ICS Blog Hop - October 2024 - Giftables!

Welcome to our Inspire - Create - Share Blog Hop for October 2024!  So glad you are here!  Fall is definitely my favorite time of year and October my favorite month.  One reason is it kicks off an amazing Holiday Season.  Halloween - Thanksgiving - Christmas!
This season is all about thinking of others and gift-giving; so our theme this month is giftables!!
You might be hopping on over here from Malia's site - with some great inspiration!
Thank you for joining us!!

So I chose to share one of my favorite gifts to give - a notebook holder.  I don't know about you - but I love all things paper and have a huge collection of notebooks - probably way to many.  But I love to make them pretty for gifts.
This one is one of my favorites to make - it holds a 5" x 8" notebook with a pocket on the left to hold notes, lists, coupons, etc.
I started with a 12" x 12" piece of Basic Black - scored it at 3" one way, turn 90 degrees and scored at 5 7/8" and 6 1/8".  Cut on those last two score lines from the bottom, up to the 3" horizontal line and then cut out that little strip, so that it folds up better. Next fold up those two 3" sections from the bottom and adhere with a strong adhesive on the two outside sides - I used SU! Tear and Tape.  Then decorate as desired.  I did the front, the two fold up pockets, and added a strip of the DSP to the very top of the notebook for good measure.
This is where you can use your creativity and show your style.  For mine I used the Regal Winter Designer Series Paper; Shaded Spruce Ribbon; Rhinestone Basic Gems; the Sketched Butterflies Bundle; Wink of Stella and the Labeled with Love punch.  I love this little trick for getting some color behind your label.
Punch once with Basic White and stamp your sentiment - then punch again with Crushed Curry - cut this piece in half horizontally and adhere the pieces to the top and bottom back of the sentiment piece.  Allow a bit of the Crushed Curry label to show - this will make your sentiment layer pop!
Hope you liked this idea, and will try it!
Now be sure to follow the hop through and see what other creative ideas this team came up with.  See you next month when we're back for the November hop!
