Secret Sister June 2011 - Part II

Here is another round of Secret Sister Gifts - the first was for Maria - she got this set of four cards - Here's a close up of some of the detail. I doubt you can see it, but there is an embossed rose on the white layer of each card, and the little mini close-pin has pearls on it. And this gift was for Heidi - a desk set with a note clip and pencil holder. Here's a close up of some of the detail - note the little pearl on both the pen and pencil. Secret Sister Gifts

This month's meeting was our big quarterly meeting where we exchange secret sister gifts - this first one is Sandy's - I already love it and all I see is the package :) Here is what was inside - this adorable birdhouse and patriotic container.

And inside the container?? these cute little patriotic tootsie rolls - how fun are those?

Downline Meeting Demo

Saturday was our monthly downline meeting for June and each month I try to demo something for the group that they can take back and hopefully use in their business. This month I demoed how to do this adorable punch art strawberry - it reminded me of summer and the annual strawberry festival we have in a city near here. I saw how to do this month's ago on a blog - but I don't remember which one. If it is yours, please let me know and I will be happy to share the link. I look at blogs all the time for ideas, and a lot of times the ideas stay in my brain - but the blogs don't :) Here are the tools you need to make it - the bird punch, I used the flower on an alphabet die but you could punch any medium sized flower; a little flower punch; the five petal flower punch; a regular 1/4" circle punch and the Scalloped Heart die - I think you can see how everything is layered in this picture - if not, email me and I'll try and explain. There is very little altering of any of the punches. Two of the petals are cut off of the five petal flower for the top of the strawberry, and you'll punch two of the leave from the bird punch and trim the stem off one set. I just popped it up on layers of coordinating cardstock and I LOVE IT!! The little bumps on the heart look just like the seeds on a strawberry. Proud Mother of an Artisan Winner!

Hi All - I am sooooo excited and proud of my Daughter Heidi who is one of this year's Artisan Award winners at Stampin' Up!

Graduation Gift

One of my student workers, Mallory, graduated from Moorpark College last week, and I wanted to make her a little remembrance of the day. So I took her picture and put it in this square frame and then added my own touches. Here's a close-up of the mortarboard - made with a square punch, a black brad, and some embroidery floss for the tassle. At the bottom I added some stars and then popped up a little miniature diploma on top of them. She worked hard for this degree - and I wanted her to know how proud I was of her. Congratulations girl!! The sky's the limit!

Notebooks

So the school year has come to an end, and two of my student workers are done working for me, so I decided to take all three of them out for lunch to thank them. But I wanted to give them each a little gift also, so I made these three note book holders for them with our Stampin' Up! DVD cases. I attached the notebook and sticky notes inside, along with a little loop of DSP to hold a mini-pen. The DSP was part of my grab bag purchase from Stampin' Up! recently, and I added their initials and a mini button.Here's a close up of the loop of DSP and the mini pen. The case still closed perfectly. Here's the front of Mallory's case. I really like this entire idea, because the case is solid, so you can throw the whole thing in your purse and not worry about the pad of paper getting ruined. Hope they liked them. Thank you ladies - for all your help this past year.

May Christmas Cards

Yesterday was our May Christmas Card stamp camp. I'm determined to have all my cards done by Nov. this year :) So as usual, we made two different designs. First this cute little watercolored girl - And second this elegant snowflake card -

Heidi's gift bag -

So here is the great gift bag that Heidi made Paisley for her birthday gift - it all went along with the theme of Movie and Popcorn - isn't it great! The popcorn pulls out of the cup and was her card and the candy bar was real - what a great gift bag idea. You can't even see all the dimension this had - but it was sooo cute.

Paisley's 8th Birthday

So all week I had planned to post this - but the whole week time flew by and sooooo finally here is my little Paisley the day she was born - 8 years ago. What a cutie-pie right from the start.And here's our beautiful girl at her party last week. I can't believe I have an 8 year old grandchild. I so remember the first time I held her - my life changed forever. Believe me - if you are not a grand-parent yet, nothing will be the same for you after that moment.

Her family party was a Movie theme - so here she is by her very own "Walk of Fame" star - Ms. Paisley J!! - Love you so!
