SF 2020 - September - Fall/Outdoor/Halloween - Blog Hop

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for tons of wonderful inspiration!
It is a Fall/Outdoor/Halloween kind of month!

~*~*~*~*~

I LOVE FALL!  Finally getting some relief in our 90 degree temperatures - and I'm loving that too.  So for a recent class we made a beautiful peek-a-boo wreath card using the Beautiful Autumn Bundle of products from page 45 of the August-December Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog.  Let me tell you - this is only two of many projects you are going to see me make with this suite - as it is just simply amazing!  In fact, check out yesterday's post HERE.  Then  continue down in this post and you'll see a lovely 3D item using this bundle.

Start out by cutting about an approximately 2 1/2" circle through the two layers of the front of our card.  (Card base is an A2 base of Cajun Craze, first layer is 5 1/4" x 4" layer of Very Vanilla)  This allows a visual hole that we could stamp our sentiment through (I used Cinnamon Cider for the sentiment - and it is stamped on the inside layer of Crumb Cake also 5 1/4" x 4").  Next I inserted a piece of scrap paper and stamped the leaf clusters around the circle using Garden Green to form the base of my wreath.

I had stamped and cut out many different elements for this wreath - five maple leaves stamped with Soft Sea Foam on Soft Sea Foam cardstock; five Oak Leaves stamped with Cinnamon Cider on Very Vanilla Cardstock and five acorns stamped with Soft Suede on Crumb Cake cardstock.  These were all punched out with the three punches in this bundle.  Next I stamped five of the elm outlines and inside with Cajun Craze and fussy cut them.

Finally, using these elements I assembled the wreath with glue dots, being careful no glue showed in the center of the hole so it would not stick to inside of the card.  I added a strip of plaid DSP for an accent, a triple linen thread bow and several little gems that were colored with the Cajun Craze blends.  I really like the way it turned out.

But, I love this bundle sooooo much and the beautiful DSP that coordinates with it - Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper - that I decided to alter a cute little stand up frame that I found at the local .99 Store.

I traced around the clip at the top with lightweight paper.  Then cut out four strips of the DSP.  On the top one, I cut out the traced opening to fit around the clip.
After adhering all four strips in the pattern I wanted, with Tombow Liquid Glue - I added this wonderful sentiment from the bundle, some braided trim; and a cute little punched out acorn.  Just loving how it turned out.

I hope you like it too and found some inspiration - altering wooden 3D items is so easy and has so much impact.
