Our theme for August is Happy Anniversary - because it is the 10th Anniversary of this Blog Hop!  Guess the 10th anniversary is as good of time as any to join right?  You might be hopping on over here from Elizabeth's site - wasn't her post great!

So for my card I decided to combine two of my favorite floral "love" sets - Lifetime of Love and Layers of Beauty.

These two sets went together beautifully to create this lovely Happy Anniversary card as I really wanted the "Happy Anniversary" that was in Layers of Beauty; and the smaller spray of roses that came in Lifetime of Love - 

I used Unbounded Beauty DSP, Glimmer Specialty Paper and both Lifetime of Love and Stylish Shapes dies to bring it all together.  A little trick for my bling - was to use a regular office hole punch and punch out 5 dots of the glimmer paper and add them scattered on the front of the card.

The sentiment from Lifetime of Love finished the inside of my card -

Measurements:

 ·       Basic Beige Card Stock: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” (card base)

·       Crumb Cake Card Stock: 3 1/4” x 5 1/2”

 Instructions:

 1.    Score & burnish card base @ 4 1/4”, dry emboss the whole card front with the Timber 3D embossing folder

2.    Emboss selected Thoughtful Journey DSP with the Changing Leaves Hybrid Folder, adhere to Crumb Cake Card Stock, adhere to card front

3.    Use the Changing Leaves Hybrid Folder to emboss & die cut large Mossy Meadow leaf, adhere to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals

4.    Stamp greeting on Basic White Card Stock, die cut with label die making sure greeting is to the far right side of the die, adhere to card front with dimensionals on the right side and Multi Purpose Liquid Glue on the left side of label

5.    Die cut small leaf with Wild Wheat Card Stock, adhere to label on the left side

6.    Tie a double bow with Linen Thread, adhere with Mini Glue Dot

·       Card Stock and Paper: Basic White (159276), Basic Black (121045), Azure Afternoon (161719)

·       Stamp Pads: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad (132708)

·       Tools: Lifetime of Love (162583); 2” Circle Punch (133782)

·       Miscellaneous: Rhinestone Basic Jewels (144220); Black & Very Vanilla 3/8” Large Check Ribbon (161982); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Stampin’ Seal Adhesive (152813); Adhesive Sheets (152334); Mini Glue Dots (103683); Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack (161672)

 Measurements:

 ·       Basic White: 5 ½” x 8 ½” base scored at 4 ¼”

·       Basic Black: 4” x 5 ¼”; 3 ½” x 4 ¾” for die cut

·       Azure Afternoon: 3 ¾” x 5”

·       Basic White: scrap for circle punch

·       Black & Very Vanilla 3/8” Large Check Ribbon 4 ¼” and 10”

 Instructions:

 1.    Adhere larger Basic Black CS piece to the Basic White Base.

2.    Color both pieces of ribbon using the Light Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blend. Wrap the small piece of ribbon around the Azure Blue layer and adhere on the back.

3.    Adhere Adhesive sheet to the back of the smaller Basic Black CS layer and die cut the floral piece – running back and for in the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine till complete cut through.  Remove the backing and add die cut to the front of the card centered and over the ribbon.

4.    Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto the scrap of Basic White, and punch out with the 2” Circle Punch.  Pop this circle up on Stampin’ Dimensionals centered side to side in the die cur with an even border around the sides and top.

5.    Tie the longer piece of ribbon into a bow and trim ends – add to card just below the sentiment with a mini glue dot.

6.    Adhere 6 or more Rhinestone Basic Jewels onto the front of the card.

July Card Class Projects

 

So last month's class was held at a local coffee shop - Brasshorn Coffee - and we had such a great time.  Of course I had to start out with something yummy!

We made three different projects - two card designs two of each; and 1 3D peoject - all using the Changing Leaves hybrid bundle.

Card #1

A simple white on white card - I love the elegance of this card - would make a really beautiful wedding card, but just as easily a sympathy card by just changing out the sentiment.

Card #2

Our second card went with more of a fall theme with the colors - and it was a fun easel card.  This would be so nice for Thanksgiving - could even be stood up at each place setting with a name attached.

3D Project

This month's project was a simple little treat holder - and of course we had to add a yummy treat.  This hold takes minimal supplies and can be adapted in size to fit any type of treat and any occasion.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities - Painted Petals July 2024

 

Welcome to our Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop!  I am so excited to have joined this team of hoppers sharing alternative designs for each month's Paper Pumpkin kit.  This is such a great month to start - as the kit is nothing short of AMAZING!!  Hopefully what we show will inspire you.  Be sure to hop all the way through to see what this amazing team has come up with!

So - this kit was so beautiful on it's own - that really no alternatives were needed - but I decided to bring in my favorite new InColor, Summer Splash.  I used the Daisy diecut piece from the kit and added it to a card front with a strip of the Summer Splash Glimmer paper 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" that was popped up on dimensionals.  I like the way it shows off a different color scheme from the original kit.

I added a strip of Unbounded Beauty DSP - 1/2" x 5 1/2" on each side leaving white showing between each section.  Then finished it off with a sentiment from the kit on a 7/8" x 2 3/8" strip.  A final little bit of bling was added with 3 of the orange tinted sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins pack.

Then (because I couldn't stop playing) I also took the adorable stamp set in the kit and made this set of 3x3" notes, perfect to add to any small gift you are giving - the colors of blends I used for coloring are Cajun Craze, Highland Heather and Poppy Parade. The add-on dies from this quarter's add-on die option, cut the flower out and made it quick and easy for these to come together.  I popped those flowers up on a stamped layer using dimensionals, and added a bit of twine colored with the same blends and tied in a bow - and voila!
