Stamping 102 - beyond the basics! AND a peek_a_boo kitty!

I recently held my first Stamping 102 class - beyond the basics.  101 - covers our products, my history, making a card with the SIP technique (stamps, ink, paper) - and how to embelish it.  Now 102 covers - the next steps.  It goes over items like our punches, washi tape, watercoloring etc.  Taking cards to the next level of FUN!
This is one of the projects we made - an adorable kitty card.  The kitties and puppies in the catalog just make my heart warm - they are so, so cute!
I'm working on a Stamping 103 class - that will introduce the Big Shot and a few other tools - so wish me luck!  In the meantime enjoy this little peek-a-boo kitty!

March Christmas Card 1

Sharing one of the two Christmas Cards we made at my last Christmas Cards class.  I really like how it turned out.  I used the "Reason for the Season" stamp set and the Festive Flower Builder punch from our Occasions catalog for all the petals.  You can get these items as a bundle through May 31, 2016.

Punched out two of the double petals, four of the medium, and eight of the large.  Then stuck them all together with glue dots.  Added the little glitter "X" and a gem to the center.  By rolling the petals around a pen and gently folding them - you get all this dimension - yet it lays pretty flat for mailing.
The background was just tone on tone, using an image from the set - and I really like the look.  But the real star of this card, is that beautiful glitter washi tape!    It was only available during Sale-a-bration and is gone now - but I am so hoping Stampin' Up! decides to bring it back.  It is beautiful.

You might notice the cards are different colors of brown above.  The one on the left is what we made at class using Early Espresso ink.  My first try was Soft Suede, but I liked the darker brown better.  Sometimes I end up making several versions of a card design before I get what I love.
Here's a previous card I had made with the same set and shared before.  Hoping to get a Christmas card class in this month, as it is a crazy month.  Working on my class schedule now.  See you soon!! ~Maureen

Happy Halloween!

Hi All - Snoopy, Woodstock and I are wishing you all a happy and safe Halloween.  Looking forward to spending the evening with my seven littlest goblins~
So, as promised I wanted to share my Halloween Shaker card with  you.   At my last Cards stamp camp we made this card - http://www.crazystampinglady.blogspot.com/2013/10/stamp-camp-card-2.html
I LOVE the negative images left when we punch things out, so I save the negative images from the card, and we made these adorable shaker cards.  It uses the single Halloween Happiness stamp.  I then cut down our clear envelopes to fit right over that stamped image and we filled the envelopes with chunky glitter and several different punched out shapes.
Then sealed the base layer, the clear envelope with shaker items, and the negative image layer, and taped it together all the way around with our Halloween washi tape.  I was really happy with how they turned out.
There are so many awesome way to make shakers and they are so much fun!  Hope you enjoyed!! ~Maureen

Soot Stamping Club Card

How great is this card!!!  We used the skeleton from Toil & Trouble in the Holiday Mini for our soot removal (see yesterday's post for full instructions).  It look so great - almost like an x-ray.  Or like he's coming out of the fog.  Added some washi tape, one of our gems colored black with a sharpie and our chevron ribbon pulled apart for a creepy spider web feel to it.
Here's a close-up of the skeleton - a bit blurry - but you can see those great swirls in the soot again.
Hope you like it.  If you make a card with this technique, be sure to send me a picture of it.  See you soon - Maureen

New Catalog Open House

We had our annual New Catalog Open House and retired merchandise sale and had so much fun.  Here are ladies checking out the cards for sale; and stamping one of our FREE make and takes.
One of the make and takes (special project for our hostesses) was this adorable floral tag and clothespin - the clothespin is covered with Stampin' Ups! new Gingham Garden washi tape.  It goes on so nice and look how great it then coordinates with the new Gingham Garden DSP on the tag.
Here it is shown on top of a gift bag - who wouldn't want to get a gift in this cute wrapping.
Stop back soon to see the rest of the projects we made.  ~Maureen
