It's Sunday - and time to share another great card and free tutorial! Today I'm sharing a fun and simple card using the Cheerful Daisies set that is brand new in our catalog. Cheerful Daisies

Supplies:

·       Stamp Sets: Cheerful Daisies (161290) or discounted as a bundle (161297)

·       Card Stock and Paper: Copper Clay (161721), Boho Blue (161724), Vellum (101856), Basic White (159276), Fresh as a Daisy 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper “DSP” (161289)

·       Stamp Pads: Copper Clay (161647), Boho Blue (161650)

·       Tools: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Bone Folder (102300); Paper Snips (103579)

·       Miscellaneous: Cheerful Daisies Dies (161296) or discounted as a bundle (161297); Stylish Shapes Dies (159183), Linen Thread (104199), 2023-2025 In Color Dots (161620); Multipurpose Liquid Glue or “glue” (110755); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Mini Glue Dots (103683), household tape

 Measurements:

·       Copper Clay card base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4” and burnished with the Bone Folder; scraps

·       Boho Blue: 4” x 5-1/4”, 3” x 3”

·       Designer Series Paper: 3-3/4” x 5”

·       Basic White: 1-1/2” x 3”, scraps

·       Thread: 24”

 Instructions:

1.    Adhere DSP to Boho Blue and then that piece to card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

2.    Die cut two leaves out of Basic White and two branch sprays in Copper Clay.

3.    Die cut circle from Vellum.

4.    With Boho Blue ink, stamp daisy outline onto Boho Blue cardstock. With same ink, stamp off once with the inside of the flower aligning inside the previously stamped outline. Die cut daisy.

5.    Stamp center of daisy with Copper Clay ink onto same color cardstock.

6.    Stamp sentiment with Copper Clay onto Basic White and die cut.

7.    With dots of glue affix branches and leaves behind daisy. Secure with tape. Glue that piece to vellum circle then glue sentiment onto lower right of daisy.

8.    With Stampin’ Dimensionals behind vellum and sentiment, affix to card front.

9.    Double thread and tie a bow, trim ends with Paper Snips, and affix to front with Mini Glue Dot.

10. Sprinkle three Boho Blue Dots on card front.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Happy Birthday!

 

Welcome to our Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring talented Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe including the USA, United Kingdom and Australia are participating. We have a wide array of fun projects and design styles to share with you this month - all spotlighting projects that shout "Happy Birthday!"

So for today's post I decided to combine a current goal of mine with the Happy birthday theme. During Sale-a-bration I made it a goal to use up all of my discontinued Designer Series Paper that are in open packages up so that I don't have any opened packages left. I (like you I am sure) am a bit of a paper hoarder. So I decided to come up with a series of quick and easy layouts to accomplish that. Here is my first card - it is made with current DSP for the blog hop - I used the Artistry Blooms paper and Happiest of Birthdays stamp set.

The layout is your A2 card base - first layer is 5 1/4"x4" and then a sheet of DSP that is 4 7/8" x 3 5"8". On this DSP you are going to cut it vertically at the 1 3/4" mark - then cut each of the two strips horizontally at 2". Then you are going to flip two of the pieces to use the backs and place on card as shown. After that - just add your sentiment and a bow and voila! Here is another example -

This one uses the same Happiest of Birthday stamp set and the Ornate Garden DSP. You can see it is exactly the same layout - but looks so different. My goal was to use retired DSP and make 10 cards with this layout today - so I'm going to show just one of the 10 I made - this one uses the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set and the retired Berry Sale-a-bration paper. You can just never have too many birthday cards - and now I am ahead of the game with 12 more made with this layout and that DSP is well on it's way to being used up!

Pretty in Pink!

I had so much fun making this card - I have never done a diagonal cut card like this - and I certainly have never done a card so pink!  I don't even like pink - lol.  But this beautiful FOIL DSP made me change my mind about that.  

I used the Love You Always Foil DSPs from the current Jan - June Mini Catalog - and they are just stunning. You can see the video showing  how I put this all together HERE.

The dies cut out six butterflies at once (either stamped or from the DSP) - so it is very quick and easy to use.  To add to the beauty of those popped up wings - I covered them with shimmer from Wink of Stella. 

Then to make the card even more special - I added a fun little butterfly surprise to the inside of my card.  It swings over to the right and out of the way so that you can write your message to the recipient.

I really love how it turned out and can't wait to play even more and share with you.

Put a little Rainbow Glimmer in your life!

I have something really fun to share with you today - the beautiful Rainbow Glimmer Paper from page 153 of the annual catalog.  It is just so pretty and fun - and I think much overlooked!

I had a couple packages and pulled it out to prepare for an upcoming class.  After I was done prepping, I had a bunch of odd shaped scraps sitting on the table - so I got out my Tailored Tag punch and punched it all up.  Then started laying it out for some simple cards.  They came together so beautifully with a simple sentiment.

Then I punched some of the smaller scraps with the small bloom punch and added for just that final needed touch.  For the center of the flower I just punched a regular circle with a regular paper punch from black cardstock and added with a glue dot.

Then to finish just layered on a piece of black cardstock and then an A2 white base - I just really love how they turned out.

Sometimes I feel so fulfilled when I can use up scraps and create something beautiful - and this was one of those days.  Hope you like them too - if you do, please leave me a comment.

January Christmas Cards - Part II

So the other day I shared the 1st design from my January Christmas card class - and today I am sharing the 2nd design.  I guess with the 24 inches of snow we got last week - I had snow on my mind lol!  As I mentioned I do Christmas card classes every month - January through November - and they are a hit!  Takes so much of the stress out of making your cards by doing a few each month.  Our 2nd design used the Snowflake Wishes set from the Fall 2020 catalog carry-over list.

Here are a couple of the cards - we used retired DSP from the Holiday catalog - but so little of it shows - that you could just as easily stamp that layer or leave it blue.

The upper layers are popped up on Dimensionals to give it some fun dimension - and I added a bunch of gems for the snowflake sparkle!  Here's another angle.  I love the Rectangle Postage Stamp punch as it gives such character to your cards. 

The image above shows how I stamped the envelopes and below is the inside of the card - just love this snow set - and the great sentiments in it.

CARD RECIPE - base is A2 Basic White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2" score along the long side at 4 1/4" - this is a horizontal card, stamped randomly with Misty Moonlight Snowflakes. Layer of Misty Moonlight 5 1/2" x 1 3/4"; layer of DSP layer is 5 1/2" x 1 1/2".  On top of that popped up on dimensionals - layer of Misty Moonlight 4 3/4" x 2 1/4", 3 pieces of Basic White stamped with Seaside Spray snowflakes and punched with the Rectangle Postage Stamp punch - spaced evenly on Misty Moonlight layer.  Piece of Seaside Spray 3 1/4" x 1" stamped with sentiment using Misty Moonlight Ink.  Basic White Envelope.  Rhinestone gems.  Seal adhesive and dimensionals.
