For my project I chose to use the beautiful Specialty Splendid Day paper - let me tell you - add this to your card and you basically don't need to do anything else - this card starts out a a piece of cardstock that is 5 1/2" x 10" scored along long side at 1", 3", 7" and 10" and then folded back, forward, forward and back to meet in the center (a type of gatefold card).
Splendid Day Specialty has 6 beautiful colors of foil all imprinted with amazing foliage images on both the foil side and the back -
The most coppery image looks wonderful on Soft Suede cardstock - and I used a coordinating color for the small strips and belly band.
In the picture above you can see - I overlap the belly band in the front. That way I can completely cover the seam with my embellishments. I used the Season of Chic stamp set (because these sentiments and leaf are awesome) and Cajun Craze ink, as it looks lovely on the metallics.
"Thinking of you" and "I'm here for you" are two of my favorite sentiments are are simple and straightforward enough to be used on encouragement cards, or most any card. But just getting it in the mail would encourage me :) Here is the inside.
You can probably tell that the way I constructed this card - you pull the belly band off from the top, as it nestled under the oak leaf when you slide it on.
I hope you got some inspiration from this card. Thank you so much for stopping by and I would love any comments!
