SF May Blog Hop - Masculine Theme

Well - Mom's day is over - so now it's all about the men lol!   Welcome to the Stampin' Friends Blog Hop for May - check out my blog post below, and then be sure to hop through all the rest (links at the bottom) to see all the amazing masculine projects and ideas.
For the cards above I used the Guy Greetings set - and let me tell you - it is killing me to see this set retired.  I have a hubby, brother-in-law, and a ton of brothers - and this has been my go to set!  It is especially great because it has a ton of images and sentiments.  So you can use it over and over again without repeating your card design.  These cards are for birthday's - but they could easily be transformed into Father's day with a change of the cover sentiment.
Guy Greetings Photopolymer - 137178 - $26.00
Below you can see how I added the 'to a classic' sentiment - and repeated the image from the front of the card.
Then to finish it off - I made these little Hershey nugget packages - so it can be given as a gift with the card.  I don't know about you - but the men in my life like chocolate - but all are watching their 'sweets' intake.  So these little nuggets are just the perfect size for a one a day treat.
They are covered with coordinating colors of cardstock, and then finished with a cute little tag to match the card.  How cute is that!
Hope you enjoyed my projects - now continue to hop on through the other blogs for more inspiration!  ~Maureen

Card 2 - Advanced Card Class

So here's the second card we made at Advanced Cards last month.  - it is a double Z card and a little less labor intensive than the last card.  I used the Guy Greetings set - which I really love.

Above it is folded closed for mailing, but below you can see it standing up open.

Each lady was given a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that they can write on and adhere to the third over brown panel.  Otherwise - if they adhered it first - it would be impossible to write on.

They were also given a choice of "Happy Birthday" or "Happy Father's Day" to use as their sentiment.  This is a fun, relatively easy card to make - that packs a punch!
The group really seemed to like it, and now I have some masculine cards on hand.  Loving that!  See you all soon.  ~Maureen

Great Masculine Card

Had to share this great masculine card that we made at the Fall Stamp Camp - I absolutely love this color combo - Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler.  The set is SU's Guy Greetings - and it is full of wonderful pictures and sentiments to make some great cards for the men in your life.
But my favorite part of the card is this little box in the front.  You can see it better in the side view.  By adding it you get wonderful dimension on the card - and it still folds flat to mail.  You just fold the box, tape it, and attach it to the front of your card.  Then that works for the base to attach the circle with the car image.  Also, I really love the splatters that mimic oil spills - those were made from some of the terrific images in the Gorgeous Grunge set - a must have.
Hope this card inspires you to try a new card fold or technique.  Just keep those creative juices flowing!!  See you soon and Happy WEEKEND!!  ~Maureen
