the machine. How amazing is that?!?!
Basics - My card base is one of the Kraft notecards (#159247 - $10.00*) - a 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" layer of Old Olive cardstock (#100702 - $9.25*) - and a strip of Cajun Craze 2" x 5" (#119684 - $9.25*), then a 3" x 4 1/2" piece of watercolor paper (#149612 - $9.00).
TIPS when doing this technique:1) choose a nice, not dry, leaf and lay it onto your watercolor paper with the back of the leaf against the paper as this gives you the best image of the veins. 2) Layer it on your plates just as if you were using an embossing folder. 3) Use paper shims if you do not get a good enough impression. 4) Have a damp paper towel or baby wipes handy to wipe up any excess juices from the leaf after running through. 5) Experiment with different leaves and have fun.
I used sentiments for the outside and inside from the Bamboo Beauty Set (#155478 - $21.00) - such beautiful sentiments. Then I added some linen thread and a few colored gems - and done - simple, organic and beautiful.
In my opinion these are great for masculine cards - as they so beautifully reflect nature.

I hope you got some inspiration from this card. Thank you so much for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts and comments!

SF-2022 September Blog Hop - Say it with Sentiments

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for tons of wonderful inspiration as we create projects that say it with sentiments!
 ~*~*~*~*~

This month our projects are all about the sentiments.  I wanted to make something cute and fun for the Halloween season - and I think these projects fit the bill.

I used the great Bewitching set - which I know seems weird since there are no sentiments. But I've been playing for a couple weeks with it - and just look -

This card really sparkles because the accents are made with the Glitter Washi tape from page 57 of the July - December mini catalog. A much overlooked product.  You can place strips of it onto a piece of Basic White and punch it which is awesome.  But I needed some fun sentiments - so I pulled them from the Best Witches stamp set.  My point being that sometimes you really have to mix and match your sets to get that perfect sentiment - so that's what I did.  Then I continued with these same two sets for a fun treat holder -

This is made with the Stars Treat bags - I just slipped a piece of Mango Melody cardstock inside to show through the stars and secured it with with a couple glue dots at the top.  The sparkle here is from our Iridescent Rhinestones - I love them as they are rainbowy and pick up the colors around them.  So fun!

I love both of the sentiments used from the Best Witches set and they pair perfectly with the Bewitching set.  Here's a picture of the treat bag from the top filled with some yummy orange candies.  These were one of the treats I had for my attendees at a recent Stamp Away retreat.  The bag may or may not have been more full when I started crafting tonight lol!

Hope you enjoyed these fun projects and the great sentiments for Halloween.

SF-2022 August Blog Hop - All About the Paper!

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for tons of wonderful inspiration as we create projects that are all about the paper!
 ~*~*~*~*~

This month our projects are focusing on the amazing papers Stampin' Up! has to offer you - I wanted to make something fun - that featured a few DSP paper designs - so look at this cute set -

I love the new Texture Chic DSP - it is beautiful colors and patterns and splashes of gold.
Texture Chic DSP #158808  $15.00*
So I decided to showcase it by using the patterns in fun ways.  The card is made of 1 1/4" squares places in a fun diagonal pattern.

Then added a great sentiment, gilded and gemmed dragonfly - and even a few squares to my envelope.

Then for my 3D project I started with a cute little notebook from the Dollar store (they come in a pack of three).

I wrapped a piece of Vanilla cardstock on the front, top and down a 1/4" on the back - using extra sticky Tear and Tape to hold it.

Then finished decorating the front with similar layers and 1" x 2 3/4" strip of the Designer Series paper and added my initial inside a diamond shape, using the Alphabest Stamp Set.
Alphabest Set #158884 $22.00*

I just love how it turned out, and who can resist another notepad - right?!?

Hope you enjoyed these fun projects that for sure made the Designer Series Paper the star of the show.

SF-2022 July Blog Hop - Perfectly Punched!

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for tons of wonderful inspiration as we play with everything Perfectly Punched!
 ~*~*~*~*~

This month is all about projects are all about the punches - so for my projects today we are using four.  How fun, and punches are so quick and easy - you might say my projects are for the birds - enjoy!

First my card - this adorable card starts with a Basic White horizontal base, a Night of Navy layer that is 4" x 5 1/4" and three strips of the Lovely in Linen 1 1/2" x 3".  I just laid out those strips in a whimsical way laying a background.  For my punches - I used Basic White punched with the Decorative Circle.  My little bird from the Sweet Songbird bundle was stamped in Sweet Sorbet on that circle, and the wing was punched with the Songbird Builder punch.
I also used the Bough punch for my leaves and the Double Oval punch for my sentiment.  It just all came together so well.  Next my little gift box to go with it - holds a box of Mini Glue dots perfectly.  Start with a 5" square piece of Pale Papaya scored around the edges 1" in.  Cut as shown.
Then I put it together with the box in place to be sure it would not be too tight.

Then for the top I used a piece of the Lovely in Linen DSP - also 5" square and this one scored around the end at 15/16" and put it together the same way - making it just large enough to fit on top.  Either side would work, but I opted for the blue to match my card -

I finished it off to match the card and tied a ribbon with a little base on it for the bird, so it could be slid on and off like a belly band.
And here it is all finished and ready for gift giving - so simple - so cute - so fun!

SF-2022 June Blog Hop - Lots of Layers!

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for tons of wonderful inspiration as we play with Lots of Layers!
 ~*~*~*~*~

This month is all about projects are about layers - not one, not two - probably not even three - but MORE.  I'm a clean and simple stamper - so lots of layers is not my norm - but it was sure fun doing these projects!  I've been playin this week with a new favorite set -

#159110 Amazing Year $22.00*

So I decided to use it for my projects today - First my card -
I just love how this turned out - I started with a base of Basic White, a layer of Sweet Sorbet, a layer of Basic Black, a layer of Parakeet Party embossed with the Pretty Flowers EF - that's just for the base.  Then I layered a scallop circle of Sweet Sorbet, a circle of Basic White and then stamped the flower bouquet from the set, colored with blends and fussy cut - this is all popped up on dimensionals.  Here's the inside of the card - just love that sentiment -
So for my 3D project - I wanted it to match and landed on using the cute new Mini Pocket Envelope die set to make an adorable gift card holder.  I mimicked the look of the card but reduced layers a little due to the size of the pocket - it's perfect for a pair of earrings, a necklace, or in my case a gift card.
How cute is that - I love that it is a perfect fit for a gift card - one of my favorite things to give, especially as most of my family is far away and I send things by mail.
