More Brusho FUN!!

So one of my clubs had a renewal month - and each renewal we do a special project.  Brusho's had just been introduced, so I decided to do a four season sampler using the Brusho's as the background for each season.  Here is the final project - and the ladies had the choice of making it horizontal or vertical.  We used the SU shimmer cardstock for the base to get a little sparkle.

The WINTER panel used just the Prussian blue crystals - to get a blustery wintery background.  Snowflakes were cut of black and adhered - and the verse was from Colorful Seasons.

For the SPRING panel we used Prussian Blue in the upper portion and Yellow crystals in the lower - then popped up the branch and blossoms from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to create cherry blossoms. 

SUMMER used the verse from the Beautiful You stamp set.  The background was Moss green (you can see some blue crystals in it) for the bottom, and yellow for the top - plus the Adirondack chair and a fun little glass of lemonade cut from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.   We added some Wink of Stella to the lemonade.

Finally - our FALL panel used a mixture of the Gamboge, Moss Green and Yellow crystals for the back ground.  Then we cut leaves using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and layered them over each other for a nice autumn look.

I was really happy with how they turned - and have this one hanging in my home -

Happy Halloween!!

So much fun - my Technique CLUB 1 made this adorable project as their renewal thank you for our next round of club.  It was tons of fun to design, and I think they turned out super cute!  I purchased the black frames at a local craft store, and removed the glass so we could pop up some images. 

After checking Pinterest for tons of Halloween sampler ideas - I came up with the panels above and below.  The orange hat, the front gravestone, the small pumpkin and one of the bats are all popped up to give it that great dimension.

DSP Sampler

So one of the demonstrations I did at the downline meeting was showing how to make these great little DSP samplers.  Stampin' Up! has some of the most amazing Designer Series Papers - but what I've learned over the years is that the catalog does not do it justice.  You really need to touch and see the paper in person.  So these are easy to make - the first one is strips of DSP showing all 12 designs on the front (our packages are 12 sheets - 2 of each 2 sided design - for 12 designs total).  I cut these strips 2" and then as follows for this sampler - 7" 6.5" 6" 5.5" 5" 4.5" 4" 3.5" 3" 2.5" 2" and 1.5" the laid them down as shown - stapled together and tape a little topper over to hide the staple. 

The advantage to this style is you can compare all 12 designs together to see what mixes and matches best for your projects.  The disadvantage is you can only get one sampler out of a 2" strip of each DSP.  Here are the backs of the papers - which will be repeats of the other side.

So another way to do it is to cut you strips of each 2" and then as follows - 6", 5", 4", 3", 2" and 1".  The advantage here is that you can get two samplers our of your 2" strip and the disadvantage is that they are only seeing one side of the DSP.....

And will need to flip it over to see the backsides of the papers.  But either way works!

I finished it off with a little label with the name of the DSP, Item #, Description and Price, so if customers want to order the package - the info is right there.

At our last downline meeting we made these great in-color samplers - these are a great tool for the demonstrators to use at workshops to highlight these amazing colors, as well as how the ribbon, ink and cardstock all coordinates so perfectly.
