August Paper Pumpkin - Alternative Project #2

So my Paper Pumpkin class for the August kit is over and I can continue to share what we did as our alternatives - here is the second project -

Tips
To duplicate you would use the card base from the kit that is Melon Mambo and speckled; the rectangle layer that is Bermuda Bay and speckled; the large butterfly cut in half; small purple butterfly and the long strip of the sentiment shown cut apart as shown..  I used discontinued embellishments - but you could use plain gems or pearls as is or colored with one of our Blends.

No stamping on the outside of this one.  Just place and adhere the elements as shown and add your gems.  The sentiment pieces were put onto dimensionals and the small butterfly adhered with a glue dot.  That was it - finish inside as you like and pick the envelope from the kit you want to go with it.

August Paper Pumpkin - Alternative Project #1

So my Paper Pumpkin class for the August kit is over and I can now share what we did as our alternatives - here is the first project -

Tips
To duplicate you would use the card base from the kit that has the swirls and spots on it; the yellow tag from the kit; the swirly flowers that are on the same sheet as the large butterfly and your stamps, ink pad and  sequins.

We just stamped the butterflies as shown.  Added the swirly flowers with just a little Tombow glue on the back.  Laid the tag on the card at an angle and then stamped the sentiment so it went straight with the card.  After stamping - we stapled a 3" piece of ribbon (your choice) folded in half to the top and popped the tag up on dimensionals.  That was it - finish inside as you like and pick the envelope from the kit you want to go with it.

Quick and Easy Four Angle Cards!

I am such a clean and simple girl when it comes to card-making.  And - I always, always do four cards when I do one - and put the extras in my bin.  So this way of making four angle cards so appeals to me.

It's a great way to showcase and use up some of your hoarded DSP!
And the great thing is you can embellish just a little, or a lot - and use for any type of sentiment that tickles your fancy!
Here is a close up of the bee one - on this one, I popped up the bee above my sentiment with a dimensional.
You can see a video on how I made these cards if you have a Facebook account - here is the link -

Hope you think they are as fun to make as I do!

SF 2021 August - All About the Paper Blog Hop

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for tons of wonderful inspiration as we celebrate "All About the Paper!!"
 ~*~*~*~*~
If you've come from Jo's post - she's a tough act to follow :)  All of Stampin' Ups! DSP's are stars - but when it comes to one that really shines for me it has to be the Expressions in Ink.  No wonder they could not keep up with the demand for so long.  This DSP can stand on it's own.  I made this beautiful card using a piece cut from 12x12" - and could get six nice cards of this type from one sheet.  The pattern that looks like alcohol ink is already there on the DSP.
Of course I needed to use the coordinating stamp set - Artistically Inked to add the beautiful rose and leaf as well as sentiment.  And some leaf pieces of the coordinating Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack to add some gold accents.
Finishing with a rose inside the card and on the envelope.

Next I created this adorable little adhesive tote to coordinate with the card - for this my three different sections were made with Just Jade Cardstock and pieces of the DSP for accents.  It holds my Tombow, glue dots, extra stick tape and my Seal - everything right at my finger tips!

Here is a blurry side view - sorry about that - but you can see how it goes together.  I found this from another demonstrator and changed it up a little bit - and  hope to do a FB live tutorial soon.  Will post the link here when I get it done.

Even the back looks nice!

Here it is all packaged up for gift-giving to go with that Happy Birthday card - I even included a brand new Tombow for the lucky recipient.

One Set - Three Ways!! Hand-penned Flowers

So last Monday I posted my next challenge -

It's different than past challenges - I decided this time to pick a set and make 3 different cards using it. Take a picture of the 3 cards together and post your cards in the comments on my FB business page under the logo above by Sunday, August 29th for a chance to win a prize! Let's get creative and have some fun with this!! You can go to the page HERE then scroll down till you find the link with the logo!

So for my Friday Facebook Live video, I decided to show my take on this challenge -

All three cards used the Hand-Penned Flowers set card 1 upper left used the flowers with no outlines to create a beautiful floral background; card 2 upper right used the outline only to create the background and focal point in Black and Vanilla to create an elegant look; and card 3 bottom used the out line, but out and colored with the floral stamp images in a more traditional way.  These were really fun to create.
If you'd like to see more about how they were created - you can watch the Facebook Live Video HERE!

SF 2021 June - Dream In Colors Blog Hop

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for tons of wonderful inspiration as we celebrate COLOR!!
 ~*~*~*~*~
The concentration this month is on our new in-colors (one or all) and I chose to focus on my very favorite - Pale Papaya!  I just cannot get enough of this color!

As well as the Hey Chick Bundle that is leaving us the end of the month.  I am so happy SU brought this back for awhile, and added dies!  It's a fav of mine also.  So I made this card and treat holder combo.  Here is the pattern for the treat holder.
These are great as they are origami - so they need no adhesive - and you can make them to  hold a Ghiradelli chocolate out of a 6"x6" piece of DSP.  Here it is with the scoring as above.
Trim out those top two sections as shown in the diagram.  after this you add in the diagonal folds in the four squares.
Then fold it all together similar to an explosion box, folding the back top two points together in back and the bottom two in front.  Slip your Ghiradelli chocolate into that space in the middle and close up.  I trimmed the flap on each side at an angle, so I could actually just slide it in the first little gap and it holds shut without adhesive.
Here it is closed and ready to decorate.
I tied ribbon and twine around to match the card and added my sentiment and "egg" :)
Here's a close up of the card.  I really enjoy using up my scraps as a background.  I always end up with all those little strips - and now they are not wasted.  All my coloring was done with Pale Papaya blends with a Pumpkin Pie accent.
So stinkin' Cute and fun!!

Paper Crafting Blog Hop June 2021 - Happy Birthday!

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for June 2021 featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you this month - all spotlighting projects that represent - Happy Birthday!

~*~*~*~*~
So - I am in love with our in-colors - and I always need birthday cards. So when I saw the theme I pulled out my package of in-color DSP and decided to go with an easy and fun design. I cut the DSP in 3/4" strips in differing lengths of 2 1/2", 2 3/4" and 3". And then just laid them down with adhesive in differing patterns and angles. I love how the background turned out. This was done in Evening Evergreen.

I used Polished Pink as my coordinating color - and the Artistically Inked stamp set. With the ribbon and the gems that also come in all the in-colors - it just came together. So guess what - I made some more - using all the In-colors.

Aren't they just beautiful. I love so much how they turned out. Here is one more close up - This one done in Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent. I just can't even pick a favorite.

~*~*~*~*~

I hope you enjoyed my post and would love it if you'd leave me a comment. Now click on through to the rest of those hopping this month to see all of their wonderful creations! ~Maureen
