Celebrating our newest grandchild with fun!!

So I promised last post that I would share some of the fun decorations we made for Heidi's shower.   The theme was an old fashioned carnival of sorts - with lots of pinwheels and medallions.
Below was one centerpiece made with balloons, medallions, pennants, Cracker Jacks, Animal Crackers and entry tickets.  Note the little party hat on the elephant!
We had a sweets bar with fun treats - peanuts, cotton candy, zebra caramel corn, more Cracker Jacks and more animal crackers.  Note the cute chain below made with the roll of tickets.
Around the room we placed clusters of these medallions and pinwheels with ribbon hanging down.
My daughter is an amazing baker and didn't want store bought - so she made and decorated her own cake and cupcakes - homemade vanilla and lemon cake - buttercream frosting with sprinkles, animal crackers and a few pinwheels and pennants.
Here's another view of the sweets - note the clear balloons - they had colored confetti in them - so cute!
This was the favor that was given to each person attending -
We put them in little strawberry baskets with a pinwheel attached.
It was a really fun and nice day celebrating the anticipated arrival of our 8th grandchild due in June.  Can't wait to meet this new little guy.  Hope you liked the decorations!  Stop back soon.  ~Maureen

Baby Shower Invites and Thank you's!

So just a couple weeks ago we held a baby shower for my Daughter, Heidi who is expecting in June.  It will be our eighth grandchild - a little boy - and I am just as excited as I was for my first who turned 14 yesterday!  These are the invitations I made for the shower using the "Cupcakes and Carousals" set and coordinating DSP.
I don't know which angle shows it betters - but I colored parts of the carousal horse, and then added a little bling to the saddle strap!  Inside was custom information that I printed on my computer.
And here are the coordinating Thank you cards that I finished last night - sending them off in the mail to my daughter today.  She is such an amazing stamper - and I am a pretty clean and simple stamper - but am hoping that making these for her takes something off her plate right now.
They are definitely simple and my style - but I still think they are adorable.
Here's a close-up of one with just a little of the detail colored.  Hope she likes them.  Stop back soon to see some pictures of the shower and the decorations we made.
Stampingly, Maureen

Baby Shower Card

So here's the little girl onesie card I made for Sunday's baby shower.  I stamped two onesies on the envelope (cuz she's havin' twins!!)
For the card I used the scallop edge trim and cut it pretty close to the scallop so I could curve it around the neck and legs.  I added little pearls to the collar and a cute little flower to the waist band.  Then a couple punched circles at the bottom to mimic the snaps on a onesie.  How cute is that - I had so much fun making this card!!  Now can't wait for the girls to make their appearance.  ~Maureen

Pink times two!!

This past Sunday I had the fun of going to a baby shower for my neighbor who is expecting twin girls soon.  She also has a little girl who is not yet 2 - so how fun is that :)  She will have her hands full - but they will be full of joy and love.
So I wanted to share my gift - first these two little adorable piggy banks.  I just couldn't resist them.  They are two different shades of pink so she can tell them apart - and each has their own little flower with a pearl tucked behind their ear.
I also crocheted these two granny square afghans for the babies.  They are almost identical - but the one on the left is trimmed with a cream colored border and the one on the right with a pink border - so again each baby can have their own special afghan.
I hope she likes them, and the babies get to use them for years to come.  Stop back tomorrow to see the card I made.   ~Maureen

Baby Shower Gift

Recently we went to a baby shower for one of my 2nd downline - Melissa - who is having a little boy soon. So for her shower I gave her some receiving blankets, an outfit and a brag book. Here is the packaging I came up with using a one sheet wonder technique and the "Bugs and Kisses" stamp set. The gift tag was made using another part of the sheet and...finally, here's the brag book where she can put all of those adorable pictures once he's born. I used another piece of the one sheet wonder sheet - all of this came out of one 8 1/2" x 11" sheet - fun and fast! Congratulations Melissa on your new little miracle.

The Girls Shower

I thought since Zamarah was now here I'd take a minute to look back at the shower we had for Jenee and Heidi - you can see that a month before Jenee was ready to have little Z anytime. Heidi still has 5 or so weeks to go yet, so she is definately feeling ready now. Paisley got to come to the shower as a big girl - she was so happy to be there. Here's the bouquet of Thank You suckers we had as favorst - they were stars to match the moon and star theme of their invites - see this post - http://crazystampinglady.blogspot.com/2010/01/baby-shower-invites.html

Baby Shower Invites -

Double the FUN! I haven't posted much as life has just been a whirlwind since the holidays - New Year's, a downline meeting, a stamp camp, off to Leadership in Phoenix, a Stamp Till You Cramp planning meeting, the first week of classes at the College I work at .... Hopefully the dust will settle soon, and I can get back to daily posting... and get some information out on all the great things going on at Stampin' Up!! We're also getting ready for a Baby Shower on Jan. 24th -

Both of my daughters are expecting their third children - and I couldn't be happier - those of you who know me know that my grandkids mean the world to me. So I'm throwing a joint Shower/Celebration for them. Here's the card (two versions) that my daughter Heidi designed and we both completed. It uses retired SU DSP - I think it was called Sweet Slumber for the background and then just some cute moon and hanging star accents. Here are both versions - they both were used randomly for our guests (not one for one daughter and one for the other.) Jenee and Robert are expecting daughter, Zamarah, on Feb. 15; and Heidi and Aaron are expecting son, Zavian, on Apr. 4.

Here is a close up of the yellow background version
and here is a close up of the blue background version.

Plus - I noticed that with everything going on I missed my Blog Candy for 1,000 POSTS!! So watch next week for a Blog Candy Give-away!! Thanks for stopping by ~ Maureen
