Paper Crafting Blog Hop August 2023 - Punches Galore!

 Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for August 2023 - featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. We have a wide array of projects and design styles to share with you this month - and every one of them uses a punch or two!

Okay - so I love punches!! I really like dies also, but the quick, convenience of punches is just awesome. I also love that Stampin' Up! has put some wonderful circle punches back in both the catalog and online exclusives - I use them all the time. I just recently discovered a really cute fun fold card that doubles as a gift card holder and uses punches - so had to do it for here.

I used this punch to create my card - a Circle Tab card.

So here is my card -

Starts with a base that is 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 1 1/2", 5 3/4" and 9 3/4". After adding DSP to the top front flap - you punch out a circle trying to center the crease on it. Then you punch another circle (same size or smaller) and will add that back later. Here is the inside of card when open.

And the Gift Card holder section in use -

For my card I used these two sets - which worked perfectly - I stamped the cupcake and colored the frosting. Then stamped just the cupcake liner onto the circle patterned paper fussy cut both and paper pieced the liner onto the other image. Popped it up on my circle to finish off the card - fun, fun, fun!

·       Miscellaneous: Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio (161206); ¼” Bordered Ribbon Lost Lagoon (161171); Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs – Lost Lagoon (161680), Lemon Lolly (161673), Crushed Curry (161661); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Stampin’ Seal Adhesive (152813); Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush (141897)

 Measurements:

 ·       Basic White: 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored at 4 ¼”, 3” x 4 ¼”; scrap for 2” circle punch

·       Inked Botanicals DSP Crushed Curry plaid 4” x 5 ¼”

·       Inked Botanicals DSP Lost Lagoon plaid 3 5/8” x 4 7/8”

·       Lemon Lolly: Scrap for 2 3/8” circle punch

·       ¼” Bordered Ribbon Lost Lagoon: 4” to wrap and 3” to tie on

 Instructions:

 1.    Stamp the Ocean scene onto Basic White scrap and punch with 2” circle punch.  Color using Stampin’ Blends and add sparkle with Wink of Stella to sun, rays and ocean foam.  Note: allow Memento Ink Tuxedo Black to dry for a few minutes before coloring with Stampin’ Blends.  You can proceed with step 2 before coloring image.

2.    Stamp “Warm Hello” near top of Basic White rectangle.  Wrap longer piece of ribbon around near bottom as shown and adhere on both sides on back.  Slip smaller piece of ribbon under first piece and tie on.  Mount this centered onto the Tranquil Tide DSP layer; then that centered onto the Crushed Curry DSP layer and that onto the card base.

3.    Punch a 2 3/8” circle from the Lemon Lolly scrap – mount image from above to center of this circle.  Pop this up on front of card using Stampin’ Dimensional.

4.    Add three of the Pretty Peacock sequins to the front of the card.

·       Tools: Scalloped Contour Dies (155560); 2 3/8” Circle Punch (161354); 2” Circle Punch (133782); Crafting With You Dies (161225); Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Heat Tool (129053); Paper Snips Scissors (103579);

Measurements:

 ·       Misty Moonlight: 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored at 4 1/4”

·       Boho Blue DSP 4 1/8”” x 5 3/8”,  4” x 5 1/4”, die cut with largest Scalloped Contour Die

·       Pebbled Path 3” x 5/8”

 Instructions:

 1.    Adhere larger piece of DSP to card base.

2.    Punch circle from bottom right corner of die cut DSP with 2 3/8” Circle Punch.

3.    Wrap white twine three times around the die cut DSP, feeding through the scalloped holes, and tying in a bow.  Attach to the card base with Dimensionals.

4.    Stamp the cupcake onto Basic White CS using Misty Moonlight Ink.  Cut out with Paper Snips Scissors, adhere to a scrap of Misty Moonlight Cardstock, and cut out again leaving a border of Misty Moonlight.

5.    Stamp the sentiment onto the strip of Pebbled Path using Versamark Ink, and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

6.    Punch a circle from the Vellum CS using the 2” Circle Punch, and attach to the card base with just a little adhesive in the center.

7.    Cut one end of the Pebbled Path sentiment strip, and attach to the card with Dimensionals.

8.    Add the cupcake with Dimensionals, overlapping the sentiment strip a little.

9.    Die cut five or six hearts from Moody Mauve CS with the Crafting for You dies and attach to the card with Mini Glue Dots.  Brush with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
