Put a little Rainbow Glimmer in your life!

I have something really fun to share with you today - the beautiful Rainbow Glimmer Paper from page 153 of the annual catalog.  It is just so pretty and fun - and I think much overlooked!

Rainbow Glimmer Paper #153056 $6.00

I had a couple packages and pulled it out to prepare for an upcoming class.  After I was done prepping, I had a bunch of odd shaped scraps sitting on the table - so I got out my Tailored Tag punch and punched it all up.  Then started laying it out for some simple cards.  They came together so beautifully with a simple sentiment.

Then I punched some of the smaller scraps with the small bloom punch and added for just that final needed touch.  For the center of the flower I just punched a regular circle with a regular paper punch from black cardstock and added with a glue dot.

Then to finish just layered on a piece of black cardstock and then an A2 white base - I just really love how they turned out.

Sometimes I feel so fulfilled when I can use up scraps and create something beautiful - and this was one of those days.  Hope you like them too - if you do, please leave me a comment.

5 30 2020 Coffee and a card... use up those scraps!

So I've been doing Facebook Live Coffee and a Card - to keep everyone engaged.  Each time I share a card, or technique, or in the case of my new upcoming one information on the new catalog and my catalog shares.  If you are on Facebook and interested - watch for this picture - I try to send out a day or two before I go live and again about an hour before as a reminder.
On the 30th of May I had one about using up some of your Designer Series Paper scraps - and below is the cards I made -

From the last card kit I offered I had a bunch of scraps left over from the kits - so I wanted to do something with them  - and this is what I came up with.  The base was in Whisper White a normal A2 base (dimensions in the video); then the Lovely Lipstick layer 5 1/4" x 4".  So the DSP strips for the vertical card were three 5" x 1 1/4" pieces.  If you line them up right next to each other - the fit perfectly with a nice border.
For the horizontal card I used four 3 3/4" x 1 1/4" strips and did the same thing.  You could also use five 3 3/4" x 1" strips or even ten 3 3/4" x 1/2" strips.  Then finish as you like.  I'm sharing the video here in case you'd like to make some cards of your own to use up strips.  Enjoy -

(Products Used - Best Dressed DSP, Dressed for Success Stamp Set, Stitched so Sweetly Dies, Light Soft Suede, Bronze, and Dark Lovely Lipstick Blends, Pearls, Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, glue dots, dimensionals, snail.)
You can join me on my Crazy Stamping Lady Facebook page - HERE! on Wednesday, June 3, at 9:30 AM (MST) for my next Coffee and a Card mentioned above.  Also on Friday, June 5, at 9:30 AM (MST) I am doing my second mystery stamping.  I'll be putting out the first clue soon on what you need to gather to join me and craft along - so watch for that.
In the meantime - have a great day, stay happy, stay healthy and stay creative!  See you soon ~Maureen

SF June 2019 Summer Blog Hop

Okay - I really hope you guys don't get sick of me and butterflies - but they make me so very happy - and what speaks to SUMMER more than butterflies.  I have about 100 of these beauties from the Butterfly Gala set stamped up, and I color them when I need a break from life.  And with a Summer Blog Hop theme - how could I resist using these amazing creatures again.
My favorite medium for coloring them is of course our Blends - just can't go wrong with them.  Any color or combo of colors seems to turn out beautiful.
Here are a few I did recently - don't they look like they just want to take off and fly?

For my cards today, I also used up a bunch of scraps.  I keep all those little half inch strips when we prep for our card layers - and then I use them to edge layers on new cards.
These bright colors are the perfect contrast with the black and white gingham.
So I add the strips - which mimic the look of a layer, without the weight or waste - pop on a couple butterflies with glue dots so their wings can still rise, and a sentiment.  Plus decorate the envelope of course - and DONE!
Here are a couple other samples, in other colors -

What a pretty trio of cards - what are you coloring today to brighten your mindset?  Why not a few butterflies :)
But - if coloring is not your thing -  you can still have FUN with butterflies.  Just look at these adorable little treat holders.
Gingham again from our retired Occasions catalog - but this time the butterflies are just stamped with black onto a coordinating color and punched out.  So no coloring!
This is made with an adaptation of the measurements on a 2-4-6-8 box.  I started with a 5 1/2" x 6" piece of gingham paper, scored it the short way at 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 4"  and 5" then scored horizontally across the bottom at 1".  So after folding and adhering it, it left a box 5" tall with front and back dimensions 1 1/2" and side dimensions 1".  I then punched a little indentation on each side with my 1/2" circle punch and ties a cute bow around before adding my sentiment and coordinating butterfly.  I just love how they turned out.

Here is a rough template for these - I always sketch out so I can remember how I made boxes.  It is easy to adjust to any size you need - Just be sure your 1st and 3rd panels are equal size; and your 2nd and 4th panels are equal size; and your bottom score is the same as your smallest panel (not including the flap).
Once again I hope you enjoyed these projects and got some inspiration for creating something wonderful.  I would love it, if you would leave me a comment below.  Don't forget to click through on each name below to see even more amazing Posts with a Summer theme.  See you soon with more ideas!  ~Maureen
