October Paper Pumpkin - Alternative Project #4

So my Paper Pumpkin class for the October kit is over and I can continue to share what we did as our alternatives - here is the fourth and final project we did for this kit -

It is a Cocoa holder - though I have done these for tea, candy bars, pkgs of microwave popcorn etc.
Tips
So for this card start with another of the snowy tree bases from the kit.   Using the tear and tape, seal the open side of the card together, leave the bottom open.
Stamp your sentiment on Basic White and layer on Real Red and then onto the front of the base.  We punched out a string of the pine trees with the Evergreen Border punch - using Evening Evergreen cardstock; and popped that up on some dimensionals.
Next you want to punch a hole through both layers of the base, centered about 1/2" below the top.  Then thread 24" of Real Red Satin ribbon through these holes pulling so ends are even.  Push the package of cocoa mix down between the two layers of card, pushing the ribbon down evenly with it.  Once the package of cocoa mix is all the way inside - tie a bow at the top.  To reveal the package again - just pull up on the ribbon.

Such a fun little gift or stocking stuffer.  You do not need a cardbase to make this - you can just attach decorated layer of cardstock together and complete as above.

Hard to believe - but we are focusing on December projects - how can that be? I'm currently making some little gift card holders for my grandkids - and for the girls decided to go with these little purses -
They come together so quick and easy with the "All Dressed Up Dies" - and I'll add some tissue - a few of their favorite candies and their gift card. Plan to have a little love note sticking out of the pocket for each of them. I think they'll love them under the tree.
Other Products Used: Heartwarming Hugs DSP, Goil Foil Paper, Real Read Cardstock; Tear and Tape; and Glue Dots. This is really a must have die set!!

October Paper Pumpkin - Alternative Project #3

So my Paper Pumpkin class for the October kit is over and I can continue to share what we did as our alternatives - here is the third project we did -

Tips
So for this card start with another green base from the kit (note: these bases could also be cut down to make two layers for the fronts of two cards to extend the kit).
You'll need that center piece that you cut out of the plaid layer in the last card. (see that sample HERE). In addition you'll need a layer of Smoky Slate cardstock cut to 3 1/8" x 4 1/4", the woodprint rectangle layer from kit, vellum trees from kit, silver NOEL from kit and three of the kit gems.  Also a piece of Gray Granite shimmer ribbon 3 3/4" and a bow tied with the same ribbon.
Layer the plaid piece onto the Gray rectangle and wrap the gray ribbon around securing on back with glue dots.  Using Seal just being the vellum trees that the gray woodprint layer will cover (see image), layer the trees over the ribbon, then add the gray woodprint and the Noel (I attached with Tombow glue).  Add the bow with a glue dot and a few scattered gems.  Finish inside of card as desired.

October Paper Pumpkin - Alternative Project #2

So my Paper Pumpkin class for the October kit is over and I can continue to share what we did as our alternatives - here is the second project -

Tips
So for this card start with a green base from the kit – then you'll need a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Real Red, one of the green plaid layers from the kit, and the other half of the card base from my 1st alternative, cut to 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".   You'll also need some red gems, a soft succulent blend and 6" of the silver mesh ribbon.
To start - color one of the trees with the blend.  Cut the center out of the plaid layer

using the largest die from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

Keep the center for our next card.  Then adhere the colored tree layer to the plaid border and that to the red layer.  Tie a knot in the center of the ribbon and adhere around these layers; before adhering all to the base.  Stamp your sentiment on one of the labels and pop-up on dimensionals, then add several gems.  Finish inside of card as you like using stamps from the kit set.

·       Ribbon: 12”

 Instructions:

 1.    Score and fold card base at 5 ½” on the long side.

2.    Emboss the two strips of Petal Pink cardstock with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder. Then, adhere them to the card front placing the smaller strip at the top and the bigger strip at the bottom leaving a smooth center for your designer paper.

3.    Cut a hole in the center of the Blackberry Beauty DSP using the Layering Circle Dies. Attach it to your card front in between the two embossed pieces.

8.    Take a 12” piece of ribbon and cut it the whole length right down the center so you have two 12” strips. Hold them together and tie a bow. Attach the bow to the card front using Mini Glue Dots.

9.    Add 3 Wonderful Gems to your card to finish it off.

October Paper Pumpkin - Alternative Project #1

So my Paper Pumpkin class for the October kit is over and I can now share what we did as our alternatives - here is the first project -

Tips to duplicate - we took one card base and cut it to be able to make two beautiful cards - this really extends the kit.

Here is the base before it was cut -

and the kit flyer that shows how they would look if you did not change it up -
This kit was so beautiful as it came, that it was hard to improve on it - so all we did for this one was cut a tree base down into two sections - the one for this card was the right side and we cut it to 4" x 5 1/4" layered it on the a Real Red base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4") and completed as shown in the picture.  To make double the cards - you could just duplicate those instructions with the left section; but we chose to make that side a little different, so watch for that tomorrow.
Here is the inside -
Just cut a layer of Basic White 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside and stamped our sentiment and snowflakes - easy, peasy - and I love it!

Let me know if you have any questions and stop back soon to see the next of my alternative projects for this kit.  Not a subscriber yet?  Follow this LINK to explore your options!
