Happy Halloween!! Cards!!

Sharing the two cards we are making at Saturday's Witch Hat event.  Both of them are made primarily with products from the kit.  The first one I made a little more spooky looking by using the darker side of the striped layer and sponging a lot on the card and elements, to give it a darker, more haunting look.
While the second card uses the same set, but the brighter side of the striped layer and no sponging.  I added a couple of pieces of the web doilies to give it a little dimension, rather than stamping the webs like I did above.  I really like how both turned out - and they are very different - but use a lot of the same components.  Cool to show different looks with the same set.
Halloween is going be here before you know it!!!  Are you ready?  (Insert evil laugh)  See you soon!  ~Maureen

Personal Post Monday - Fall decorating

So this last week we pulled out all my Halloween/Fall boxes and went through them.  We sorted and got rid of a bunch of stuff - but kept plenty to start decorating the house with some fall colors.  Fall is my favorite time of year and I love all the goldens and oranges and red and yellows of the season.  So we have fall decorations with some Halloween goodies to boot - enjoy!!
The wand tucked in was made by my daughter Heidi, The vinyl on the vase was from when SU carried that line, and the little birdhouse is all decorated with paper and made by my downline, Maria.
Candles - I love candles!! having them out on my coffee table just makes me happy!
Here is what I have burning on my kitchen island - it is an orange and spice candle and smells so good.
Here's our fireplace mantel - Frankie was made in a previous year's stamp camp, as was the framed art to the right, more candles, and this adorable little haunted house with a spinning ghost on the top.
This is what greets you at my front door.  I have a big witch's broom (that I have not unpacked yet :) but I hope to prop that just behind the green plant and add a few more pumpkins and mums.
This is in my front entry - the vinyl again is from when SU sold it.  The witch's hat - well that's in the current Holiday Mini catalog!!
and just in case you'd like to make one, and live in the local Prescott, AZ area - I'm having a class where we'll be doing these on Saturday, Oct. 3 - let me know if you'd like to join us!
The shadow box above we made at a stamp camp at Heidi's last year or the year before.  I added our paper spider webs to the front this year to give it a bit more dimension.
These are just two happy Halloween guys I have hanging around :)  The wine banner is also all Stampin' Up!
The picture above was given to me as a gift by a former Secret Sister - looks like I need to straighten that ribbon.
And I put a couple little Jack O Lanterns on the shelf by our family pictures.
This pretty spray with a cute little scarecrow peeking out, welcomes you at our front, and another at our back, doors.
Once October is over I'll take down the Halloween stuff and add in some more fall/Thanksgiving items.  It's a work in progress but so fun.  Puts me in the mood for warm sweaters, hot cider, fires in the fireplace and a good book.  See you all soon!  ~Maureen

Birthday Wishes

Today's card is one that we recently made at Cards and Coffee - it's a fun card using the Build a Birthday set.  I picked my colors from the strip of DSP on the bottom of the card - this was retired SU Frosty Day DSP - that I wanted to use up.  So we used Lost Lagoon, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.  But you could use just about any patter of DSP and any colors and this card would be just as cute.
I think it's a great birthday card - and can be feminine or masculine - which is always a plus.  After stamping and layering we added the little gems to the candles for that needed bling.  Had a new stamper at my last Cards and Coffee, Kathy - and this was the first card she ever stamped and it turned out great!!!  See you all soon!  ~Maureen

Here are a couple hints to get the most out of your online ordering experience -

1) There is minimum shipping of $6.95 - so to get the full value of the shipping order as much in one order as you can - rather than several smaller orders - or combine your order with a friend's.  These orders are shipped out quickly (rather than waiting till I close the order) and come right to your door.

2) Use the HOSTESS CODE (see above) that I will give out each week, when ordering for that week - the hostess code will expire each Monday at 5PM and I'll issue a new one again on Tuesday.  The system asks for that code shortly before you finalize your order - so watch for it.

3) To order go to my website link above and then on the SHOP NOW block near the top of the page.  This will take you right to our products and you can set up an account, or enter as a return customer.

4) Finally, be sure to take advantage of the "Weekly Specials", clearance rack, and if you're a Paper Pumpkin subscriber past Paper Pumpkin kits (all while supplies last) to get you the most bang for your buck.  ~Maureen

New Business Cards

Okay - so I just wanted to share my new business cards.  Finally getting settled here in Prescott, and I need to get my business off the ground - so I have new business cards made!  They are just black printed on some nice quality white cardstock - and then I get to stamp on the open space.
Stamped up a bunch with one of my favorite Stampin' Up! sets "Kinda Eclectic" as I'm going to my first Small Business Women's Group tonight and we were told to bring business cards to hand out.  I also have to do a 1 min. commercial regarding my business - so wish me luck!
Any way - I thought they turned out really cute.  I had ordered them through Vista Print, and as a freebie got the little sticky note pad below - so I also stamped the pages in that - using the stamped off ink from the cards above.  Also cute huh!?!
So - I'm here in Prescott, and busy holding classes - any crafty peeps out there should plan to come join me and let's "MAKE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL!"  ~Maureen
