September Christmas Card Stamp Camp 1

Here's the first card we made at the last Christmas Card Stamp Camp - isn't it pretty.  It has similar elements to the shaker card we made at Advanced cards (you can see that one HERE) I changed it up a bit for this class - but still love it!  The white thread is from the large baker's twine - I untwisted the orange from the white to use in two different ways.  We just used several strands and tied the bow.
Here's a close look - and to finish it, we ran the flap of the Christmas card through the Big Shot to add the little stars.  Nice finishing touch.

Halloween Card with a Surprise Ending

So here is the second card we made at this month's advanced card class.  It starts out as this simple, understated card - very much my style. The bat is made with the SU butterfly punch - you punch it once, then thread it back into the punch and punch off the bottom of the wings - cute, huh!

But then ..... a surprise - here are all the elements of the card ready to go.
The key is the little strips of gray - scored into fours evenly and then folded and taped into the card.  Where the ends meet in the bottom back - it has to line up with the inside fold of the card.
When you do that - add the elements - open the card - and you'll get this!
It's a fun pop-up card!!  Here it is from the side so you can see all the details and fun of this card.
And I feel the fun is all in the details - the sponged background - those little bats - the ghost rising and that cute little witches hat - just tossed so it landed on the tombstone.
This was really a FUN card to make - hope you liked it.  Can't wait till my next advanced class to see what we'll try :)  ~Maureen

So here is my first project sample this month's kit - "Hello Fall".  It uses some of the FUN components of the kit - the wood acorn and the gold button. 

 Here it is with the envelope - if you know me -  you know I'm all about a cute stamped envelope.  I love getting "stamped" mail.
 
 Here's another quick view from the top so you can see how the linen thread is threaded through the button, and the little acorn tied on.  You can also see here how the leaves were curled up a bit with a bone folder before attaching the top to the card with a glue dot.
