It's Sunday - and time to share another great card and free tutorial!   This week I'm sharing a beautiful card made with my bundle bonus for the month, Merry & Bright - I  hope you like it!

·       Cardstock and Paper: Basic White Thick (159229); Basic White (159276); Pool Party (122924); More Dazzle 6” x 6” Specialty Paper (161749)

·       Stamp Pads: Pretty Peacock (150083); Whisper White (147277); White Craft Stampin’ Ink Refill (101780); Poppy Parade (147050); Versamark (102283)

·       Tools: Blending Brushes (153611); Water Painters (151298); Merry & Bright Dies (161950); Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Heat Tool (129053);

·       Miscellaneous: Basics Embossing Powders (155554); Metallics Embossing Powders (155555); Adhesive Sheets (152334); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Stampin’ Seal Adhesive (152813); Blooming Pearls (162238)

 Measurements:

 ·       Basic White Thick: 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5 1/2”

·       Pool Party: 4” x 5 1/4"

 Instructions:

 1.    Sponge Pretty Peacock ink with a Blending Brush onto the Pool Party Cardstock, creating a darker edge, and a lighter area in the middle.

2.    When the ink is dry, stamp a sentiment from the Joy to You Stamp Set in the center with Versamark Ink, and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

3.    Using the small star stamp from the Merriest Trees Stamp Set, randomly stamp stars on the background with Versamark Ink, and heat emboss with gold embossing powder.

4.    Cover the sentiment with a small piece of paper or post-it note. Squeeze a little of the White Craft Refill onto an acrylic block.  Add one or two drops of water from a Water Painter and mix well.  Pick up some ink with the Water Painter and flick drops onto the sponged panel. Set aside to dry.

5.    Stamp five bulbs from the Merry & Bright Stamp Set with Poppy Parade Ink.  Stamp over the image with the same stamp and Versamark Ink, and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Repeat with the Versamark and Clear embossing powder one or two more times, until the bulbs are smooth and shiny. Die cut the bulbs.

6.    Add a piece of Adhesive Sheet to the back of the More Dazzle paper, and die cut the bulb filaments, the bulb holders, and two or three of the light strings.

7.    Peel the backing from the filaments and bulb holders and attach to the bulbs.

 8.    Adhere the bulbs to the card base with Dimensionals.  Cut the string into smaller strips and attach to the card base, tucking the ends under the bulbs so they don’t show.

9.    Trim off any parts of the bulb that are hanging over the edge of the panel, and attach it to the card base.

10. Embellish with Blooming Pearls.

Simple Sketch #9 Challenge - November 2023

 

Join me for some FUN! Each month (almost) I will be doing a new sketch challenge around the last week of the month.

A Monthly Sketch Challenge!

Here is the sketch! Use it as your inspiration - your card should contain all the layers, but you can take some liberty with them. Add any embellishments you wish.

You might recognize this from my FB Live video 11/25/2023 - here is the card I created -

Just use the sketch and have fun.  The rest is up to you - just try and have similar layers!  The coloring on the sketch, is just to show the layers - use any colors you wish!!  Here's the sketch with the measurements I used -

SF-2023 November Blog Hop - Tags, Boxes & Bags

 

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for great inspiration as we create some great projects focusing on Tags, Boxes and Bags.

 So for my project we're making a cute little no cut box out of a 6" x 8 1/2" piece of DSP.  I'm using a beautiful metallic snowflake DSP - but any will work - and can be changed out for any season, any reason.

Start with a piece of cardstock or DSP 8 1/2" x 11"  -  score on short side at 1 1/2" and 4 1/2"; then turn and score on long side at 3 1/4" x 5 1/4".  Crease all lines well with a bone folder.

Next grab one of the lower horizontal creases and pull it down to meet the first vertical crease - using a bone folder tip at the intersection to be sure it is a good 90 degree crease.

 Do this on all four side sections and crease well.

Above is how your creases should look on the backside.

Above is a picture of how you will fold sides in, but before you do that - add two tiny bits of adhesive as shown below to secure.

The fold up the sides and secure - it will now look like this.

When you fold the ends up it forms this little box.

As you can see - you can place some wonderful treats inside - here it's show with five Ghirardelli caramel chocolates - yummy!

I finished this one off by pulling up the sides, punching a couple holes, feeding a ribbon through and stamping a design - so easy - so cute!

Share it Sunday! Free tutorial - Magical Meadow

 

It's Sunday - and time to share another great card and free tutorial!   This week is Thanksgiving so I'm sharing a card to let you all know how very thankful I am for you.  I love the look of this beautiful card made for fall with a Christmas set.  Enjoy!  Have fun!

 Measurements:

 Pecan Pie:  8 ½” x 5 ½”

• Cajun Craze: 4 ¼” x 3 ¼”
• Very Vanilla:  3” x 4”; 5” x 3 ¾”, 1” strip
• Crushed Curry:  1 ½” strip
• Let’s Go Fishing DSP:  4 ½” x 3 ½”
• Pecan Pie Ribbon: 6”
• Linen Thread:  11”

 Instructions:

 1.    Score and fold the Pecan Pie cardstock for your card base.

2.    Using Stampin’ Write Markers, color directly on the berry stamp.  Use Old Olive for the leaves and stems, color in the entire berry with Pumpkin Pie and then add a little Cherry Cobbler along the base and top of each berry.  Repeat these steps as you stamp the berries to create a vine of them.

3.    Stamping off first, stamp the leaves from Botanical Layers using Crushed Curry.  Stamping off again, use additional leaves from Magical Meadow with Crumb Cake and stamp along the edges to fill in blank spots.

4.    Wrap and adhere the Pecan Pie Bordered Ribbon along the right side.  Adhere this Very Vanilla panel to the Cajun Craze.  Tie a bow using the linen thread.   Adhere the Let’s Go Fishing DSP to the front and then add this stamped panel using dimensionals.

5.    Stamp the greeting of your choice using Cajun Craze on the 1” strip.  Punch using the Modern Oval Punch.  Punch a piece of Crushed Curry and adhere these together.  Add to the front using dimensionals. 

6.    Add three Speckled Dots to the front.

7.    Stamp the inside and envelope to match.
