So recently I saw an great video by Ronda Wade showing gift bags made out of two sheets of DSP. I wanted to link it here - but I cannot find it now :( But I remembered making them from years and years ago - I'm pretty sure I first saw the idea at a Stampin' Up! convention presentation. I have so many old catalogs that I just hate to throw away, so I thought I'd adapt the pattern to make some cute little gift bags for my doorprizes at events. Here are a couple I came up with -
They were so easy to make - that I decided to feature a larger DSP bag at my clubs this month for one of our projects. Here was my sample -
This is retired DSP and I used the leftovers from the bag for decorating a matching 3x3 card.
Here it is from the top. The ribbon handles are just fed through and tied in a knot. So - I'm going to try and come up with some simple instructions and post them here soon - with a few more samples I made. In the meantime - hope you are inspired to do something creative today! ~Maureen

TOMBOW glue holder
These Tombow liquid glue holders are such fun items to make and useful to boot! The packages below were made as a gift for my TEAM members attending OnStage in Las Vegas.
Here is another view from the side lying down, so you can see how it was put together.
Below is a diagram of how I cut the pieces - the first is the insert that is scored, punched, folded and placed inside as that bottom section that holds the tip of the Tombow glue.
Here it is punched and scored.
The long piece is the out layer and top of the holder - here it is punched and scored.
The other two pieces in the diagram above just show you how the sections fold together and then the small one will adhere inside the folds of the larger piece. Below are the two pieces of DSP used to decorate (although different from the one used above.) They are 4 x 1 3/4" and 1 1/4" x 1 3/4" respectively.
Below is a picture of the ones I use on my tables and for classes. These were made with our thick Whisper White - which seems to stand up a little better.
See you soon! ~Maureen

Stampin' Friends Summer Hop -
It's SUMMER! You know - lazy, hazy, crazy days! Welcome to the Stampin' Friends Blog Hop for June - check out my blog post below, and then be sure to hop through all the rest (links at the bottom) to see all the amazing summertime projects and ideas.
It's a time of relaxation and contemplation - and hopefully lots of peace and tranquility - and that's exactly what the new set LilyPad Lake from Stampin' Up! brought to mind.
So I made this beautiful diorama card - just to share a little bit of the peacefulness. All the coloring was done with the Stampin' Up! blends and the water and sun have some Wink of Stella for sparkle. Can't you just imagine being there!?!
Above it a picture taken from a side angle - so you can see how the background image is set back because of the folding of the card, and when it lays flat it fits perfectly in the envelope. For my coordinating project - I decided to make this beautiful tumbled tile coaster. For this, the image was stamped with StazOn ink, colored with watercolor pencils, then sealed twice with glossy sealant (or matte would work also).
I've been making coasters like this for years and they hold up so well. Here is a side image where you can see I sponged a bit of crumb cake around the edge just to soften it a bit. I love the sentiments with this set, and every time I use this coaster - I will be reminded of who is in control. What a peace that gives me.
Hope you enjoyed my projects - now continue to hop on through the other blogs for more inspiration! ~Maureen

So LOVE this DSP - so SAD it's gone -
So - I've been a demonstrator for 21 years - and I think I can now safely say - this was my favorite Designer Series Paper from Stampin ' Up! ever! I've featured it a ton of times, and now it is gone - although I'm hoping to see it back on the clearance rack. It is simply beautiful - Petal Passion - colored with our Stampin' Up! Blends!
Coloring on this stuff is addictive - I just can't stop myself -
Hope you like the cards -clean, simple, with a real POP to them. ~Maureen
