May: Mountain Majesties

So excited for this kit, as I NEVER have enough male cards - and this kit is definately filling that void.  Here are the two alternatives I came up with this month.  Hope you like them.
Just to let you know - just like last month, these bases are so great that I had to cut them all in half to double the cards I can make -  that means I'll get 18 cards.  So here is what I created with just one base - cutting the front to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and backside down to 4" x 5 1/4".
My first card is layered onto a base of Basic Basic White - but covers the entire front of it.  I took the punch out piece from below on the left, and cut it down a bit, then cut the remaining into three vertical strips.
I then layered those three pieces onto Basic Black and cut around them - and popped them back up over the card base front with dimensions.  I also used the punched out sentiment - placed it onto one of the white labels, and cut that down and flagged it on the bottom edge. These are masculine cards for sure - and they are so great - so I skipped any additional embellishments.  Love the way it looks.
The envelopes in this kit are very cool also, and I can't guarantee I won't be cutting a few of them apart to use on more cards.
Then I layered the other piece of the cardbase onto a Basic White base and allowed the white edge to show.  For this card I popped up the Trees piece on dimensionals.  Then stamped the flock of birds above the mountains and the Happy Birthday on a flagged label piece.
My fun on this card was using Lost Lagoon and Misty Moonlight pads and the blending brush to add some similar wavy images to the inside of the card and the envelope.  I just used a piece of cardstock that I cut a bit wavy.

I just love the way both of these turned out and am looking forward to finishing the rest of the kit.
I hope you've enjoyed these alternative ideas.  Now be sure to hop through the rest to get some more great inspiration.  Don't forget to leave a comment, as we'd love to hear what you think.

Great job! I especially like the way you recreated layers on the inside of the card and on the envelope. :)
