Hopping Around the World Blog Hop April - Sketch!

Once again, so very happy to be hopping with this lovely group of stampers for the month of April as we change it up a bit this month with a Sketch for you.  Each of our hoppers will make a lovely card using this sketch -
I decided to use our Bonanza Buddies bundle of products and DSP as I soooooo love them, and just found out they will be retiring when the new June catalog starts.  Note: retiring products are only available while supplies last.  Just look how stinkin' cute this is.
I really love that SU! is making Designer Series Paper that you can cut images out with the coordinating dies.  That is what I did here - the Koala, Toucan and Lion were all cut out with dies.  The lions head was cut separately so I could pop it up on dimensionals.  You can see it a little bit better here -
The birthday hat and the balloons Mr Koala is holding were fussy cut and added with dimensionals and glue dots.  The Coastal Cabana tag layer was cut out from the dies in this set also; and the ribbon is from the new Ornate Garden Suite pre-release from Stampin' Up!
Finished my card off with a coordinating verse and strip of DSP inside the card; as well as those cute little balloons on the envelope.

I hope this makes you want to get your hands on these products before they go away forever.   Now be sure to "hop" on through the rest of the blogs on the list below to see all their great takes on this same sketch.  Before moving on, be sure to leave a comment at the bottom of this post - they make my day!
A little bit crazy and always stampin' ~ Maureen

Monday Funday - Challenge #5 - SIP challenge and contest!

Changing it up again for this Monday Challenge #5 - we're going to do a Stamps-Ink-Paper challenge!  That means all you can use on  your card are stamps, ink and paper - going back to the very basics.  If you want to  have layers that is okay because it is paper - but no embellishments.  I'm a clean and simple gal so this was easy for me - but for some of you this will be a challenge

Challenge #5 -  So here is the deal - your card does not have to use Stampin' Up! products - although I would LOVE that.   Use only stamps, ink and paper.  Once done, you need to go to my facebook page search Crazy Stamping Lady - like the page if you have not done so; and post your picture of your card in the comments of the Challenge #5 Post. Here's the direct link to my FACEBOOK page - click HERE.

BONUS OFFER -
And, since I am trying to get as many people as possible to go to my page and play along - if you invite a friend to play - and they post a picture and mention you invited them - not only will they get an entry - but you'll get a BONUS entry too.

So here is what I came up with for my inspiration for you - it uses the Inspiring Iris set - four different colors but only using stamps, ink and paper. I didn't even do any layers - and I just love them!

Now it's your turn - pick your stamp, your inks and your papers - make your card - and post to my Facebook page no later than Noon, Sunday, April 26th for a chance to win a sampling of DSP perfect for card front layering - good luck!  Can't wait to see all your cards.    ~Maureen

SF 2020-March All About Flowers and Moms Blog Hop

Be sure to hop through all the blogs on the list near the bottom for tons of wonderful inspiration!
~*~*~*~*~
It's that time of year - Spring, Flowers, and before you know it Mother's Day!  So our group this month is helping you get ahead of the game with some wonderful cards and 3D items you can do now for Mom - or any special woman in your life.  I decided to work with the Timeless Tulips set from the current SU mini catalog.

So, I'll be the first to admit I struggled with this set initially.  I LOVE tulips and thought what a great set - but my first several tries were less than awesome lol!  So a couple tips - 1) make sure your stamp pads are not too juicy, if they are you lose all that beautiful detail.  2)  Get the 2-tone look I did above by adding some darker ink with a sponge to your stamp after you have inked with the lighter color - I think these tips made all the difference on my projects today, and I love them!

Above are the light and dark colors I used for the leaves and the flowers, plus the great punch that comes in this bundle.
So for my card I just wanted to make a beautiful Mother's Day bouquet - so I stamped and punched and fussy cut a bunch of flowers and leaves.  After stamping the stems, I added the flowers and leaves to the card with glue dots at the bottom of each - this allowed the flowers to pop out a bit at the top and give the bouquet some great dimension.  You can see that more closely below.
I added a bow made with the new ribbon combo from SU's Ornate Garden suite.  Then added some colored gems - I always keep a bunch of colored gems on hand - both the ones from SU; but also some clear ones that I have colored with blends like these.
This card is a bit of a fun fold with the front layers overlapping the inside of the card a bit, but not a completely full front.  Here's the inside sentiment and the coordinating envelope.
My 3D item is a cute little decorated Dollar store candle.  I just wrapped it with a couple layers of coordinating cardstock.  Then added a mini bouquet and gems to the front - as well as the Happy Mother's Day sentiment.
Here's another angle where you can see the sentiment better -
This is just a fun little card and candle gift that you would change up for most any occasions.  But I especially love it for Mother's Day.
