For my third project I thought I'd make a simple table setting for my guests at Thanksgiving dinner. One of the greatest things about SU products is how everything coordinates. So I chose to use just the monochromatic look with Cajun Craze for this project - but it would look lovely mixing and matching all the colors of DSP and Cardstock included in the kit. Maybe each guest could have their own color.

I made a napkin ring, a place-card and a little treat box - for nuts or maybe a little "truffle" for each guest. The place-card was left blank, but will be lovely once you write your guest's name on it - with a coordinating SU Cajun Craze marker. The napkin ring is just a strip of the DSP taped, and then the sentiment is punched out, as is a background Cajun Craze layer. Then I added some of the gold sequins for a little touch of bling.

Here you can see the place-card - it is just a little tent of white with the layered DSP, white cardstock, and I just cut the wheat and attached with a glue dot - again the sequins were added to coordinate.

And finally the treat cup - a simple, basic little box, wrapped in DSP and the sentiment stamped and made like the one for on the napkin ring.

I really love the way it all looks together - and I'm sure your guests will love it too.

Personal Post Monday

So I'm going to try and have each Monday (maybe late Sunday) be my personal posts. Some Monday's I might not have one - but it I do, that is when Ill try and post. My family is so important to me - and even though stamping is my passion - I love looking back through my blog and seeing my family - so this is your warning - LOL.

It's FALL - I love fall - but this one in Southern California has been rough. SOOOOOO HOT!! It's been over 90 (and near 100) more days than not the last several weeks - and this week will be a little better - but still not fall like. But at least I can craft like it's fall - here are a bunch of my creations on display.

Also wanted to update on my last Gramma Day post - you can see that post HERE. Last Saturday I picked up Kamili's painted creation and brought it to her at the soccer field. Here she is holding her little owl - that she picked out and made for her mom.

Here is the close-up - she painted it all -except for the black - she had me do the eyelashes and the heart.

She was all smiles after getting her owl. Love this girl so much.

Today is my Gramma day with her sister Makai - so there will be pictures coming on my next Personal Post monday. See you soon! ~Gramma

September Christmas Card Stamp Camp 2

Time for a peek at our second Christmas card made at last month's class. Talk about non-traditional colors - but I love it. I was a little hesitant - as you don't usually think of gray and yellow for the holidays - but hubby gave his approval and I went for it. We had a full house and the ladies seemed to like it too.

Here's the inside with some snowflakes to brighten any ones day. I really like our photopolymer sets, as I was able to combine the works for both phrases on one block and stamp once and looks how great it looks.

Of course - my thing is decorated envelopes - gotta have that happy mail when you get to the mailbox. So here's the front of the envelope -

Finally just a close-up so you can see that we added some bling to some of the snowflakes for that extra holiday sparkle.

Creative Collage October - Blog Hop 2

So here it is, my second card made with our October Creative Collage kit - it is clean and simple and striking!!! The first picture was taken with my flash on and the colors really pop! The ones below with the flash off are a little more subdued. But I wanted you to see it both ways.

I used Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry cardstock to give a striking contrast in fall colors. The leaf was colored in strokes with the Cajun Craze marker rather than the pad, and I like the little bit of variance that gives the coloring. I combined the Crushed Curry ribbon, linen thread and a gold button for a great little embellishment that would add to the card yet not lose the simplicity of it. Finally, the "grateful for you" layer was layered on Cajun and popped up on dimensionals then offset in it's placement to the lower right corner of the card to add some character. In the card above you cannot see the little bit of crumb cake stamped behind the verse due to the flash - but you can see it below. It is a stamp from the set that gives it that subtle watercolor wash look that I LOVE.

Of course I stamped the envelope - happy mail!! You can see that I also cut out the leaf, curved it a bit with my bone folder and attached it with some 2 sided tape. What a simple, lovely card to send off to someone you are grateful for this special season. You could also duplicate the look for a place card setting at you Thanksgiving table - hmmmm maybe I'll have to do that. If I do, I will share!
