Hostess Gift

So wanted to show the Hostess gift for my club Hostess, Veta.  I used Stampin' Ups! Lullaby DSP to cover this little wooden basket, put in the RSVP pen and add the little flower to the front.
Even put a little piece in the bottom of the basket to finish it, and added stamped notepapers.
Here it is packaged and ready for giving.
Pretty cute huh!?!  I like it too!  ~Maureen

Blendabilities equal FUN!

So here's a sampling of the great cards we made at club this month using Blendabilities and the amazing Blended Bloom stamp set.  The "Happy Birthday" is from the hostess set Bloom with Hope.  There are also several elements on this card from Gorgeous Grunge - one of my all time fav sets.
Here's a close up of the card made in Club with the Rich Razzleberry Assortment and Daffodil Delight added in the center.  You can see we also colored our pearls to match using the blendabilities; and finished off the card with our 7/8" Cotton Ribbon tied with Linen Thread with a few extra strands for impact.
An even closer view of the details on the card - here we used Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight - and this card we colored gems for a little different look.  You can see the accent lines of Pumpkin Pie on the base of the card to pull it all together.
These Blendabilities are truly my new addiction - amazing to play with.  Wanna find out more about them or want to order?  Check out my promotions page here for full details - PROMOTIONS. ~Maureen

Back to Black DSP

One of the funnest ideas I found is coloring our new Back to Black DSP with our blendabilities.  I love to doodle and really enjoyed doing this.  I think this will be my new activity for stress relief :)
Above is the strip of paper I started coloring.  If you go out of the line - no problem - the black is very forgiving.  Below is the 2-4-6-8 treat box we completed using the strips of colored DSP.
So cute, so fun, so easy - and the great part is you can add the colors you'd like to this DSP to make it match any occasion you are planning for.  Hope you enjoyed!  See you soon ~Maureen

Whirlwind Life and Blendabilities

Wow - I feel like there has barely been time to breath the last couple weeks.  First getting ready for Convention - washing clothes, packing, making swap, roommate gifts, downline gifts, etc.  Plus working 12 hours a day at work trying to get ready to leave.  Then five days gone to Salt Lake City for an amazing time with little sleep :)  Now - back to reality and I realize I have so much blogging to catch up on - so hang onto your seats - here we go!
Here's our technique card from my last Technique Club - where we played with SU Blendabilities!  These markers are amazing and so fun to work with.  Anyone can be an artist.  These 6x6 cards are made to go into leave protectors in a 6x6 binder to keep all of  your techniques together.

Here's a close up of one of the cards - look at those beautiful flowers.
To find out more about Blendabilities including a video - click here and go to my Promotions page.  Stop back soon to see what we did with these great new alcohol markers.  Do you live in So. Cal. and wanna join my technique club - or interested in joining a club by mail - just email me for full details.
See you soon ~Maureen

Christmas Card #2

Today we're looking at the 2nd card we made at the June Christmas card Stamp Camp. I really like this card.  We used the new in-color Mossy Meadow cardstock and ribbon; and the tag topper punch.  The star is punched out of our gold paper.

Due to the dark color of the cardstock we added a vanilla insert also.

Here a close up of the card showing how we tied the ribbon with a little linen thread.  Nice natural look.

Hope you liked it!  ~Maureen

June Christmas Card #1

Here is the first card we made at my June Christmas Card class - it uses the Baked Brown Sugar color - which really is not a traditional Christmas color - but it has a lot of golden undertones and I think it turned out beautifully.
The white layer was embossed with SU's decorative dots embossing folder - reminds me of snowfall or snowballs.  And the pearl finished off the cute little snowflake.
Hope you liked it - stop back soon for card #2.  ~Maureen

Celebrate Card

So here's the card we made using the technique I shared yesterday.  We inked up the embossing folder with Tangerine Tango and Strawberry Slush (sounds like the makings for a fruit salad).  Then spritzed the folder with water, pressed down the watercolor paper into the inked and spritzed area - voila - beautiful background for this fun Celebrate! card.  Some of the ladies inked the image side and got this look -
While others inked the negative side - and got this look -

I like both looks - they're just different - but both fun, and every time it looks a bit different.  Thanks for stopping by ~Maureen

Technique 6x6 card

This month our club technique was stamping with embossing folders.   We used Watercolor Paper - although I've done this technique with Whisper White also and it works - just need to be a little more careful with drying the cardstock so the edges don't curl up.   Here are three samples (a little blurry - but you can get the idea) - the first with the dots inked and lightly spritzed - the second the dots inked and spritzed a bit more - and the final with the opposite side of the embossing folder inked and spritzed so you get the negative image of the dots.  Three looks - one technique.
Here's the actual technique card we made for the binders - with the instructions.
Try and let me know how your cards turn out.  Stop back next time to see the actual greeting card we made with this technique.  ~Maureen

Yummy Zucchini Casserole

Just want to share my very favorite way of eating zucchini - it's that time of year when there is an abundance - and even though I like it in breads, muffins and steamed or sauted - this is my fav.  The ingredient list is simple - 1 onion sliced thinly, several zucchini or other summer squash (enough to make a couple good layers in the casserole dish, 2 cans chopped/diced tomatoes (I use one tomato and one mild rotel for a little kick as shown in picture), 2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese, black pepper and salt.
Lightly spray Pam on bottom and sides of casserole dish, then layer half of zucchini (I put about twice as much zucchini in each layer as shown in the picture below), half of the onion, one can of tomatoes, 1 cup of the cheese, black pepper - then repeat ending with the rotel, cheese and pepper and a little salt.  Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 40-45 minutes till cheese is melted, brown and bubbly and zucchini is tender to the fork.
Here it is all done - it is a wonderful side dish for burgers or meatloaf.  I hope you enjoy it!!
See you soon ~Maureen

Patriotic Card in a box

So this month at club we made these great red-white and blue cards - using the star set and framelits from Stampin' Up!  I really like how they turned out.
I'm showing several different views so you can see how we put it together.
The gold glitter stars added that bit of fun sparkle.
We also added a few gems to some of the stars - but I took this picture before finishing.
Here it is all folded down and ready to slip into the envelope for mailing.
 Adorable, and fun!
Here's the link to a youtube video with great instructions and measurements - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XHN5WG2hOQ

Hostess Gift June

So we just started a new round of club - so that means a new round of hostess gifts.  I always try and make something paper crafted for my hostesses - so this year I came up with these cute little note baskets.  I purchased the baskets pre-made and then for Ginny this month I add some of our new black and white DSP.  The two different coordinating designs really pop together.

As an added bonus each of my hostesses this year gets a $5.00 coupon for an upcoming stamp camp.  The little flower was made to go on the front of the basket, but I wrapped the basket up in plastic and forgot the flower.  So Ginny got it separate with her gift card.  It has a dimensional on the back so she can add it to the front of her basket when she takes it out of the plastic.
Here it is again - you can see I added a bit of the DSP to the inside of an RSVP pen so it would coordinate.  And then stamped note paper with this beautiful butterfly.
I thought it turned out really cute and hope she likes it!!  ~Maureen
