A great Fisherman Masculine card

So I have a LOT of men in my family - so I'm always happy when I can come up with a cute masculine design.  Today I am sharing a card I made earlier this year with the Best Catch set from Page 150 of the annual catalog.  And I just love it!
I did use the Burlap background stamp that we no longer carry - but I think it would look great with the current Birch or Crackle Paint background stamp on page 156 of our Annual catalog too.  I had a lot of fun using our watercolor pencils and blender pends to add some color to these rainbow trout - and then using the edge of my scissors distressed the edges of the burlap layer.
Here is how the inside and envelope were finished.
All and all a great card - and I especially love those cattails in the background, as they remind me of growing up in Wisconsin.
I hope you enjoyed seeing this card and got some inspiration - stop back soon! ~Maureen

SU Greek Isles Incentive trip 2019 - Greek Isles Cruise - Day 4!

So sorry for the long wait for Day 4 lol - as many of you know we have sold our Victorian 2 story home and are moving to a Southwest style 1 story home - and WOW do I have a lot of stuff!  Been busy dealing with my autoimmune flare-up, getting ready for my 7 classes between now and when we move, and packing - and, well, time is of the essence :)  So we are now onto Monday, July 8 -

Day 4 - Today was a day at sea -
After a wonderful breakfast in the main dining room - sitting and chatting with several other demonstrators - we headed to our Stampin' Up! Main Session - it was a lot of fun as always, with Paul getting this awesome back pack as a gift.
Forgive me if I mix up a few of the items I received and when - as now it is so much later it is a bit of a blur.  But I think this is pretty accurate :) I'm pretty sure the cardinal set below, the Tags Tags Tags set and the copper Stars were all prizes we were given at this session.

And - we got the amazing new Holiday Catalog - this is mine, as you can see - but if you'd like one - just let me know and I'll be sure you get one.
During this session we were able to hear from Shelli Gardner - the co-found of Stampin' Up! and several others with inspiration and creative ideas.
They also announced the 2021 Incentive trip - which will be on Royal Caribbean's newest and largest cruise ship - and will take us to the Eastern Caribbean - how exciting.

After that session it was lunch - and even though everything was amazing I had to share this picture of the dessert buffet.  Everything was always so beautifully displayed.

Paul and I decided to share a sampler plate of baklava -four different varieties - so yummy!

In the afternoon we headed over to the Stampin' Up! base room for a chance to spin the wheel and win a prize.  Note sure what day I took this week picture - but you can see you can win one of several items and they are different each day.
On this day I think it was the Toile wrapping paper.
This room was constantly filled with yummy treats - everyday the bowls were full for the taking - how fun is that - they really spoil us.
Got a chance to sit and catch up with demonstrator Melissa Kerman who I met on last year's incentive trip to Alaska - she and her family are so sweet.
Plus met up with one of our Dining Room tablemates, Raphael, who was about to enter the make your own boat to race contest.  He made his with flip flops, water glasses, and plastic; and at dinner we found out he WON!  We know a celebrity :)

Even got a chance to get a quick picture of Paul and I together, just enjoying talking with everyone and relaxing.
My dinner was delicious - beef tenderloin in mushroom gravy with mashed potatoes and asparagus; and cream of lobster bisque.

Back at the room this cute little elephant awaited us - wearing Paul's sunglasses.

And then my pillow gift - this beautiful Santorini canvase tote -
Filled with all of these goodies - WOW!!

We changed from out formal close to something more comfortable and went down to the cinema to watch Aquaman before bed.  All in all - another wonderful day!

Stop back in a few days for Day 5 of our amazing adventure!  ~Maureen

Christmas in July - and Every Other Month!

So, many of you know that I do a Christmas card class every month of the year - January through November.  At each class you make four cards (2 each of 2 designs), so that if you attend them all - you will have 44 cards to send out to friends and family.  You can also purchase extra kits if you want more; or purchase completed cards from me.  This class is always popular and many times I hold an encore class - so today I thought I would share a few of the designs we've made this year to get you inspired!  To see all my upcoming classes - click on the link at the top of this blog.

Hope you enjoyed these ideas and are inspired to get busy on your own Christmas cards - before you know it - the holidays will be here.  See you soon! ~Maureen
