Paper Crafting Blog Hop - August 2024 - Masculine

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop for August 2024 - featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. We have a wide array of projects and design styles to share with you this month - and every one of them is spotlighting projects made with a Masculine theme!

~*~*~*~*~

I always need masculine cards - as there are many men in my life. They are still very difficult for me - I can never decide how to make them nice, quality - without ribbon etc. So I decided to really go with simple lines - and I used the Perennial Lavender DSP in a different way.

I wanted some simple plaid - but there was nothing in my current stash - so I pulled the simple Crumb Cake herringbone design from the paper pack - and using a ruler, a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker and a Poppy Parade Stampin' Writer maker to add some lines and color. You can see in the picture - just what a difference that makes.

I layered my pieces of DSP onto Poppy Parade and Basic Black to make the POP against the Crumb Cake background layer - which was added to my Basic Black card base.  I really love the black/tan combo.  My sentiments are from the Online Exclusive set - Frosted Forest.

#164344 Frosted Forest $21.00*
And I added a bit of linen thread around each end - I like this look for a guy - a bit of added texture to the card - but not ribbon.

The embellishments are the Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems from the current annual catalog.  I finished the inside with a little strip of the DSP.

And of course another strip on my envelope, as I can't leave any envelope "naked."  Lol!

I hope you like it and that I showed you to think outside the box with your DSP. Thank you so much for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts and comments!
