March never-ending cards #1

So, three of my grandkids have March Birthday's - so I think I'm just going to share each of their cards here in three different posts.  The first with a March birthday was our grand-daughter #3 - Miss Makai!
Here is her "sweet" birthday card -
Open top and bottom to get this layer with a cute little gift card tucked in -
Here it is without the gift card -
Then open that out to both sides to get this layer -
And finally this layer before going back to the first above.
It was all tucked into a sweet envelope and sent to her.  Being 8 hours away kills me when it comes to missing my kids and grandkids.
Hope she liked the card and that her birthday was as sweet as she is!  ~Maureen

Personal Post Monday!

When we were in California recently I had time to sneak in a Gramma Day with our precious Miss Makai.  Papa wanted to tag along, and Makai wanted him along - so it became a Gramma/Papa day!  We took her to Paint a Dream to do some painting -
Here she is having fun painting her creation -she always has a ready smile -
Sometimes it takes awhile to get all the "creativity" done, so Papa decided to get a little catnap while waiting.
All done painting - now it will be glazed and fired - and she can pick it up in about a week.
Here's a picture of the three of us - so wonderful being a Gramma!
Then it was off to dinner with her at Red Robin restaurant - she had chicken strips and fries -
And a yummy rootbeer float!!  Just look at that happy face -
Had such a wonderful time - on the way home we stopped and picked up a half gallon of Cookies and Cream Ice cream to share with the rest of  her family.  So glad we were able to get this time in with her.  Love you baby girl!  ~Maureen

Happy birthday Makai!!!!

It's my sweet grand-daughter Makai's 8th birthday - and her parents threw her a soccer party.

Soccer is her thing and she is really good at it - so soccer theme party it was.  Took me a bit but I was able to come up with this cute card for her - I used the Honeycomb embossing folder, Hexagon Hive framelits, and circle framelits to make the soccer ball.  The sentiment is from the "Tin of Cards" stamp set - and I love the boldness of it for this card.
Then took the fringe scissors and a little extra snipping to make the grass.  Had to add a few gems for bling - because, after all - she is a girl :)
Here's a close up of the soccer ball where you can see a bit more of the dimension.  I wish I could have been there to celebrate - but at least our card and gift was there.  Here are a few pictures of the celebration -
Happy Birthday to our "8" year old!!!
Dessert bar and soccer cake her Mom made
Happy Soccer Birthday Girl!
Getting ready for cake!

Love you baby girl - see you soon!  ~Gramma and Papa

Personal Post Monday .....

Had an amazing Gramma Day with this pretty girl - my grand-daughter, Makai.  We had such a fun time together - we went to the mall where she got these cute earrings that glow in the dark.  When we got home we quickly went to a dark closet to check out the claim, and sure enough - they glow!  Isn't she adorable!
She wanted lunch from one of her favorite places - Jersey Mike's subs  - so Jersey Mike's it was.
Then we went off to paint at a local creative store - she picked out this heart placque for her room and painted it in vibrant neon colors -finishing it off with a glaze of sparkles!  Turned out great!
Then finished the day by getting some frozen yogurt that was really, really yummy.  She was so much fun to be with and talk to and just hang out.  Can't wait to do it again - love you baby!!! ~Gramma
