Penned and Painted

I wanted to share with you today - some beautiful cards I made with one of my favorite sets that is RETIRING.  It is making me so sad - this set is a 2step stamping set - and is beautiful no matter what color you use.
But lately I have been using blues - the butterfly on the card above was stamped with the blue and yellow of the flower - then the outline of the butterfly and then punched out.  So it matched perfectly.
These were some of 40 customer (and some downline) cards that went out after a recent event.
I hope everyone loved them as much as I did.  Be sure to go to www.stampingwithmaureen.stampinup.net and click on SHOP NOW so you can see all the retiring deals as well as the new clearance rack items.  Don't miss out - this and many other sets will be gone SOON!  Place an order over $50 pre S&H and tax now through May 8th; through my site using Hostess Code 46VXC4QH and you'll receive a set of gems or pearls in the mail from me as special thank you!!  See you all soon!  ~Maureen

Hostess Journal Gifts

So for this past round of Club Hostesses in my two clubs - I made monogrammed, decorated composition books with matching pens, when it was their month to hostess.  I love doing these - and they are a big seller at my vendor events.  I do the books with matching RSVP pens - by inserted a piece of the matching DSP into the pen around the ink tube.
Today - I am sharing four different ones - each month is different.  And I LOVE each of them.  This is a great way to use up some discontinued DSP - and make yourself a journal or notebook.
I choose a couple of coordinating layers to mount their initial on, and bling it up with some flowers and gems or pearls.
I also do the inside of the back and front covers with coordinating DSP - usually from the same packet - add a little ribbon and Voila!
My next round of one club just began and the second club will start their second round in a couple months.  This time I have another great gift for them their hostess month- and will be sharing that soon.  In the meantime - make something beautiful!! ~Maureen

Autism Matters Blog Hop #3

Thank you for joining us today on this amazing hop that we are doing to bring awareness to AUTISM!
"1 in 50 Children living in the US has a diagnosis of
Autism Spectrum Disorder"
Considering all the troubles I had earlier with my last post - hoping this goes well.  We have had nothing but computer trouble this week - argh!  But life is like that - and for those who are living with autism - there is just one more layer of frustrations.  So I'm hopeful on this one.  Today I'm sharing another adorable and simple birthday balloon card!  These cards just make me smile.  It's a little off the autism colors - but does use the brightness of the yellow - which is my fav!!!
Bottom line is - life is beautiful!  Let's take time to enjoy the small things - hug a little longer, smile at a cute card, put your arm around someone who is down.  We're all in this together folks - let's make a difference.

I hope you like the card and will check out the other blogs on the hop, but first -
Please consider donating to this worthy cause - every $1 helps with research and awareness. When you click on the link below - be sure to choose me off the list when you donate.  Thanks so much!!!

Stampin' Friends April Blog Hop - Birthday Surprise!!!

Welcome to the Stampin' Friends Birthday Surprise Blog Hop!  This month we have 1 amazing guest hopper that you should DEFINITELY check out - Jen Cerizo.   So I really love this theme - everyone loves a birthday surprise!

A bit back Shannon West at Stampin' Up! started a bringing back birthdays campaign and I jumped on the bandwagon.  I will send a hand made birthday card out to anyone that would like one.  I think of it as a ministry as I make the cards and send the cards I say a prayer for the recipient.  Last year I mailed out over 700 and it brought me a lot of joy - this year I'm on track for 1,000.
So I made up a ton of these sweet balloon cards to send out - quick, easy and adorable!!
I thought it was perfect to post for this hop.  We are also supposed to do a little treat holder - which I did last minute, and guess what - my camera quit working - and my phone won't send the picture to my computer.  I have been fighting this battle for two hours, and am giving up tonight.  If all goes well - I'll get it to post in the morning after some sleep.  UPDATE:  Here is my treat holder - very simple little pocket - but can hold candy, money - a gift card.  Would be fun to give with the card -
Took a bit to get my computer working again - but now I think it's all better.  At least praying lol!
So if you are here and there are just cards - stop back later if you get a moment.  Now be sure to continue on the hop by clicking the names below! You’re at Maureen Rauchfuss’ post to help orient yourself.  ~Maureen

Autism Matters Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us today on this amazing hop that we are doing to bring awareness to AUTISM!
"1 in 50 Children living in the US has a diagnosis of
Autism Spectrum Disorder"
For this blog we are making projects using the Red/Yellow/Blue colors of the autism logo.  Can you believe that 1 in 50 children are on the spectrum.  Autism affects most everyone in some way.  I decided to use this beautiful carousal horse from the Stampin' Up! Carousal Birthday set.  To me it just evokes memories of being a child - enjoying the pleasures that every child should - but that are sometimes so difficult with autism.

I used the colors of the logo - a few gems - and the splatters in the background to give that surreal feeling of these horses going up and down on the ride. Not a worry in the world!

I hope you like the card and will check out the other blogs on the hop, but first -

Stop back here soon to see the baby shower invitation I made for my daughter, using this very same set with an entirely different look!  Thanks for hopping with us - feel free to let your friends know to hop with us too!! ~Maureen

Post SAB share

Hi All - I know Sale a bration this year is over - but I had to share this cute TEAM card I made.  It uses the FREE SAB Medallion set and the SAB glimmer paper.  These pictures don't really do it justice.
It's a combo of the Mint Macaron and the Bermuda Bay glimmer.
I love the medallion builder - just look how great that comes together.
Aren't they beautiful - I just have to make some more and to me that little glimmery butterfly just finishes it off.
See you all soon!! ~Maureen

March Club 2 - Baby Wipe Technique

The baby wipe technique is such a fun and easy way to get lots of color onto a stamped image.  This month in my Technique Club #2 here in Prescott - it was the technique we learned.  Here is the technique card we added to our binder -
Above we did several colors on our baby wipe and made the balloons - every one that you stamp looks different.  And below is he actual greeting card we made with the technique.
For the card we made a baby wipe palette of about five different colors (more than usual but we were only stamping once or twice, so it didn't get muddied.)  After stamping our verse - we cut out a beautiful butterfly with pink glimmer paper and added it with a few glue dots.
The glue dots were only on the body of the butterfly allowing the wings to pop up a bit, and give the card some dimension.

Just love the final look of this beautiful spring card.  See you soon! ~Maureen
