August Christmas Card #1

Here's the first card we did at this month's Christmas Card Stamp Camp.  It was designed by Heidi at www.stampinking.blogspot.com   It is so simple, clean and beautiful.  It uses the new "Evergreen" set from the Holiday catalog.  We sponged some shimmer below the tree with the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark pad - it's hard to see but added a lovely snow glow - and then we bordered that with a bit of dazzling details - how beautiful!!!
Our next Christmas Card Stamp Camp is scheduled for Sunday, September 23 - plan to come join us!! ~Maureen

Baby Shower Card

So here's the little girl onesie card I made for Sunday's baby shower.  I stamped two onesies on the envelope (cuz she's havin' twins!!)
For the card I used the scallop edge trim and cut it pretty close to the scallop so I could curve it around the neck and legs.  I added little pearls to the collar and a cute little flower to the waist band.  Then a couple punched circles at the bottom to mimic the snaps on a onesie.  How cute is that - I had so much fun making this card!!  Now can't wait for the girls to make their appearance.  ~Maureen

Pink times two!!

This past Sunday I had the fun of going to a baby shower for my neighbor who is expecting twin girls soon.  She also has a little girl who is not yet 2 - so how fun is that :)  She will have her hands full - but they will be full of joy and love.
So I wanted to share my gift - first these two little adorable piggy banks.  I just couldn't resist them.  They are two different shades of pink so she can tell them apart - and each has their own little flower with a pearl tucked behind their ear.
I also crocheted these two granny square afghans for the babies.  They are almost identical - but the one on the left is trimmed with a cream colored border and the one on the right with a pink border - so again each baby can have their own special afghan.
I hope she likes them, and the babies get to use them for years to come.  Stop back tomorrow to see the card I made.   ~Maureen

Bow Wow Thank you

Just had to share this adorable card made by my neighbor Jen.  When they were on vacation recently - went up and let their dogs out in the AM and  put them back in at night.  Their dog Herc, who is older and tired, sometimes would just not budge in the morning, and later in the day someone else had to come over and get him out.  But I tried, really I tried :)
So Jen (or her dogs) left this cute card and a yummy Starbucks card with it as a thank you!  How fun is that.  Thanks so much Herc and Daisy - it was my pleasure.  ~Maureen

Stamp Camp Card 3

Here is the third card that we made at last month's Cards, Cards, Cards Stamp Camp.  For this card we used one of my favorite new stamps - the "Pleasant Poppies" background stamp.  We stamped it with the seamless layers technique.  The flowers were watercolored with ink pads and blender pens.  Then we added Scallop dot ribbon in Tangerine Tango.  Again - I LOVE the flowers stamped on the Kraft envelope - so beautiful.
Next month's Cards SC is Tuesday, September 11, at 7:00 PM.  You can RSVP here if you'd like to join us! Stop back soon.  ~Maureen

Stamp Camp Card 2

Here is the second card that we made at last month's Cards, Cards, Cards Stamp Camp.  For this card we used the beautiful "Elegant Lines" folder.  The word "Happiness" is from the "Loving Thoughts" set.  We punched flowers with the Boho Blossoms punch and added a pretty little pearl and attached to the card.  The scallop oval and sentiment are popped up on dimensionals.

This card is a case of a card by Sarah Wills that you can see here.  Just gave it my own touches.  Next month's Cards SC is Tuesday, September 11, at 7:00 PM.  You can RSVP here if you'd like to join us! Check back tomorrow for Card 3 that we made.  ~Maureen

Stamp Camp Card 1

Here is one of the cards that we made at last month's Cards, Cards, Cards Stamp Camp.  We used Twitterpated Designer Series Paper and the wonderful "Fabulous Florets" stamp set.  The top layer is popped up on dimensionals as is the smaller cut out flower.  This is such a nice set - just look how pretty those flowers look on the envelope, and I love the saying - the beauty of nature amazes me every day, and this quote really captures that.
Next month's Cards SC is Tuesday, September 11, at 7:00 PM.  You can RSVP here if you'd like to join us! Check back tomorrow for Card 2 that we made.  ~Maureen

New Floors!!

Sooooo - guess what - I'm getting new wood floors.  Hubby is putting them in and doing an amazing job.  Here are some of the goodies (expensive goodies) - that he's using.
Here's the old floor torn out - you can see a bit of the old laminant floor still down at the upper left of the picture.
And here's the hallway done with the new wood floor - it is so dark and rich looking - just beautiful.  The edges are unfinished looking as molding will still go in - but I LOVE IT!  There's a lot more to do so I'll share more pictures later!! See you soon.  ~Maureen

Big Weekend with the Jones

Last weekend turned out to be very busy with Jenee's kids. - lot going on.  First Zamarah had a Luau at her preschool - look how cute she is in her little Hawaiin dress. I went there for a little bit - but had to leave with Paisley.
Zamarah happy with Prince in the background.
Took her over to Pacific Camps where she was performing in their Musical Theater - she was Mama Bear.  Jenee and the other kids caught up with a us bit before the performance.   Paisley did an amazing job - had a quite a few lines and NAILED them.  She seemed to be not nervous at all.   Way to go Pais!!
Here she is with Papa Bear.
Striking a Mama Bear pose before the performance.  How cute is she.
And here she is with Baby Bear.
Then Prince and I had our "Gramma Day"   First we went to the movies - Ice Age 3 - very cute movie.  Here's my handsome guy in the lobby of the theater.
Then we went to McDonald's and he got his fav - a chicken McNugget Happy Meal with a Vanilla Shake.  Normally we would have gone to a sit down restaurant of his choice and ate there.
But earlier Prince had used his money plus a little from Gramma and bought this....
He is ADDICTED to Legos and especially to Ninjago.  So his plan was to get food and get to Gramma's as fast as possible so he could put it together. So that is what we did.  Fun day and a happy boy!!  ~Maureen

Business Builders Project

A group of my downline has committed to quarterly meetings for one year to try and grow their businesses.  We met last Saturday, and I'd asked my downline Maria to come up with a project that would work as a Hostess Gift or a Doorprize Giveaway - as we are working on adding events to our calendars.  Below I'm sharing what we did -
Here is Maria's sample of what she came up with - a cute gift box using two of our milk carton die cuts - decorated for Halloween ( or you could do anything - flowers, Christmas, etc.) and then you could fill it with something yummy!!
Here's Maria sharing her wonderful project with our group!
The ladies working on their creations!!
And here's mine - I love it!!  What a cute and fun project!!
To see more of Maria's creations check out her blog at http://stampinista.blogspot.com/

July Christmas Card #2

Now I want to share the beautiful card Heidi designed for our last Christmas Card Class.  Isn't it lovely.  I hope our ladies liked to watercolor - as both of us used that technique on our cards - but I didn't hear any complaints, so I think they were fine with it.  I especially love the use of the little embossing frame over the flower - makes it pop!
Recipe: Stamp Sets - En Francais and Christmas Blessings; Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla, Real Red.  Stamp Pads: Stazon and Real Red for watercoloring, Wild Wasabi Marker, Pearls, Blender pens. LOVELY!!
So that's another day of Christmas inspiration - looking forward to making Christmas (and a Hannukah card when requested) with you on Sunday, August 26.  Thanks for stopping by.  ~Maureen

July Christmas Card #1

At our last Christmas Card class this is the card I designed for the group to make.  It is very similar to the card in the Stampin' Up! catalog page 14 of the catalog.  Just put my own spin on it to make it very easy to recreate in bulk.  Each lady got to make five of these beauties.
Recipe: Sets - Greeting Card Kids, More Merry Messages, Stamp Pads - Staz on Black plus Real Red, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi and Baja Breeze for watercoloring.  Blender Pens, Boho Blossoms Punch, Gems, Cardstock - Whisper White, Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze, and Northern Flurry embossing folder.  So adorable!!
Hope you enjoyed and are inspired - as Christmas is right around the corner.  Plan to join us on Sunday, August 26th for our next Christmas Card Stamp Camp!!! ~Maureen

Club Hostess Gift

Wanted to show you my Hostess gift for my Club Hostess this month - but really I thought I had a better picture.  I already gave it to her, so can't retake - so please accept my apologies for the blurriness.  It is a wipe off board made out of a frame and decorated.
I did take a close up of the flowers and that seems to be much clearer - thank goodness.  These flowers are made out of the brown packing paper that comes in our SU orders.  I think they are just beautiful. There are two sizes made by punching scallops out of 8 layers of paper then put together with a brad, scrunched and sponged.
Diane - thanks for being a terrific hostess - enjoy!  ~Maureen
