January Christmas Cards - Part II

So the other day I shared the 1st design from my January Christmas card class - and today I am sharing the 2nd design.  I guess with the 24 inches of snow we got last week - I had snow on my mind lol!  As I mentioned I do Christmas card classes every month - January through November - and they are a hit!  Takes so much of the stress out of making your cards by doing a few each month.  Our 2nd design used the Snowflake Wishes set from the Fall 2020 catalog carry-over list.

Here are a couple of the cards - we used retired DSP from the Holiday catalog - but so little of it shows - that you could just as easily stamp that layer or leave it blue.
The upper layers are popped up on Dimensionals to give it some fun dimension - and I added a bunch of gems for the snowflake sparkle!  Here's another angle.  I love the Rectangle Postage Stamp punch as it gives such character to your cards.
The image above shows how I stamped the envelopes and below is the inside of the card - just love this snow set - and the great sentiments in it.

CARD RECIPE - base is A2 Basic White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2" score along the long side at 4 1/4" - this is a horizontal card, stamped randomly with Misty Moonlight Snowflakes. Layer of Misty Moonlight 5 1/2" x 1 3/4"; layer of DSP layer is 5 1/2" x 1 1/2".  On top of that popped up on dimensionals - layer of Misty Moonlight 4 3/4" x 2 1/4", 3 pieces of Basic White stamped with Seaside Spray snowflakes and punched with the Rectangle Postage Stamp punch - spaced evenly on Misty Moonlight layer.  Piece of Seaside Spray 3 1/4" x 1" stamped with sentiment using Misty Moonlight Ink.  Basic White Envelope.  Rhinestone gems.  Seal adhesive and dimensionals.

Above the Clouds

Today I'm sharing one of the card designs I did for a recent New Catalog Swap I participated in (thanks Barbara W. for hosting).  I loved this set as soon as I saw it - and knew I had to get it; especially thinking it would make a great graduation card with this sentiment.  So for this card - the square of blue was made by stamping my "D" acrylic block directly onto my Seaside Spray (one of our new in-colors) pad - then spritzing it with a little water, and pressing it down on my card base.  You can see each one turned out a little differently.
After that was done and dry - I stamped the little balloons right onto the card base overlapping that blue sky; and colored them with our markers.  I stamped the large balloon and basket onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, colored and punched out with our new Hot Air Balloon punch.  You can find this bundle on page 89 of our new 2019 Annual Catalog.  Then I added the sentiment and popped up the large balloon on dimensionals - added a little bling in the air and I was done.
If you don't have our new catalog and would like one - just drop me an email at crazystampinglady@gmail.com.  They are free for porch pick-up; or $7 for mailing, but you will get a $7 off coupon for your first purchase - so it will end up being free.  This catalog is amazing and filled with lots of creative inspiration!  I'd love to be your Stampin' Up! demonstrator and creative coach.

Butterflies - I LOVE butterflies

Today I'm sharing a couple quick and easy card made with the Beautiful Day butterflies and some of Stampin' Up! Blends.  I just love coloring with blends - the name says it all - they are alcohol markers and the colors blend together so beautifully!

The other thing I love about them, is that you can color our clear Gems and White Pearls with the blends to make them match your project.  You can see the purple gems, and the peach colored pearls on these pictures.  Makes the embellishments so much more versatile. When I use blends, I stamp my image first with Memento ink, making sure it is completely dry, and then color away.  Everyone has their technique, but I do light all over - dark where I want it, then light to blend the edges where the colors come together. Works for me!
After everything was colored - I used another favorite product - Wink of Stella and went over each butterfly a couple times to give it that amazing sparkle.  Clean, Simple, Beautiful cards - what could be better!  ~Maureen

More Occasions Catalog Fun!

So I am simply in love with this beautiful stamp set from page 13 of our new Occasions catalog.  Beauty Abounds is a wonderful name for it - and those BUBBLE images - wow!  Took me only a few minutes to make this beautiful set of notecards - and the impact is amazing.  This notecard size is perfect for this image and these layers.
After stamping the bubble image a few times back and forth (note this image gives you all those different depths of colors with one inking) - I took my Momento Black and stamped the flourish image right over the top of the bubbles - then added the "hello".
Next I took the coordinating marker color and colored in just the flowers to really make them the focal point.  After that, all it took was a few gems and some colored layers on black (which really make the layers stand out) and voila - all done!   These would make a great gift set for a friend, and I can always use "hello" cards!
Hope you got some inspiration for #simplestamping here.  You can check out our catalogs online to see all the great products, as well as what you can qualify for free through March 31, 2019 during Sale-a-bration.

Stampin Friends December New Year Hop!

Lots of lovin' on this beautiful Suite of products from the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog - Year of Cheer!  I am so sad it is all retiring - but I stocked up a bit to use for my New Year's celebration.  So first my card - I love the Specialty Year of Cheer DSP - it is heavier like cardstock - and only one sided - so perfect for using as a card base as the inside is plain.
Then I punched stars and circles out of our Gold and Champagne foil sheets - as well as snowflakes out of a different pattern in the DSP to layer and give that festive and fun look below!
I also added some of the fun small black sequin and gold sequin strips tied on the side.  They lay nice and flat - even at the knot - so will mail well.  And to me they seemed to mimic the sprays of fireworks.
Then - for everyone coming over - I am making up these adorable diaper fold treat holders to match.  Each uses the same elements as the card - and holds a yummy caramel Ghiradelli chocolate.  I plan to put each person's name on a little tag and attach it.
And since I was in the creative mood - I made up this little wine tag below to attach to a bottle of wine that we'll be taking this weekend to a friend's house.  It will be the perfect little hostess gift.  Here I have it on cider - but it would work on any wine bottle also.
Here it is from a little different angle -  so you can better see I added a couple gems to give it some extra sparkle.  These wine tags are so simple - but add so much - after all, presentation is everything!
Hope you enjoyed these projects, and can use some of it for inspiration for your New Year's celebration.
