Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop - February 2020

  Our theme this month is Sale-a-bration. So I chose to use our Golden Honey Specialty DSP!

This paper is soooo rich and beautiful - the designs are in black, white and metallic gold - one side features more busy designs with bees and honeycombs, etc. while the other is more reserved and elegant.  This gives you almost unlimited options!  Plus it coordinates beautifully with the Honey Bee bundle on page 30 of the Jan - June 2020 mini catalog.

So I combined the products to make this adorable "Sweet Friend" card -

And here is the inside - all ready for me to write a note!

I also used a very similar layout to create New Year's gifts for my Team and Club members.

But in this case - I turned them into an easel calendar display for a desk.

I love easel cards in general - but when you can combine them with a calendar and make them a practical gift - well, why not!

You can see on the above samples that I used several different designs of the DSP on my projects - and they all look wonderful!  I have definitely stocked up on this DSP - don't think I can get enough of it.  Hope you enjoyed it too.  Not click below to hop on to the next blog in the line-up. Christmas Year Round

Many of you who follow me know that I do Christmas Card classes year round with my customers.  These classes run January through November and are always well attended.  So through out the year I will share some samples with you to keep you inspired and help you get ahead of the game if you'd like to CASE them.  My first is this beautiful card we made with the Snow Front set from the Holiday catalog - that is now still available for purchase on the carry over list.  I think it is just such a lovely set. 

The set allows you to build your own scene, and depending on the colors you use - it can be anytime of the year.  We did a winter scene for our card here - by adding bare trees, cardinals - and some snowflake sequins.

The background layer was made using the Woodland embossing folder from the Annual catalog - an all-time favorite.  The Seasons Greetings is from the discontinued So Many Stars set, but any holiday sentiment would be appropriate.

Hopping Around the World Blog Hop - Stamping Techniques!

I am so very happy to be hopping with this lovely group of stampers for the month of January as we share a favorite technique or two.   I decided to share Paper Piecing two different ways - as that is what I shared with my clubs this month.  The first way is fussy cutting the paper - close to the lines and then pasting it over the stamped image as shown here with the umbrella.  This has always been a fun technique for me - as I LOVE fussy cutting.

The second way was one I never tried before - but I found a very similar card on Pinterest and just loved the look.  It is using the Big Shot to die cut an image twice (once for the outline, and once for the inner pieces) and then paste each piece into the correct slot - for this amazing inlaid look -

I used the Water Lily dies from Sale-a-bration as they are so elegant.  The Happy Birthday is from another Sale-a-bration set - Happy Birthday to You!  After cutting out the inlaid pieces, I had this beautiful colored water lily frame left - so had to add it to the inside of my card -

Sunflowers - Not just for Fall

So SIP is where it all starts - Stamps, Ink and Paper!  
That is all I have going on for this card - and I really love it.   This is one of my favorite stamp sets - not only for fall - but all year round.  I super love Sunflowers and these come together so easily and have so much depth just by stamping a few times moving the layers just a tiny bit.  I made up about 20 of these in just an hour - assembly line style.

I'm always in need of cards for customers and thank you's and these are perfect.  I used the Stampin' Up! notecards as they are pre-cut, pre-scored, a bit smaller and have the envelopes with them - so making up a bunch is quick and easy.

SF 2020-January Birthday Bash Blog Hop - Bonanza Buddies

It's a Birthday Bash month - so be sure to hop on through to all of the blogs on the list.  Who doesn't need birthday ideas - what a great way to start out the year!!

That is what I said when I saw this SUITE of products!  It was definitely love at first sight when I opened the new Stampin' Up! January-June 2020 Mini catalog and saw all these adorable colors and critters.

If you can look at these and not smile - well then - I don't know what to say.  I just break out in a huge grin.  I started out with the card below for a class a couple weeks ago - very simple and cute - and uses the Bonanza Buddies Bundle and pom-poms from the suite, as well as the sequins and twine you can get for free during Sale-a-bration.  How great is that!?!

The hat is attached to the bird with a glue dot, the bird is popped up on dimensionals, and I added the mini pom-pom with a mini glue dot.  Here's how I finished the inside of the card and the envelope.

Then this past weekend I hosted a thank you party for customers who helped me earn the Maui incentive trip - and I decided to use the paper and set again - just can't get enough of it.  This simple little note card came together very quickly with a couple punches.  The gift was fussy cut and popped up on a dimensional.

Finally I decided to make a sweet little treat holder to match - here are some of the products I used.

I'm making a sour cream container - or at least that is what I was told they were called.  I'm starting with a 6x6" piece of the Birthday Bonanza DSP and rolling it into a tube - I used extra sticky tape to secure it along the side.

Then you put the extra sticky tape in each end of the tube just inside and close one end; and then close the other end - one vertically - one horizontally.  Before closing the second end you can add shred, treats, gifts, etc.  This one is big enough to hold a gift card once you kind of flatten it.  You can change the size by adjusting the size of your original square of DSP.  Here it is from the top view as it would sit on the table.  Wouldn't these be great at table settings for a birthday party?

And here is a photo taken a little from the side so you can see what I mean about the ends.  It is supposedly called a sour cream container - because the shape is like the sour cream containers Wendy's used to give out with their chili - so easy, so cute, so fun!

What a cute little gift presentation this would be for a birthday gift!

Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop - January 2020

Our theme this month is based on the fact we are celebrating Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration. Projects can be made with any combo of products from the Annual catalog, the Mini catalog or the SAB catalog.* I chose to use the Best Dressed products for my project. Just look at these adorable mini-cards.

They come in a package of 24 cards and envelopes - 8 each of 3 different designs is a great gift giving 3x3" size.  And just look how cute these mini envelopes are.  So very feminine.  This is a very "girly" suite - and I am loving it!

The stamp set includes images of shoes, flowers, perfume, lipstick and more - but I stuck with the perfume for my project - as I think it looks great on all three colors.  I colored the perfume bottles with coordinating colors of our Blends alcohol markers; as they are a favorite coloring tool for me.  No shading on this project, just coloring.  Then I just popped them up on the mini cards to get these beauties!
