ICS Blog Hop - November 2024 - Christmas is coming!

Welcome to our Inspire - Create - Share Blog Hop for November 2024!  So glad you are here! Christmas is right around the corner - before you know it, it will be here!
All of our projects this month focus on just that - Christmas is coming!
You might be hopping on over here from Elizabeth's site - who had some elegant holiday inspiration for us!  Be sure to hop on through all the great blogs below for more inspiration!

~*~*~*~*~

So I love the idea of creating a great piece of decorative art to be displayed in someone's home for the holidays!  Either my own home - or to gift.  I started with the Happy Houseplants kit - now you could certainly make up the kit just the way it comes and give the finished products as gifts. Or you could even give the kit as it to a crafty friend.

Happy Houseplants #163873 - $25.00 (US Market)*

But I chose to pull out a frame and mat from the kit and make a Holiday Decor piece.  Just a note - be sure to take the plastic film off both sides of the cover plastic.  Only one side of the film is printed on, and I missed taking off the other side at first.
So I used the brayer to add Pretty Peacock in to the mat from the frame.  I went over it several times till I got it the depth of color I wanted.  You could continue till it was solid - but I liked the mottled look - and the glass mat made clean up so easy!
For my project I was using a 6"x6" piece of the Oxidized Copper Specialty paper for my background - and I wanted more of it to show, so I ended up cutting down the mat to 1/2" and using it like a border around my image so more of the Copper would show.
Then, using the Shepherd's Care stamp set - I created this beautiful scene.  The Shepherd was fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals - making it more 3D - and these frames work perfect for that.
After that I just added a few rhinestone gems to the sky to add some sparkle and put it all in my frame - these frames are great as they have both a hanger for hanging and an easel for standing - so you can display as you wish.  I really love how it came together!
But, you are probably wondering, if you use your frames to do this, what do you do with the rest of your pieces of the kit.  Well, I did what we do best - make a card!!
I cut my plant base piece from the kit down to a cardfront layer size - 4" x 5 1/4" and layered it onto a Granny Apple Green card base.  Completed the image as show in the kit, added a sentiment (from "Textured Floral"), some Iridescent Adhesive backed Discs and a cute little bow-
I then used some foliage from "Spotlight on Nature" set and stamped it on the inside of the card and on the envelope - coming down from the top to mimic the hanging plant.
To continue our "Christmas is Coming" theme - you could do all four images from the kit on cards, tie them up with a bow - and they become another fun Christmas gift.  How fun is that!

Hope you liked this idea, and will try it!
Now be sure to follow the hop through and see what other creative ideas this team came up with.

2024 Fall-Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hi Everyone - welcome to our 2024 Fall-Winter Coffee Lovers - Blog Hop!  I'm excited to be one of the sponsors for the Fall-Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop. The hop kicks off today and runs through the 8th. All you have to do to be in the running for one of the great prizes is create a coffee, tea, hot cider or hot cocoa themed project and link it up on the official post over on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters blog.
So, I'm excited to share another fun creation with you - using Stampin' Up!'s super fun "More than Autumn" stamp/die bundle.  You can see a video of how I put this together HERE.
Item #164076 More than Autumn bundle $47.50

After die-cutting a portion of my Basic White layer, I stamped and colored all of these adorable Gingerbread men, Hearts, and Candy Canes!  One of my other loves is definitely coloring!
I popped up this layer on dimensionals and layered it onto  Real Red - which is layered onto Crumb Cake that is debossed with Stampin' Up's Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder.  A bow of Red/Gold dotted ribbon and some gold sequins were the finishing touch for this "yummy" card.

I had to give the inside of the card as much love as the outside.
And I certainly don't believe in "naked" envelopes -
Have fun checking out all the other wonderful posts in this hop!  You can find all of the "links" to the blogs in the hop HERE.  And be aware that the list will grow every day through the 8th - so keep checking back for more ideas!

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities - Nests of Christmas October 2024

Welcome to our Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop!  I am so excited to be a part of this team of hoppers sharing alternative designs for each month's Paper Pumpkin kit.  This month's kit is all about the beauty of birds!!  Hopefully what we show will inspire you.  Be sure to hop all the way through to see what this amazing team has come up with!
Here is the unboxing video - so you can see all that is included and how the kit can come together.
~*~*~*~*~
October: Nests of Christmas
Info on Kit Contents:
Spread Christmas cheer with this cozy, all-inclusive crafting kit!
• Makes 10 cards, 2 each of 2 designs with 10 coordinating envelopes
• Project includes printed tri-fold cards and precut grosgrain ribbon strips
• Foil Accents, Ephemera, Wide Tear and Tape
• Coordinating colors: Shaded Spruce (Classic Stampin’ Spot), Basic Black, Blueberry Bushel, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Gray Granite, Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red

~*~*~*~*~
Talk about a wonderful kit - this is it!  Everything about these cards shouts beauty and elegance.  The tri-fold design and foiling make them extra special for the holidays.
I didn't really want to change the cards, so instead decided to focus on alternatives using the discarded punched out layers from the kit cards, as well as the coordinating catalog products and the add-on dies!  Here's what I came  up with -
Card 1 -
For this card I used a base of Night of Navy and stamped the tree bough from the set in opposite corners tone on tone.  Then I layered the insert part of the card from the kit at an angle.  Next I die cut one of the tags using the add on dies from Peach Pie CS and added the Merry cut from the dies in Cherry Cobbler onto it.
The birds are die cut from the Nests of Winter DSP and I was able to use a partial edge piece because it fit on the tag perfectly - tied a Shaded Spruce ribbon with linen thread to it - and popped this entire layer up on dimensionals.  The Christmas as stamped with the PP stamp set and also popped up on the front.  Added a few Iridescent Foil Gems to finish it off. Here's the inside, because of the dark colored base I added a layer of Basic White -

Card 2 -
My second card starts with a Pool Party base and the same tree bough in the corners and the Merry Christmas with Shaded Spruce ink.  The insert that was punched out from the other card in the kit became my layer.  I used the cardinal image from the PP stampset; and the bough image from the Winterly Tree Top stamp set - both stamped in Memento ink and colored with assorted Stampin' Blends.  This entire layer was also popped up on dimensionals.
I love the foiling on the edge of the piece that gets punched out - it really adds to this card.  With a linen thread double bow and some Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels - it was done.  Here is how I finished the inside of this one -
If you want to see how the original cards in this kit looked and how mine came together with a few minor changes, you can check out my video here - VIDEO
I hope you've enjoyed these alternative ideas.  Now be sure to hop through the rest to get some more great inspiration.  Don't forget to leave a comment, as we'd love to hear what you think.
