It is a Masculine kind of month - thank you for joining us as we celebrate our Guys! I decided to work with the retiring Country Road stamp set from Stampin' Up!s last chance list. I have loved this set - and used it many times for collage stamping - but today did a different take on it.

I ended up making this masculine card and a matching treat box out of one of our half size stamp cases. For my card - I used the beautiful Copper Metallic paper - as I love the way it looks with rich blues and browns. Notice those marks on the Weather Vane image - they were not supposed to be there, but after my card was all finished it tipped over onto the wheel stamp below, that was laying there inked - so instead of starting over - I just tapped it on there a few more times to get kind of a vintagy look to the image - and I liked it! No one will ever know - right?
And to save waste on that beautiful copper paper - I cut the large scallop square out of the large layer before adding to the front of my card -
Next I took one of our 1/2 size empty stamp boxes and created a matching liner with Whisper White Card stock -
Then decorated it to coordinate with the card - for a great gift/treat holder. Haven't filled mine yet - but I'm thinking wrapped Hershey's nuggets and a gift card will go inside. Of course I had to add a few of those little lines to my weather vane here for consistency.
And remember my tip of saving on the copper paper - well I actually die cut this little scallop layer above out of the center of the larger scalloped square. It's a great way to extend the use of your fancier more expensive papers. I actually did a little stamping on the back of the cardstock so it shows on the inside the case too -

Such a great project! I love when a little mistake turns into a happy part of a project! Looks great thanks for sharing!
As always, your projects are wonderful! I bought that foil and haven't used much of it. Thanks for reminding us about how to make use of the cut out pieces. Great idea for a gift box! I will have to order a few of those before they retire!
Love the idea of using the stamp cases for a gift box! Great projects, Maureen!
Such great projects Maureen. Love how you made the 'mistake' such a wonderful part of the design xx
Love the idea of using the stamp cases as gift packaging!
Love the look of the copper. Beautiful card and gift!
I am so sad this set is retiring, it is so easy to use, just as you showed here! Great job!
I'm sad this set is retiring but you have inspired me to ink it up with your beautiful projects. Wow! Love the blue with the copper and that little "oops" turned out to be a really cool detail. You have to love when that works out, right? Great idea with the stamp cases, too.
Love the touches of copper. I can't believe that paper is being retired. Lovely projects!
What a great masculine card. Love the waste saving tip too. Thanks for sharing.
My girls would love your projects since they are addicted to horses. Great job! Thank you a lot for sharing!
