SF-2023 July Blog Hop - Perfectly Punched!

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for great inspiration as we create some great projects lots of layers.

 ~*~*~*~*~

This month's HOP is such fun - we're using punches.  Now I love dies just as much as the next guy (gal), and I love fussy cutting even better.  But when it comes to doing a quick easy card when I need to - I grab punches.  So that's just what I did for this hop - quick and easy cards with punches.
Bough Punch
Dragonfly Punch
Happy Labels Punch and
my 2" circle punch (not pictured)
Then I pulled out the Irresistible Blooms stamp set (because I LOVE the "Hello" in this set) and the Hello, Irresistible DSP and started playing.  Here's what I came up with -
Card 1 - Circle card -
For this card it is simply three circles - on one of them I punched out the little dragonfly and layered a piece of DSP behind it, then used that punched out dragonfly to pop up on another circle with a branch from the Bough punch.  Other than that, just a couple layers, some platters, some gems - and of course the Hello!
Card #2 - Strips Card -
This card basically uses the same elements as the first card - but instead of circles I have six 1" x 3.5" strips of DSP and punched each end with the Happy Labels punch.  Then figured out how I wanted them to lay and finished off the card.  I do have a tip for getting the strips the way you want them.
I just place them on the layer until I get them how I like, then take a picture of it with my phone.  That way I can take them off and add to the layer one at a time following my picture - it works like a charm.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop March 2023 - Animals with Punches!

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for March 2023 - featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. We have a wide array of projects and design styles to share with you this month - all about animals and punches!

~*~*~*~*~

So Easter is right around the corner - and on of my very favorite punches is the Easter Bunny punch. Unfortunately it is out of stock and expected back around May 15 - which is too late for Easter. But you could make some adorable cards year round with it - just change it up a bit - add a different sentiment, etc., so I decided to go with it.

Such a simple, adorable card - all of the DSP is from the Regency Park collection - the backs are very neutral and springlike - even the grass is from there. I cut vertical strips along the top of the grass strip and tucked the little bunnies in between them - then put a dimensional behind the heads of each of the bunnies to pop them a bit. The blue layer behind is the beautiful textured 12x12" shimmer paper-really adds a subtle shimmer. Here is how I finished off the inside -
And the envelope was done simply with the sentiment stamped in varied generations -

I hope you got some inspiration from this card.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts and comments!

SF-2022 July Blog Hop - Perfectly Punched!

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for tons of wonderful inspiration as we play with everything Perfectly Punched!
 ~*~*~*~*~

This month is all about projects are all about the punches - so for my projects today we are using four.  How fun, and punches are so quick and easy - you might say my projects are for the birds - enjoy!

First my card - this adorable card starts with a Basic White horizontal base, a Night of Navy layer that is 4" x 5 1/4" and three strips of the Lovely in Linen 1 1/2" x 3".  I just laid out those strips in a whimsical way laying a background.  For my punches - I used Basic White punched with the Decorative Circle.  My little bird from the Sweet Songbird bundle was stamped in Sweet Sorbet on that circle, and the wing was punched with the Songbird Builder punch.
I also used the Bough punch for my leaves and the Double Oval punch for my sentiment.  It just all came together so well.  Next my little gift box to go with it - holds a box of Mini Glue dots perfectly.  Start with a 5" square piece of Pale Papaya scored around the edges 1" in.  Cut as shown.
Then I put it together with the box in place to be sure it would not be too tight.

Then for the top I used a piece of the Lovely in Linen DSP - also 5" square and this one scored around the end at 15/16" and put it together the same way - making it just large enough to fit on top.  Either side would work, but I opted for the blue to match my card -

I finished it off to match the card and tied a ribbon with a little base on it for the bird, so it could be slid on and off like a belly band.
And here it is all finished and ready for gift giving - so simple - so cute - so fun!

Paper Crafting Blog Hop March 2022 - Animals and Punches

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for March 2022 - featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you this month - all spotlighting - projects that have animals and use punches!

~*~*~*~*~

For my project I made a very personal card. Well, actually since these are difficult to make when needed - I made several for my stash. I recently found out a friend lost her best little buddy - and needed a card to send her - so I made some dog (and some cat sympathy cards as well) to have ready for future.

Pet sympathy cards - and human sympathy cards are tough. I love that the Pampered Pets set is adorable, but still has this lovely sentiment for the loss of a pet. Although, it could also be used appropriately on a human sympathy card.

#152520 - Price in U.S. markets $21.00*

For my card I also used the Heart and Scallop Heart punches as my punch choice as they were just so fitting with the sentiment -

And to get the little bitty hearts I used the die below - picked out the little hearts and colored them with a Poppy Parade (PP) Blend. I could have just die cut out of PP, but had a scrap of Basic White there so used it.
I finished by cutting the dog, as well as the food bowl, out with the appropriate dies, coloring them with blends and popping them up with Dimensionals.

I hope you got some inspiration from this card. Thank you so much for stopping by and I would love any comments!

Quick and Easy - three projects today!

Today I thought I'd share the three quick and easy projects we made at my last BINGO day! My Bingo projects are pretty easy to complete, as the ladies need to do them with just a few printed tips - and these all worked well.
 ~*~*~*~*~
The first was this cute vintagy looking Very Vanilla note card - it uses products from our current annual catalog  - the Pressed Petals Suite on page 73.  (see products used at end of post).  Our note cards are 3 1/2" x 5" - so the Rococo Rose layer is 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" and the Designer Series Paper is 3" x4".  We added a strip of Scalloped Lace trim to the top and the bottom.  Stamped our sentiment and punched with Story Label Punch - which we also layered on a cut apart Rococo Rose layer.  Then colored our gems with the Rococo Rose Blend - and add for some bling!
Second we made this beautiful bookmark/gift tag - also using products from the annual catalog.  It uses products from the Bird Ballad suite on page 91.  The designer paper is so beautiful - so we just cut a 2" circle - layered it on Petal Pink 2 1/4" circle.  We stamped tone on tone for the bookmark which was 5 1/2" x 2" to start with before punching the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.  Layer our sentiment and used Petal Pink striped organdy ribbon and Linen Thread to finish it.
Our final project was this cute and quick vase card - with products from the annual catalog.  This is a regular A2 card with a Basic Black layer of 4" x 5 1/4" and a Crushed Curry layer that was 3 1/2" x 4 3/4".  We punched the vase out of the Mosaic Mood Designer series specialty paper and stamped the flowers so the vase would go right under.  Then layered this on a Whisper White Oval and a Black Scallop Oval using the Layering Oval dies.  Love how it turned out.  ~Maureen
